    Comportamiento de las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant en 1D y aproximaciones para diferentes condiciones en régimen permanente y variable

    The importance of the behavior of the Saint Venant equations and its implications for flow analysis applied to models of hydraulic transit is the main theme of this research, where the basis of the applications and uses of these mathematical models is determined and the performance is evaluated these equations in 1D and its possible approaches for different conditions of a real situation using computational numerical experimentation for a section of a prismatic channel with a hydraulic section, in cases where the channel slope presents three types of conditions: supercritical, subcritical and horizontal slope for a design rate. The main objective of this research is to find a demonstration of the applicability of the Saint Venant equations for different conditions of approaching this problem from the point of view of the solution of the Saint Venant equations in one dimension. Scheme simple solution that produces useful solutions to the needs of engineering, finding that within the sewer network analysis there are many factors that can affect the solution of the Saint Venant equations.La importancia del comportamiento de las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant y sus implicaciones en el análisis del flujo aplicado a modelos de tránsito hidráulico es el tema principal de esta investigación. Partiendo de las aplicaciones y usos de dichos modelos matemáticos, se determina y se evalúa el comportamiento de estas ecuaciones en 1D y sus aproximaciones para diferentes condiciones posibles de una situación real mediante la experimentación numérica computacional para un tramo de un cauce con una sección hidráulica prismática, en casos en los cuales la pendiente del canal presenta tres tipos de condiciones: supercrítica, subcrítica y pendiente horizontal, para un caudal de referencia. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es encontrar una demostración de la aplicabilidad de las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant para diferentes condiciones de acercamiento a esta problemática desde el punto de vista de la solución de las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant en una dimensión. Se propone un esquema de solución simple que produzca soluciones útiles a las necesidades de la ingeniería, y se encuentra que dentro del análisis de redes de alcantarillado hay muchos factores que pueden afectar la solución de las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant

    Timing of Decremental Response During Repetitive Nerve Stimulation in Myasthenia Gravis

    Background: A decrement >10% detected during repetitive nerve stimulation (RNS) is supportive of considering a diagnosis of myasthenia gravis (MG). Several studies have found that most of this decrement is seen between 4 to 6 min post-exercise. However, there are not available studies analyzing if shorter timing would be sufficient.   Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate if RNS up to 2 min post-exercise is sufficient to detect a decrement response >10%. Methods: We performed a retrospective chart review study of patients referred to our neuromuscular clinic at The University of Kansas Medical Center with symptoms suggestive of MG from 2013 to 2017. Results: A total of 76 patients with MG and 100 controls were identified.  A significant decrement was detected in 95% of MG patients with abnormal RNS within 2 minutes post-exercise. Conclusion: RNS up to 2 min post-exercise might be sufficient to detect a significant decrement in MG patients.&nbsp

Entender la importancia de realizar la una serie de mecanismos que lograran comprobar la efectividad y seguridad de los medicamentos, dio origen a la farmacovigilancia, la cual se encarga de detección, prevención y evaluación de los efectos adversos que se pueden presentar a lo largo del tratamiento farmacológico.Over the last few years, the use of medicines has become a daily occurrence, and different programs, activities and processes have been created to mitigate those events that threaten the quality of life of people. Understanding the importance of carrying out a series of mechanisms to verify the effectiveness and safety of medicines, gave rise to pharmacovigilance, which is responsible for detection, prevention and evaluation of adverse effects that may occur during pharmacological treatment

    Extinction-related Angström exponent characterization of submicrometric volume fraction in atmospheric aerosol particles

    The AEAOD– ΔAEAOD grid proposed by Gobbi et al. (2007) is a graphical method used to visually represent the spectral characterization of aerosol optical depth (AOD), i.e. Angström exponent (AE) and its curvature, in order to infer the fine mode contribution (η) to the total AOD and the size of the fine mode aerosol particles. Perrone et al. (2014) applied this method for the wavelengths widely used in lidar measurements. However, in neither case does the method allow for a direct relationship between η and the fine mode fraction contribution to the total aerosol population. Some discussions are made regarding the effect of shape and composition to the classical AE-ΔAE plot. The potential use of particle backscatter measurements, widely used in aerosol characterization methods together with extinction measurements, is also discussed in the AE-ΔAE grid context. A modification is proposed that yields the submicron contribution to the total volume concentration by using particle extinction data, and a comparison to experimental measurements is made. Our results indicate that the use of a modified AE-ΔAE grid plot to directly obtain submicrometric and micrometric mode fraction to the total aerosol population is feasible if a volume-based bimodal particle size distribution is used instead of a number-based one.Andalusia Regional Government through project P12-RNM-2409Spanish Ministry of Sciences, Innovation and Universities (CGL2016-81092 and CGL2017 -90884 - REDT

    Aplikasi Herbisida 2,4-d Dan Penoxsulam Pada Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Padi Sawah (Oryza Sativa L.)

    Salah satu teknik budidaya untuk meningkatkan produksi tanaman padi sawah yaitu dengan mengurangi persaingan antara tanaman dengan gulma. Pengendalian dengan kimiawi merupakan salah satu cara mengurangi pertumbuhan gulma di pertanaman padi. Cara kimiawi merupakan cara yang praktis, efektif dan efisien untuk mengendalikan gulma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh dari aplikasi herbisida 2,4-D dan penoxsulam dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil padi sawah serta menentukan dosis aplikasi herbisida 2,4-D dan penoxsulam baik secara tunggal maupun campuran dalam mengendalikan gulma pada tanaman padi sawah. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Juli 2014 di Desa Campurasri, Ngawi. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok sederhana, dengan menempatkan 11 perlakuan yaitu H1 : kontrol herbisida 2,4-D; H2 : 2,4-D 11,25 kg ha-1; H3 : 2,4-D 22,5 kg ha-1; H4 : 2,4-D 33,75 kg ha-1; H5 : kontrol herbisida penoxsulam; H6 : penoxsulam 200 ml ha-1; H7 : penoxsulam 400 ml ha-1; H8 : penoxsulam 600 ml ha-1; H9 : 2,4-D 11,25 kg ha-1 dan penoxsulam 200 ml ha-1; H10 : 2,4-D 22,5 kg ha-1 dan penoxsulam 400 ml ha-1; H11 : 2,4-D 33,75 kg ha-1 dan penoxsulam 600 ml ha-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan herbisida 2,4-D 11,25 kg ha-1 dan penoxsulam 200 ml menghasilkan bobot kering total tanaman dengan peningkatan sebesar 34,62 % dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Pada produksi tanaman padi peningkatan terjadi sebesar 29,77 % pada perlakuan herbisida 2,4-D 33,75 kg ha-1 dan penoxsulam 600 ml dibandingkan dengan kontrol

    Overview of the SLOPE I and II campaigns: aerosol properties retrieved with lidar and sun–sky photometer measurements

Finally, the authors would like to acknowledge the use of the GRASP inversion algorithm software (http://www.grasp-open.com, last access: 1 April 2020), in this work.The Sierra Nevada Lidar aerOsol Profiling Experiment I and II (SLOPE I and II) campaigns were intended to determine the vertical structure of aerosols by remote sensing instruments and test the various retrieval schemes for obtaining aerosol microphysical and optical properties with in situ measurements. The SLOPE I and II campaigns were developed during the summers of 2016 and 2017, respectively, combining active and passive remote sensing with in situ measurements at stations belonging to the AGORA observatory (Andalusian Global ObseRvatory of the Atmosphere) in the Granada area (Spain). In this work, we use the in situ measurements of these campaigns to evaluate aerosol properties retrieved by the GRASP code (Generalized Retrieval of Atmosphere and Surface Properties) combining lidar and sun-sky photometer measurements. We show an overview of aerosol properties retrieved by GRASP during the SLOPE I and II campaigns. In addition, we evaluate the GRASP retrievals of total aerosol volume concentration (discerning between fine and coarse modes), extinction and scattering coefficients, and for the first time we present an evaluation of the absorption coefficient. The statistical analysis of aerosol optical and microphysical properties, both column-integrated and vertically resolved, from May to July 2016 and 2017 shows a large variability in aerosol load and types. The results show a strong predominance of desert dust particles due to North African intrusions. The vertically resolved analysis denotes a decay of the atmospheric aerosols with an altitude up to 5 km a.s.l. Finally, desert dust and biomass burning events were chosen to show the high potential of GRASP to retrieve vertical profiles of aerosol properties (e.g. absorption coefficient and single scattering albedo) for different aerosol types. The aerosol properties retrieved by GRASP show good agreement with simultaneous in situ measurements (nephelometer, aethalometer, scanning mobility particle sizer, and aerodynamic particle sizer) performed at the Sierra Nevada Station (SNS) in Granada. In general, GRASP overestimates the in situ data at the SNS with a mean difference lower than 6 mu m(3) cm(-3) for volume concentration, and 11 and 2 Mm(-1)for the scattering and absorption coefficients. On the other hand, the comparison of GRASP with airborne measurements also shows an overestimation with mean absolute differences of 14 +/- 10 and 1.2 +/- 1.2 Mm(-1) for the scattering and absorption coefficients, showing a better agreement for the absorption (scattering) coefficient with higher (lower) aerosol optical depth.     The academic community of the department of Risaralda, in its permanent interest in evidencing the results of the research processes that are carried out from the Higher Education Institutions and as a product of the VI meeting of researchers of the department of Risaralda held in November 2021 presents its work: “The journey of research as a challenge towards new trends”, which reflects the result of the latest research and advances in different lines of knowledge in Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Technology and Information Sciences, which seek to solve and meet the demands of the different sectors.     This book presents, through reflection, the relevance, timeliness and necessity of love, empathy and prosocial behaviors within the framework of the professional and disciplinary work of the authors. The reader will be able to find here what these professionals, academics and intellectuals think and feel about it. Let the reader know that it was not a simple writing project, maybe because of the invitation to think about oneself, maybe because of the presence of the concept of "love" in the academy, or maybe, because we are not so accustomed to putting in the first person the reflection turned from what we relate to day by day. May this text be the excuse to continue to reflect on the role of love, empathy and prosocial behavior in a world that sometimes shows great desolation.
