Modelado de procesos de negocio para la gestión de la oferta educativa en sus procedimientos: gestión de nuevos registros calificados y gestión para la renovación de registro calificado de los programas académicos de la ECBTI de la UNAD.

La ECBTI (Escuela de Ciencias Básicas e Ingeniería), en la actualidad está soportando todas sus actividades desde los procesos y procedimientos generados por la alta dirección de la universidad, establecidos con formatos procedimentales, muchos de ellos sin sistemas de información y con soporte tecnológico básico, basado en herramientas de gestión. Es así como el presente proyecto toma el proceso de gestión de la oferta educativa en sus procedimientos: nuevo registro calificado y renovación de registro (p-8-1 y p-8-3), para dar inicio a lo que posterior será un diseño arquitectónico que cubra todas las instancias y requerimientos de la ECBTI. El inicio de la arquitectura aquí propuesta utiliza como framework de trabajo TOGAF y de este se abordan las fases: preliminar, visión de arquitectura, arquitectura de negocios, arquitecturas de sistemas de información y arquitectura de tecnología. Las siguientes fases no serán objeto de estudio, requieren de implementación tecnología para ser abordadas. De las fases revisadas quizá las que requieren mayor punto de atención están referidas a los sistemas de información y la tecnología, como se podrá evidenciar al revisar el documento.The ECBTI (School of Basic Sciences and Engineering), is currently supporting all of its activities from the processes and procedures generated by the top management of the university, established with procedural formats, many of them without information systems and with basic technological support, based on management tools. Análisis de riesgos y recomendaciones de seguridad de la información al área de información y tecnología del hospital Susana López de Valencia de la ciudad de Popayán.

Imágenes, Tablas y DiagramasEn la actualidad se puede considerar la Información como el activo más importante de una organización, tan importante como los activos comerciales o físicos, llegando a convertirse en algunos casos como el pilar fundamental para el buen funcionamiento de la misma organización, por tal caso esta debe ser protegida adecuadamente, al estar expuesta a un número cada vez mayor y una variedad más amplia de amenazas y vulnerabilidades. Por otro lado la información puede ser almacenada en diferentes formatos y dispositivos, por lo tanto es necesario implementar estrategias como el SGSI que garantice dada una eventualidad, la continuidad, integridad, confidencialidad y disponibilidad de la información. En el sector público y en las entidades de salud cobra mayor importancia la necesidad de proteger la información personal y de historias clínicas que de los pacientes se genera. De ahí la necesidad y la importancia de generar un proyecto que permita a partir de la utilización de normas y estándares internacionales como ISO 27000, COBIT, MAGERIT, entre otras la realización de un análisis de riesgos y con base en ese análisis generar las recomendaciones necesarias que permitan definir un plan de gestión del riesgo para minimizarlos y garantizar un nivel adecuado de protección y seguridad a la información soportada por el área de información y tecnología del Hospital Susana López de Valencia. Como resultados importantes obtenidos se puede mencionar la construcción de las políticas de seguridad para los sistemas de información y procesos más importantes desarrollados por el área de información y tecnología del Hospital Susana López de Valencia.Presently may be considered the information as the most important asset of an organization, as important as the physical assets or business, becoming in some cases as the cornerstone for the successful operation of the organization, so the above should adequately protected, when exposed to a growing number and a wide variety of threats and vulnerabilities. On the other hand, the information also must be stored in different formats and devices, so it is necessary to implement strategies as the ISMS, if is given an eventuality, continuity, integrity, confidentiality and availability of information. In the public sector and healthcare entities becomes more important the need to protect personal information and medical records of patients is generated. Evaluación del paico Chenopodium ambrosioides y chocho Lupinus mutabilis Sweet como antiparasitarios gastrointestinales en bovinos jóvenes

Las pérdidas producidas por parásitos internos en bovinos son incalculables, de ahí la necesidad de establecer mecanismos de reducirlas con el uso de tratamientos alternativos a los químicos. Se evaluó el suministro del extracto acuoso del paico (Chenopodium ambrosioides) y del extracto fitoquímico de chocho (Lupinus mutábilis Sweet) en el control de parásitos gastrointestinales en bovinos de 4 a 18 meses de edad, en diferentes dosis por kg de peso corporal con una y dos aplicaciones, frente a un testigo absoluto sin aplicación de producto y a un testigo convencional con aplicación de Fenbendazol. Se evaluaron 10 tratamientos con 4 repeticiones representados por un animal como unidad experimental, los cuales fueron asignados en un Diseño de Bloques Completos al Azar. Se analizó el recuento e identificación de huevos de parásitos gastrointestinales pre-aplicación, la efectividad de los productos, la curva de reinfestación de los productos efectivos, la ganancia diaria de peso y los costos de cada tratamiento. Los resultados muestran que los géneros de parásitos encontrados fueron Trichostrongylus sp., Haemonchus sp.y Eimeria sp. Los productos orgánicos y el control químico mostraron una efectividad hasta del 100% en la reducción del número de huevos de parásitos gastrointestinales dependiendo de la dosis y el número de aplicaciones. El periodo de reinfestación depende de la residualidad del producto y se evidencia a partir del día 30 post-aplicación. La ganancia diaria de peso no fue significativamente influenciada por la parasitosis de los animales. Los productos orgánicos constituyen una estrategia económicamente factible para el control de parásitos gastrointestinales

The Research Journey as a Challenge Towards New Trends

Prognostic implications of comorbidity patterns in critically ill COVID-19 patients: A multicenter, observational study

Background The clinical heterogeneity of COVID-19 suggests the existence of different phenotypes with prognostic implications. We aimed to analyze comorbidity patterns in critically ill COVID-19 patients and assess their impact on in-hospital outcomes, response to treatment and sequelae. Methods Multicenter prospective/retrospective observational study in intensive care units of 55 Spanish hospitals. 5866 PCR-confirmed COVID-19 patients had comorbidities recorded at hospital admission; clinical and biological parameters, in-hospital procedures and complications throughout the stay; and, clinical complications, persistent symptoms and sequelae at 3 and 6 months. Findings Latent class analysis identified 3 phenotypes using training and test subcohorts: low-morbidity (n=3385; 58%), younger and with few comorbidities; high-morbidity (n=2074; 35%), with high comorbid burden; and renal-morbidity (n=407; 7%), with chronic kidney disease (CKD), high comorbidity burden and the worst oxygenation profile. Renal-morbidity and high-morbidity had more in-hospital complications and higher mortality risk than low-morbidity (adjusted HR (95% CI): 1.57 (1.34-1.84) and 1.16 (1.05-1.28), respectively). Corticosteroids, but not tocilizumab, were associated with lower mortality risk (HR (95% CI) 0.76 (0.63-0.93)), especially in renal-morbidity and high-morbidity. Renal-morbidity and high-morbidity showed the worst lung function throughout the follow-up, with renal-morbidity having the highest risk of infectious complications (6%), emergency visits (29%) or hospital readmissions (14%) at 6 months (p<0.01). Interpretation Comorbidity-based phenotypes were identified and associated with different expression of in-hospital complications, mortality, treatment response, and sequelae, with CKD playing a major role. This could help clinicians in day-to-day decision making including the management of post-discharge COVID-19 sequelae. Copyright (C) 2022 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier Ltd

La diseminación de la Levitación Magnética, a pesar de lo antiguo de su tecnología, ha sido limitada. Debido a sus inconvenientes prácticos de implementación, su uso es bastante restringido, comparado con otras tecnologías (SCMaglev japonés, Transrapid alemán, o productos comerciales para ocio y entretenimiento). Con el boom de las tecnologías limpias y amigables con el medio ambiente y en concordancia con los objetivos del milenio, es pertinente plantearse el objetivo de optimizar el proceso de Levitación Magnética para generar un aprovechamiento de las ventajas de esta tecnología a nivel mecánico, eléctrico, y ambiental.&nbsp; Actualmente la UNAD adelanta un proyecto de investigación cuyo objetivo es generar un modelo físico matemático de levitación magnética para aplicaciones en ingeniería. The Polarized Image of a Synchrotron-emitting Ring of Gas Orbiting a Black Hole

Abstract: Synchrotron radiation from hot gas near a black hole results in a polarized image. The image polarization is determined by effects including the orientation of the magnetic field in the emitting region, relativistic motion of the gas, strong gravitational lensing by the black hole, and parallel transport in the curved spacetime. We explore these effects using a simple model of an axisymmetric, equatorial accretion disk around a Schwarzschild black hole. By using an approximate expression for the null geodesics derived by Beloborodov and conservation of the Walker–Penrose constant, we provide analytic estimates for the image polarization. We test this model using currently favored general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic simulations of M87*, using ring parameters given by the simulations. For a subset of these with modest Faraday effects, we show that the ring model broadly reproduces the polarimetric image morphology. Our model also predicts the polarization evolution for compact flaring regions, such as those observed from Sgr A* with GRAVITY. With suitably chosen parameters, our simple model can reproduce the EVPA pattern and relative polarized intensity in Event Horizon Telescope images of M87*. Under the physically motivated assumption that the magnetic field trails the fluid velocity, this comparison is consistent with the clockwise rotation inferred from total intensity images
