el resto de los ejes temáticos y su importante clave temporal.[Abstract] The architecture workshop arises from the need to integrate the different skills that students must
acquire during their learning in the development of a relevant architectural proposal, which must bring
them closer to the interdisciplinary reality of professional architectural work through a specific
intervention.
To this end, the concepts of social responsibility and environmental adaptation will be considered,
always developing critical capacity and ethical commitment to society and current comfort conditions.
The aim is for students to tackle a complex process of developing a complete architectural intervention
proposal, from its design to its precise technical realisation, covering the phases of data collection,
interpretation, elaboration and execution.
It uses a confluence of thematic axes of teaching innovation that have to conform to a work plan
established in a schedule that sets phases to ensure the development of the complete project in the
established teaching period.
This communication focuses mainly on the presentation and assessment of the active methodologies
used, their combinations and the results obtained. The methodologies are analysed in relation to the rest
of the thematic axes and their important temporal ke
Aquí se exponen y analizan los antecedentes, las experiencias previas, que determinaron la asunción de este modelo[Abstract] The history of the Architecture Workshops (Talleres de Arquitectura) is revised, where these workshops are a collaboration experience among professors who manage the transversal nature of the architecture trade. These workshops were conceived to facilitate the confluence of the contents of the different subjects that concern the architectural project, thus guaranteeing the optimization of the teaching resources and rationalizing the work of the students. The proposed model is a work and exchange space that is attended simultaneously, not sequentially, by the professors of the different subjects: projects, construction, structures, urban planning, installations and composition. These workshops are now incorporated in the new curricula of the School of Architecture: degree and master. Here the antecedents, the previous experiences that determined the assumption of this model, are exposed and analyse
The elastic bonding in stone rain-screen
This article, based on an architectural position, proposes a technical solution of the formal requirements of a rain screen wall on a specific project, and describes the process of research made for its verification and construction. The solution was subsequently proved in other buildings in order to develop an alternative solution to stone mechanical anchoring

The Energy Efficiency Plan of the University of a Coruña: a Commitment to Photovoltaic Solar Energy in The Face of The Challenge of Renewable Energies
[Abstract] Since 2020, the University of a Coruña (UDC) has been developing an Energy Efficiency Plan that is already yielding its first beneficial results. An ambitious plan to renovate the building envelopes to make them thermally efficient, together with a determined policy of centralization in district heating and a commitment to photovoltaic solar energy on the roofs, constitute the essence of this Energy Efficiency Plan. The renewal of aerothermal heat pump systems, at the limit of their useful life, and the replacement of diesel boilers with aerothermal or gas boilers, which are more efficient and require less maintenance, is another major challenge. The climatic peculiarity of our area, a temperate oceanic climate with cool summers, allows the use of free cooling throughout the year with high performance. The widespread changeover of lighting to LED technology has been a determining factor in energy savings. We raise two fundamental questions to be determined for the proposed model plan: what indicators can we establish as efficient performance and what capacity does the model plan have to maintain its efficiency in another location
HTLV-1 infection in solid organ transplant donors and recipients in Spain
HTLV-1 infection is a neglected disease, despite infecting 10-15 million people worldwide and severe illnesses develop in 10% of carriers lifelong. Acknowledging a greater risk for developing HTLV-1 associated illnesses due to immunosuppression, screening is being widely considered in the transplantation setting. Herein, we report the experience with universal HTLV testing of donors and recipients of solid organ transplants in a survey conducted in Spain. All hospitals belonging to the Spanish HTLV network were invited to participate in the study. Briefly, HTLV antibody screening was performed retrospectively in all specimens collected from solid organ donors and recipients attended since the year 2008. A total of 5751 individuals were tested for HTLV antibodies at 8 sites. Donors represented 2312 (42.2%), of whom 17 (0.3%) were living kidney donors. The remaining 3439 (59.8%) were recipients. Spaniards represented nearly 80%. Overall, 9 individuals (0.16%) were initially reactive for HTLV antibodies. Six were donors and 3 were recipients. Using confirmatory tests, HTLV-1 could be confirmed in only two donors, one Spaniard and another from Colombia. Both kidneys of the Spaniard were inadvertently transplanted. Subacute myelopathy developed within 1 year in one recipient. The second recipient seroconverted for HTLV-1 but the kidney had to be removed soon due to rejection. Immunosuppression was stopped and 3 years later the patient remains in dialysis but otherwise asymptomatic. The rate of HTLV-1 is low but not negligible in donors/recipients of solid organ transplants in Spain. Universal HTLV screening should be recommended in all donor and recipients of solid organ transplantation in Spain. Evidence is overwhelming for very high virus transmission and increased risk along with the rapid development of subacute myelopathy
