    Eficiencia de remoción de contaminantes con tres semiconductores en tratamiento fotocatalítico de aguas residuales del caserío de Cachiche - Ica 2018

    La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la eficiencia de remoción de contaminantes con tres semiconductores en tratamiento fotocatalítico de aguas residuales del Caserío de Cachiche - Ica 2018. La muestra de agua se obtuvo de la laguna de oxidación. Es aplicada y experimental. Se construyó el colector solar, los semiconductores fueron dióxido de titanio, óxido de zinc y dióxido de sílice, en concentración de 5 mg/l, 10 mg/l y 20 mg/l en solución en 1 litro de agua, el análisis de datos se realizó con el Diseño Completo al Azar (DCA) con 3 tratamientos (T1 =TiO2, T2 =ZnO y el T3=SiO2), tres repeticiones y 500 ml de agua contaminada como unidad experimental. Los resultados iniciales del agua fueron 7.81 en pH; 22 en temperatura (°C); 1.21mg/l en OD; 288. NTU en turbidez; 220 mg/l en DBO; 320.00 mg/l en DQO; 300 mg/l en SST; 2.80E+04 NMP/100 en Eschericia Coli; 32 NMP/100 en materia orgánica y 3.50E +05 en coliformes termotolerantes, siento el mejor tratamiento con el dióxido sílice fueron:7,92 en pH; 16,73 mg/l en OD; 26,03 NTU en turbidez ;9,17 mg/l en DBO;15,32 mg/l en DQO; 56,66 mg/l en SST; 446,66 NMP/100 en Eschericia Coli;16,66 NMP/100 en materia orgánica y 1036 NMP/100 en coliformes termotolerantes. Además, la eficiencia de remoción del 62%, en todos los parámetros evaluados también se demostró que los adsorbentes de los tres semiconductores tienen la capacidad para remover contaminantes de aguas residuales domésticas

    Teniendo en cuenta la importancia social que reviste el empleo en un país, no sólo como fuente de ingresos sino además como generador de dignidad y desarrollo personal de sus habitantes, creemos que esta variable debe estar comprendida en el centro de las discusiones y estudios sobre la región. Por este motivo, consideramos preciso examinar la evolución de indicadores y analizar distintas experiencias de fomento del empleo a través de las ONG’s, para así intentar comprender mejor la realidad de nuestros países en esta materia y difundir los esfuerzos realizados en su promoción. En el siguiente trabajo nos proponemos analizar las características y las acciones de fomento del empleo en Argentina y Bolivia a través del análisis de evolución de distintos indicadores y casos de la realidad. Para ello pretendemos determinar las características propias y comunes del empleo y su evolución en las últimas décadas en cada uno de estos países. Además, intentaremos examinar las propuestas y los resultados de casos específicos de fomento del empleo llevados a cabo por ONG´s de ambos países

    Intravitreal, retinal, and central nervous system foscarnet concentrations after rapid intravenous administration to rabbits

    Retinal, vitreous humor, brain, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) foscarnet levels were measured by high-performance liquid chromatography after administration of an intravenous dose of 120 mg/kg of body weight to 32 pigmented rabbits. A pharmacokinetic analysis was done using a two- compartment model. The penetration ratios, defined as ratios of retinal, vitreous humor, brain, and CSF areas under the concentration-time curve from 0 to 2 h were 110% ± 1%, 12.3% ± 0.7%, 118% ± 1%, and 20.2% ± 2.2%, respectively. These results suggest a good penetration of foscarnet into the retinal and brain tissues, reaching higher concentrations than those estimated from vitreous humor and CSF levels.Comisóión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología SAF97-0012Consejería de Salud Junta de Andalucía 64/9

    Pidotimod for Covid-19

    Covid-19 was the third leading cause of death in all of 2020, but in December 2020 and the beginning of 2021, the disease suddenly spiked and briefly became the number one cause of death in the United States (u.s.), particularly among those aged 35 years or older even though as of June 30, 2021, about 66% of adults in the u.s. have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose. At present, there is no drug to treat Covid-19 that can reduce the morbidity and mortality significantly, which has brought great panic to the society and scientific community. Antiviral agents and immune-modulating treatments are currently being trialed. Searches were conducted in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Academic, LitCovid, and MedRxiv for studies published from the beginning of 2000 through April 2021 that tested the clinical uses of pidotimod. Articles were selected prioritizing randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, and clinical practice guidelines. Research results showed that Immunotherapy proved to be an effective method for fighting against similar viral infections to Covid-19 such as sars-cov, and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (mers-cov). studies aimed to dilucidated the mechanism of action of pidotimod, as well as randomized clinical trials that evaluate the security and utility of the drug are needed. In this scenario, the administration of Pidotimod could represent a potentially innovative strategy. In conclusion, in patients with Covid-19 without pneumonia, pidotimod could be considered an option, well-tolerated, and associated with a rapid reduction of systemic symptoms of the diseas

    La presente investigación tesis tiene como objetivo principal el análisis realizado a Calessi, empresa de manufactura de metales, dedicada a la elaboración de ollas y menaje de aluminio para la cocina, donde se identificó una serie de problemas internos y externos que actualmente afectan las actividades económicas, y logísticas que no permiten expandir a la marca y lograr una mayor participación en el mercado. Como problema principal se encontró que Calessi ha caído en un estancamiento en sus ventas, es decir sus ganancias anuales son las mismas sin generar oportunidad de crecimiento debido a que mantiene la misma cartera de clientes y no cuenta con un plan de expansión de ventas, ni de marketing para dar a conocer su marca a nivel nacional. En ese sentido, se ha propuesto la implementación de un plan de ventas y marketing con el objetivo de incrementar sus ganancias, ganar mayor participación de mercado a nivel nacional, dar a conocer la marca y las bondades de sus propiedades como son la dureza, calidad y acabados que tiene. Por otro lado, se ha realizado un análisis tanto interno de sus procesos logísticos, financieros y comerciales con el objetivo de encontrar oportunidades de mejora y eficiencias en toda su cadena. Finalmente, se ha elaborado un Gantt que va de la mano con el plan de implementación de la nueva estrategia y recomendaciones que ayudaran a la gerencia general a iniciar una etapa de restructuración interna con el fin de poder expandir su marca y diversificar su riesgo que actualmente se encuentra centrado en unos pocos clientes.This thesis research has as main objective the analysis made to Calessi, a metal manufacturing company, dedicated to the preparation of pots and kitchenware for the kitchen, where a series of internal and external problems that currently affect economic activities were identified , and logistics that do not allow to expand the brand and achieve greater market share. As a main problem it was found that Calessi has fallen into stagnant sales, that is, its annual profits are the same without generating growth opportunities due to the fact that it maintains the same client portfolio and does not have a sales expansion plan or marketing to publicize your brand nationwide. In this sense, it has been proposed the implementation of a sales and marketing plan with the aim of increasing profits, gain greater market share at national level, publicize the brand and the benefits of its properties such as hardness, quality and finishes it has. On the other hand, an internal analysis of its logistics, financial and commercial processes has been carried out in order to find opportunities for improvement and efficiencies throughout its chain. Finally, a Gantt has been developed that goes hand in hand with the implementation plan of the new strategy and recommendations that will help the general management to initiate a stage of internal restructuring in order to expand its brand and diversify its risk that currently it is focused on a few clients.Tesi

    Update on the correlation of the highest energy cosmic rays with nearby extragalactic matter

    Data collected by the Pierre Auger Observatory through 31 August 2007 showed evidence for anisotropy in the arrival directions of cosmic rays above the Greisen-Zatsepin-Kuz'min energy threshold, \nobreak{6×10196\times 10^{19}eV}. The anisotropy was measured by the fraction of arrival directions that are less than 3.13.1^\circ from the position of an active galactic nucleus within 75 Mpc (using the V\'eron-Cetty and V\'eron 12th12^{\rm th} catalog). An updated measurement of this fraction is reported here using the arrival directions of cosmic rays recorded above the same energy threshold through 31 December 2009. The number of arrival directions has increased from 27 to 69, allowing a more precise measurement. The correlating fraction is (386+7)(38^{+7}_{-6})%, compared with 2121% expected for isotropic cosmic rays. This is down from the early estimate of (6913+11)(69^{+11}_{-13})%. The enlarged set of arrival directions is examined also in relation to other populations of nearby extragalactic objects: galaxies in the 2 Microns All Sky Survey and active galactic nuclei detected in hard X-rays by the Swift Burst Alert Telescope. A celestial region around the position of the radiogalaxy Cen A has the largest excess of arrival directions relative to isotropic expectations. The 2-point autocorrelation function is shown for the enlarged set of arrival directions and compared to the isotropic expectation.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astroparticle Physics on 31 August 201

    The Fluorescence Detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory

    The Pierre Auger Observatory is a hybrid detector for ultra-high energy cosmic rays. It combines a surface array to measure secondary particles at ground level together with a fluorescence detector to measure the development of air showers in the atmosphere above the array. The fluorescence detector comprises 24 large telescopes specialized for measuring the nitrogen fluorescence caused by charged particles of cosmic ray air showers. In this paper we describe the components of the fluorescence detector including its optical system, the design of the camera, the electronics, and the systems for relative and absolute calibration. We also discuss the operation and the monitoring of the detector. Finally, we evaluate the detector performance and precision of shower reconstructions.Comment: 53 pages.     Anisotropy and chemical composition of ultra-high energy cosmic rays using arrival directions measured by the Pierre Auger Observatory

    The Pierre Auger Collaboration has reported evidence for anisotropy in the distribution of arrival directions of the cosmic rays with energies E>Eth=5.5×1019E>E_{th}=5.5\times 10^{19} eV. These show a correlation with the distribution of nearby extragalactic objects, including an apparent excess around the direction of Centaurus A. If the particles responsible for these excesses at E>EthE>E_{th} are heavy nuclei with charge ZZ, the proton component of the sources should lead to excesses in the same regions at energies E/ZE/Z. We here report the lack of anisotropies in these directions at energies above Eth/ZE_{th}/Z (for illustrative values of Z=6, 13, 26Z=6,\ 13,\ 26). If the anisotropies above EthE_{th} are due to nuclei with charge ZZ, and under reasonable assumptions about the acceleration process, these observations imply stringent constraints on the allowed proton fraction at the lower energies

    Advanced functionality for radio analysis in the Offline software framework of the Pierre Auger Observatory

    The advent of the Auger Engineering Radio Array (AERA) necessitates the development of a powerful framework for the analysis of radio measurements of cosmic ray air showers. As AERA performs "radio-hybrid" measurements of air shower radio emission in coincidence with the surface particle detectors and fluorescence telescopes of the Pierre Auger Observatory, the radio analysis functionality had to be incorporated in the existing hybrid analysis solutions for fluoresence and surface detector data. This goal has been achieved in a natural way by extending the existing Auger Offline software framework with radio functionality. In this article, we lay out the design, highlights and features of the radio extension implemented in the Auger Offline framework. Its functionality has achieved a high degree of sophistication and offers advanced features such as vectorial reconstruction of the electric field, advanced signal processing algorithms, a transparent and efficient handling of FFTs, a very detailed simulation of detector effects, and the read-in of multiple data formats including data from various radio simulation codes.
