A communication plan for a portuguese luxury multibrand: Stivali

The emerging of new technologies, the evolution of society and the new digital world’s age, are some of the main recent factors that affect any kind of economic sector. The Luxury sector is now strongly influenced by these, and some changes in the nature of the business are already happening. Moreover, luxury brands are facing some challenges in the adaptation of their strategies to the rigorous customer’s motivations and expectations. Hereupon, the focus will be in developing an innovative and effective Communication Plan proposal for a Portuguese luxury multibrand - Stivali. The main goal of this project is to increase Stivali’s awareness and knowledge, and create long-term relationships with clients. Furthermore, the project had in consideration these new trends in marketing communications, but also concerned in maintaining the high and exclusive status a luxury company requires. The literature review is based on academic articles which embrace overall studies concerning with two main subjects: communications and luxury. An internal and external analysis was conducted, in order to understand better the industry and the company in study. In addition, it was done an investigation close to luxury consumers to have a proper knowledge on how customers interact with luxury brands. Finally, the activities developed throughout the communication plan took into account all the research findings and were carefully suggested to meet Stivali’s main goals.O aparecimento de novas tecnologias, a evolução da sociedade e a nova era do mundo digital, são alguns dos principais e recentes factores, que afetam qualquer tipo de setor económico. O luxo é hoje, fortemente influenciado por estes fatores, e algumas mudanças na natureza do negócio já começam a acontecer. Para além disso, as marcas de luxo enfrentam alguns desafios na adaptação das suas estratégias às exigências dos consumidores, relativamente às suas motivações e expectativas. Posto isto, o foco será no desenvolvimento de uma proposta de um plano de comunicação inovador e eficaz, para uma multimarca de luxo portuguesa – Stivali. O principal objectivo deste projeto é aumentar o conhecimento da Stivali junto dos consumidores, e construir relações duradouras com os mesmos. No entanto, todo o projeto teve em consideração as novas tendências na comunicação, mas também a preocupação em manter o estatuto exclusivo e de alto nivel, exigido pela empresa. A revisão de literatura é baseada em artigos académicos que englobam estudos sobre dois assuntos principais: comunicação e luxo. Foi realizada uma análise interna e externa, com o intuito de compreender melhor a indústria e a empresa em estudo. Seguidamente, foi realizada uma investigação a consumidores de luxo, para adquirir um conhecimento apropriado sobre de que forma os consumidores interagem com as marcas de luxo. Finalmente, as atividades desenvolvidas no plano de comunicação tiveram em conta os resultados da pesquisa e foram cuidadosamente sugeridas a fim de atingir os principais objetivos da Stivali

Grammatical and musical concept of "syllable" in Antiquity and its current connotations: a diachronic analysis

Este trabajo pretende presentar el origen mismo del término “sílaba”, que tuvo diversos matices en la época antigua y fue aplicado en distintos ramos de estudio, y la conexión que, de alguna manera, mantienen disciplinas tan aparentemente distantes como la Música y la Gramática. Para ello, se hará una revisión diacrónica de este concepto en las gramáticas antiguas, en ciertos tratados y/o autores musicales y en las obras gramaticales y lexicográficas más representativas en lengua española y de época variada.Este trabalho pretende apresentar a origem do termo ‘sílaba’, que teve diversos matizes na época antiga e foi aplicado em diversos ramos de estudo, e a conexão que, de algum modo, mantêm disciplinas aparentemente tão distantes como a Música e a Gramática. Para isso, far-se-á uma revisão diacrónica deste conceito nas gramáticas antigas, em certos tratados e/ou autores musicais e nas obras gramaticais e lexicográficas mais representativas em língua espanhola e de épocas variadas.Dans cet article, nous nous proposons de présenter l’origine du terme ‘syllabe’ – celui-ci ayant revêtu, sous l’Antiquité, des nuances différentes et été appliqué à des domaines d’étude distincts – et la liaison qui, d’une certaine façon, existe entre des disciplines apparemment si lointaines, comme la Musique et la Grammaire. J-PLUS : impact of bars on quenching timescales in nearby green valley disc galaxies

Context. Between the blue cloud and the red sequence peaks on the galaxy colour–magnitude diagram there is a region sparsely populated by galaxies called the green valley. In a framework where galaxies mostly migrate on the colour–magnitude diagram from star forming to quiescent, the green valley is considered a transitional galaxy stage. The details of the processes that drive galaxies from star-forming to passive systems still remain unknown. Aims.We aim to measure the transitional timescales of nearby galaxies across the green valley, through the analysis of Galaxy Evolution Explorer and Javalambre Photometric of Local Universe Survey photometric data. Specifically, we seek to study the impact of bars on the quenching timescales. Methods. We developed a method that estimates empirically the star formation quenching timescales of green valley galaxies, assuming an exponential decay model of the star formation histories and through a combination of narrow and broad bands from the Javalambre Photometric of Local Universe Survey and Galaxy Evolution Explorer. We correlated these quenching timescales with the presence of bars. Results.We find that the Javalambre Photometric of Local Universe Survey colours F0395 g and F0410 g are sensitive to di erent star formation histories, showing, consequently, a clear correlation with the Dn(4000) and H ;A spectral indices.We measured quenching timescales based on these colours and we find that quenching timescales obtained with our new approach are in agreement with those determined using spectral indices. We also compared the quenching timescales of green valley disc galaxies as a function of the probability of hosting a bar. We find that galaxies with high bar probability tend to quench their star formation slowly. Conclusions. We conclude that: (1) Javalambre Photometric of Local Universe Survey filters can be used to measure quenching timescales in nearby green valley galaxies; and (2) the resulting star formation quenching timescales are longer for barred green valley galaxies. Considering that the presence of a bar indicates that more violent processes (e.g. major mergers) are absent in host galaxies, we conclude that the presence of a bar can be used as a morphological signature for slow star formation quenching

Creativity assessment is a challenging topic and several methodologies have been proposed, all with advantages and limitations. If figurative, they can end up over evaluating a design component that not everyone appreciates or invests in. If they take the form of a scale of self-perception or assessment by others, they become more permeable to social desirability. In previous studies we have worked with the Test for Creative Thinking-Drawing Production (TCT-DP), due to its figurative nature, simplicity of application and its factorial structure that identifies two dimensions of thought, conventional and unconventional, essential to creative thinking. However, some questions about the validity of instruments for evaluating creative thinking have been raised. Thus, we propose a quantitative assessment of the creativity levels of a specific group of individuals who work in innovation and creativity companies. In exploratory terms, we intend a finer analysis of the quotation criteria that seem to be associated with higher levels of creativity. We also propose the inclusion of three criteria centred on the subjective assessment of the quoter: the Impact Scale, the Integration Scale and the Adequacy Scale. The 29 participants (8 males and 21 females) are aged between 23 and 48 years of eight different nationalities, with higher education and work in companies in the areas of creativity and innovation. They have a higher average level of creativity than workers in general, as well as higher levels of unconventional thinking and conventional thinking. The most creative are also subjectively the best rated in terms of Impact, Integration and Adequacy and the highest rated in terms of Mood. With this exploratory study, we hope to contribute to the construct validity of the TCT-DP and identification of the most differentiating criteria of highly creative individuals.A avaliação da criatividade é um tópico desafiante e várias metodologias têm sido propostas, todas com vantagens e limitações. Se figurativas, podem acabar por sobre avaliar uma componente de desenho que nem todos apreciam nem investem. Se assumem a forma de escala de auto-percepção ou de avaliação por terceiros, tornamse mais permeáveis à desejabilidade social. Em estudos anteriores temos trabalhado com o Test for Creative Thinking-Drawing Production (TCT-DP), pela natureza figurativa, simplicidade na aplicação e pela sua estrutura factorial que identifica duas dimensões de pensamento, convencional e não convencional, essenciais ao pensamento criativo. Contudo, algumas questões sobre a validade dos instrumentos de avaliação do pensamento criativo, têm sido levantadas. Assim, propomos uma avaliação quantitativa dos níveis de criatividade de um grupo específico de indivíduos que trabalha em empresas de inovação e criatividade. Em termos exploratórios, pretendemos uma análise mais fina dos critérios de cotação que parecem estar associados aos níveis mais elevados de criatividade. Propomos ainda a inclusão de três critérios centrados na avaliação subjectiva do cotador: a Escala de Impacto, a Escala de Integração e a Escala de Adequação. Os 29 participantes (8 do sexo masculino e 21 do sexo feminino) têm idades compreendidas entre 23 e 48 anos, oito nacionalidades diferentes, escolaridade de nível superior e trabalham em empresas nas áreas da criatividade e inovação. Apresentam um nível médio de criatividade superior à dos trabalhadores em geral, bem como níveis superiores de pensamento não convencional e pensamento convencional. Os mais criativos são também os subjetivamente mais bem avaliados em termos de Impacto, Integração e Adequação e mais bem cotados em termos de Humor. Estudo preliminar do teste Test for Creative Thinking-Drawing Production (TCT-DP)

We intent to do a preliminary study of the test TCT-DP - Test of Creative Thinking and Drawing Production of Urban e Jellen (1986), that aims an holistic evaluation of the divergent thinking. The test (Forms A and B) is based on some fragments of pictures which the subjects must complete freely. Our sample, collected among certain Lisbon Human Resourses Consultant Companies, involves 169 adult (over 18 years old) portuguese workers with diverse Literary and Professional competences. Beyond some aspects of the instrument adaptation to the portuguese population, some studies were made about que psychometric properties of the instrument with our sample. This study pointed out some clues for further studies, and sugests the enlargement of the sample as well their diversification.On veut accomplir une étude préliminaire du test TCT-DP - Test of Creative Thinking and Drawing Production, des auteurs Urban et Jellen ( 1986), que vise une analyse holistique du raisonnement divergent. Le test (Formes A et B) se fonde en quelques fragments de figures que les sujets doivent accomplir de la façon dont ils veut. L’échantillon d’on nous avons parti, obtenu a partir de quelques Entreprises de Récrutement de la région de Lisbonne, est composé par 169 employés portugais, avec plus de 18 ans et avec plusieurs habilitations litéraires et profissionels. Au-delà de l’adaptation de l’instrument à la population portugaise, on a realisé quelques études sur les qualités psichometriques du test pour la population considerée. Complexos de ruténio como potenciais agentes terapêuticos: estudos dos mecanismos de captação celular e modulação de enzimas metabólicas

Tese de mestrado em Química Inorgânica (Aplicações em Diagnóstico e Terapia), apresentada à Universidade de Lisboa, através da Faculdade de Ciências, 2012Os complexos de metais de transição têm demonstrado serem bons candidatos como agentes antitumorais. Para que o seu efeito terapêutico seja eficaz, os complexos devem ser capturados pela célula e interagir com alvos intracelulares. A exploração dos mecanismos de transporte celular é de extrema importância na avaliação do seu potencial terapêutico. Uma das características das células tumorais é apresentarem disfunção metabólica, i.e., elevada actividade glicolítica conhecida como efeito de Warburg. A interacção de compostos metálicos antitumorais com proteínas/enzimas celulares tem constituído actualmente uma área de investigação de grande interesse, como uma tentativa de identificação de outros alvos celulares para além do ADN. Resultados recentes obtidos pela equipa FCUL-CTN/IST revelaram que alguns compostos de Ru (II) são citotóxicos em algumas linhas celulares tumorais humanas. Pretendeu-se então estudar os mecanismos de captação de compostos de Ru (II), como potenciais agentes antitumorais usando moduladores do transporte celular e estudaram-se as interacções desses compostos com alvos celulares relacionados com o metabolismo (enzimas glicolíticos, enzimas redox da membrana celular, sistemas de transporte de membrana).The transition metal complexes have shown to be good candidates as antitumor agents. For their therapeutic effect to be efficient, the complexes must enter the cell and interact with intracellular targets. The exploitation of the mechanisms of cellular transport is extremely important in evaluating the therapeutic potential. One of the characteristics of tumor cells is exhibiting metabolic dysfunction, i.e., high glycolytic activity known as Warburg effect. The interaction of antitumor metal compounds with cellular proteins/enzymes has constituted an area of research currently of great interest as an attempt to identify other cellular targets besides DNA. Recent results obtained by the team FCUL-CTN/IST revealed that some compounds of Ru (II) are cytotoxic for some human tumor cell lines. It was intended to study the mechanisms of uptake of Ru (II) compounds, as potential antitumor agents using modulators of cellular transport and the interactions of the compounds with cellular targets related to metabolism (glycolic enzymes, redox enzymes of cellular membrane, transport membrane systems) were also studied

De Castelo Velho a Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval (Évora). Percurso histórico-arquitetónico do conjunto e proposta de salvaguarda e valorização

A presente dissertação centra-se na questão histórico-arquitetónica do Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval, em Évora, desde o momento em que foi erguido sobre as ruínas do Castelo Velho até à sua atualidade. Para um melhor entendimento deste Palácio é necessário inseri-lo no grande complexo que engloba também a Igreja e o Convento dos Lóios, por estarem intrinsecamente ligados desde a sua origem. No primeiro capítulo, procede-se ao estudo histórico e caracterização arquitetónica do Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval, e a uma comparação entre modelos semelhantes. No segundo capítulo, analisa-se a Igreja-Panteão de São João Evangelista, pertencente ao Palácio Cadaval, e o Convento dos Lóios, bem como a sua posterior adaptação a Pousada. No terceiro e último capítulo faz-se um balanço entre os desafios e soluções do Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval no tempo atual e é apresentada uma proposta de salvaguarda e valorização patrimonial; From Old Castle to Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval (Évora). Historical-Architectural Path of the Building Complex and Proposal for Safeguarding and Valorization. Abstract: The present dissertation focuses on the historical-architectural issue of the Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval, in Évora, from the moment of its construction on the ruins of the Old Castle to the present day. To better understand this Palace, it is necessary to insert it in the large complex that also includes the Lóios’ Convent and Church, as they are intrinsically linked since their origin. In the first chapter a historical study and architectural characterization of the Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval is undertaken, as well as a comparison between similar models. The second chapter analyses the Church-Pantheon of St John the Evangelist, belonging to the Cadaval Palace, and the Lóios Convent, as well as its adaptation to a Pousada (or Hotel). In the third and final chapter the challenges and solutions of the Dukes of Cadaval Palace in the present day are taken stock of, and a proposal for heritage safeguarding and valorization is presented

O conhecimento sobre a distribuição de espécies de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMAs) ainda é restrito e as variações morfológicas observadas em isolados de uma mesma espécie podem proporcionar subsídios adicionais para o entendimento dos caracteres usados na taxonomia do grupo. Os objetivos deste trabalho foram implementar dados sobre a ocorrência de Acaulospora koskei Blaszk. e Acaulospora bireticulata Rothwell & Trappe encontradas em áreas de Floresta de Araucaria angustifolia em São Paulo, Brasil, bem como comparar a descrição dessas espécies com a de outras similares.Our knowledge of species distribution in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) is still limited and morphological variations found in isolates of one species may provide additional insight for understanding the characters used in the taxonomy of this group.
