Standard Model CP violation in Polarised b->d l^+ l^-
In the standard model, we study CP violating rate asymmetries in the decay
b->d l^+ l^- when one of the leptons is polarised. We find an asymmetry of (5
-- 15)% in the polarised decay spectrum which is comparable to known results
for the unpolarised case. In the kinematic region separating the rho-omega and
resonances, which is also theoretically cleanest, the polarised
contribution to the asymmetry is larger than the unpolarised results. In order
to observe a 3 sigma signal for direct CP violation in the polarised spectrum,
assuming 100% efficiency, about 10^10 pairs are required at a B
factory. Our results indicate an asymmetric contribution from the individual
polarisation states to the unpolarised CP asymmetry. Taking advantage of this,
one can attribute any new physics to be most sensitive to a specific

Wigner crystal in snaked nanochannels
We study properties of Wigner crystal in snaked nanochannels and show that
they are characterized by conducting sliding phase at low charge densities and
insulating pinned phase emerging above a certain critical charge density. The
transition between these phases has a devil's staircase structure typical for
the Aubry transition in dynamical maps and the Frenkel-Kontorova model. We
discuss implications of this phenomenon for charge density waves in
quasi-one-dimensional organic conductors and for supercapacitors in nanopore

Study of Bs-> \phi l^+ l^-$ Decay in a Single Universal Extra Dimension
Utilizing form factors calculated within the light-cone sum rules, we have
evaluated the decay branching ratios of and in a single universal extra dimension model (UED), which is
viewed as one of the alternative theories beyond the standard model (SM). For
the decay , the dilepton invariant mass spectra, the
forward-backward asymmetry, and double lepton polarization are also calculated.
For each case, we compared the obtained results with predictions of the SM. In
lower values of the compactification factor 1/R, the only parameter in this
model, we see the considerable discrepancy between the UED and SM models.
However, when 1/R increases, the results of UED tend to diminish and at , two models have approximately the same predictions.
Compared with data from CDF of , the 1/R tends to be
larger than . We also note that the zero crossing point of
the forward-backward asymmetry is become smaller, which will be an important
plat to prob the contribution from the extra dimension model. The results
obtained in this work will be very useful in searching new physics beyond SM.
Moreover, the order of magnitude for branching ratios shows a possibility to
study these channels at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CDF and the future

The Rare Decay : A More Precise Calculation
Efforts to predict the rare exclusive decay from the
well known inclusive decay are frustrated by the effect of the
large recoil momentum. We show how to reduce the large uncertainty in
calculating this decay by relating to the semileptonic
process using the heavy-quark symmetry in B decays and
SU(3) flavor symmetry. A direct measurement of the -spectrum for the
semileptonic decay can provide accurate information for the exclusive rare

Exploring flavor structure of supersymmetry breaking from rare B decays and unitarity triangle
We study effects of supersymmetric particles in various rare B decay
processes as well as in the unitarity triangle analysis. We consider three
different supersymmetric models, the minimal supergravity, SU(5) SUSY GUT with
right-handed neutrinos, and the minimal supersymmetric standard model with U(2)
flavor symmetry. In the SU(5) SUSY GUT with right-handed neutrinos, we consider
two cases of the mass matrix of the right-handed neutrinos. We calculate direct
and mixing-induced CP asymmetries in the b to s gamma decay and CP asymmetry in
B_d to phi K_S as well as the B_s--anti-B_s mixing amplitude for the unitarity
triangle analysis in these models. We show that large deviations are possible
for the SU(5) SUSY GUT and the U(2) model. The pattern and correlations of
deviations from the standard model will be useful to discriminate the different

Risk profiles and one-year outcomes of patients with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation in India: Insights from the GARFIELD-AF Registry.
BACKGROUND: The Global Anticoagulant Registry in the FIELD-Atrial Fibrillation (GARFIELD-AF) is an ongoing prospective noninterventional registry, which is providing important information on the baseline characteristics, treatment patterns, and 1-year outcomes in patients with newly diagnosed non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). This report describes data from Indian patients recruited in this registry. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 52,014 patients with newly diagnosed AF were enrolled globally; of these, 1388 patients were recruited from 26 sites within India (2012-2016). In India, the mean age was 65.8 years at diagnosis of NVAF. Hypertension was the most prevalent risk factor for AF, present in 68.5% of patients from India and in 76.3% of patients globally (P < 0.001). Diabetes and coronary artery disease (CAD) were prevalent in 36.2% and 28.1% of patients as compared with global prevalence of 22.2% and 21.6%, respectively (P < 0.001 for both). Antiplatelet therapy was the most common antithrombotic treatment in India. With increasing stroke risk, however, patients were more likely to receive oral anticoagulant therapy [mainly vitamin K antagonist (VKA)], but average international normalized ratio (INR) was lower among Indian patients [median INR value 1.6 (interquartile range {IQR}: 1.3-2.3) versus 2.3 (IQR 1.8-2.8) (P < 0.001)]. Compared with other countries, patients from India had markedly higher rates of all-cause mortality [7.68 per 100 person-years (95% confidence interval 6.32-9.35) vs 4.34 (4.16-4.53), P < 0.0001], while rates of stroke/systemic embolism and major bleeding were lower after 1 year of follow-up. CONCLUSION: Compared to previously published registries from India, the GARFIELD-AF registry describes clinical profiles and outcomes in Indian patients with AF of a different etiology. The registry data show that compared to the rest of the world, Indian AF patients are younger in age and have more diabetes and CAD. Patients with a higher stroke risk are more likely to receive anticoagulation therapy with VKA but are underdosed compared with the global average in the GARFIELD-AF. Mapping local patterns of childhood overweight and wasting in low- and middle-income countries between 2000 and 2017
A double burden of malnutrition occurs when individuals, household members or communities experience both undernutrition and overweight. Here, we show geospatial estimates of overweight and wasting prevalence among children under 5 years of age in 105 low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) from 2000 to 2017 and aggregate these to policy-relevant administrative units. Wasting decreased overall across LMICs between 2000 and 2017, from 8.4 (62.3 (55.1�70.8) million) to 6.4 (58.3 (47.6�70.7) million), but is predicted to remain above the World Health Organization�s Global Nutrition Target of <5 in over half of LMICs by 2025. Prevalence of overweight increased from 5.2 (30 (22.8�38.5) million) in 2000 to 6.0 (55.5 (44.8�67.9) million) children aged under 5 years in 2017. Areas most affected by double burden of malnutrition were located in Indonesia, Thailand, southeastern China, Botswana, Cameroon and central Nigeria. Our estimates provide a new perspective to researchers, policy makers and public health agencies in their efforts to address this global childhood syndemic. © 2020, The Author(s)
