Introducció

El número 18 de la revista Quaderns de Filologia. Estudis literaris dedica el monogràfic a la investigació, l’anàlisi i la reflexió sobre el relat des d’una triple perspectiva: des de la literatura, des de la lectura i des de l’escriptura. Aquest triple vessant de la narració conflueix de manera habitual en un context particular: el de l’educació secundària. De fet, la presència del relat com a narració literària i alhora com a forma de lectura i d’escriptura en els documents dels diferents nivells educatius ha generat multitud de reflexions i estudis

Genealogía teórica e influencia práctica del Discurso sobre el fomento de la industria popular

La aparición del Discurso sobre el fomento de la industriapopular en 1774 por orden del Rey Carlos I11 y del Consejo de Castilla significó un hito singular en la historia del pensamiento económico en España. La ayuda de fondos públicos permitió una tirada excepcional de 30.000 ejemplares que en parte se distribuyó entre las autoridades, fuesen civiles, militares o eclesiásticas. Es difícil encontrar texto alguno de tono ilustrado o liberal hasta la cuarta década del siglo siguiente en que el Discurso no sea citado y elogiosamente. Las mismas Sociedades Económicas fueron convocadas a fundarse por este texto y asi lo hicieron constar hasta tal punto que leían pasajes suyos en sus correspondientes sesiones

La fisiocràcia a Espanya

La majoria dels historiadors que han tractat el segle XVIII espanyol, i especialment la introducció de la Il·lustració, han parlat, d'una manera o una altra, de la introducció d'un component important de la il·lustració francesa, la fisiocràcia. L'estudi clàssic de Sarrailh diu que «a Barcelona i a Madrid eren esgrimides com autoritats supremes les doctrines de Quesnay i Adam Smith, de Mirabeau o de Turgot».1 El coneixement dels fisiòcrates és, per a Sarrailh, normal entre els il·lustrats, de tal manera que «si els noms de Gournay i Quesnay no figuren a la llista d'economistes francesos assenyalats a l'atenció deIs espanyols pel duc d'Almodóvar a la seva Década episcolar, hi descobrim, en canvi, els del marquès de Mirabeau, de Turgot, de Necker, de l'Abbé Baudeau, etc»: Altres autors han precisat més les influencies. Un altre especialista en el segle XVII espanyol, Herr, si bé afirma que la majoria dels economistes espanyols eren eclèctics i no tenien idees pròpies, assenyala traduccions i citacions d'autors fisiòcrates. Àdhuc arriba a afirmar que Jovellanos era fisiòcrata

Utilizing small nutrient compounds as enhancers of exercise-induced mitochondrial biogenesis.

Endurance exercise, when performed regularly as part of a training program, leads to increases in whole-body and skeletal muscle-specific oxidative capacity. At the cellular level, this adaptive response is manifested by an increased number of oxidative fibers (Type I and IIA myosin heavy chain), an increase in capillarity and an increase in mitochondrial biogenesis. The increase in mitochondrial biogenesis (increased volume and functional capacity) is fundamentally important as it leads to greater rates of oxidative phosphorylation and an improved capacity to utilize fatty acids during sub-maximal exercise. Given the importance of mitochondrial biogenesis for skeletal muscle performance, considerable attention has been given to understanding the molecular cues stimulated by endurance exercise that culminate in this adaptive response. In turn, this research has led to the identification of pharmaceutical compounds and small nutritional bioactive ingredients that appear able to amplify exercise-responsive signaling pathways in skeletal muscle. The aim of this review is to discuss these purported exercise mimetics and bioactive ingredients in the context of mitochondrial biogenesis in skeletal muscle. We will examine proposed modes of action, discuss evidence of application in skeletal muscle in vivo and finally comment on the feasibility of such approaches to support endurance-training applications in humans

Challenge B: Human sciences in transition scenarios

Coordinators: Josep Martí Pérez (IMF, CSIC), Idoia Murga Castro (IH, CSIC).This challenge is formulated in terms of “humanities in transition,” that is, their approach and articulation in the face of the changes they must undergo to achieve the social weight that, due to their intrinsic relevance, should correspond to them. Faced with these situations that would demand a reinforcement in research and dissemination in diverse aspects of the humanities, from multiple perspectives, paradoxically an adverse panorama is drawn for the development and dissemination of humanistic knowledge, which concerns different factors. Some are related to the consideration of the area of knowledge itself, its organization within the scientific system, the questioning of its own limits, and the interaction with another knowledge. Considering current transition scenarios does not mean having to abandon old objectives, but it adds to the work conducted new objects of study closely related to current reality, such as: the informational revolution; the relations with the ecosystem and the environmental crisis; globalization; the intensification of human mobility and migration flows; the growing economic and social inequality; the frictions derived from the articulation of collective identities; the decolonization of discourses; demographic dynamics; integration of technological advances; and viability and support for alternative models of society.Peer reviewe
