Introduction: This study assessed the psychometric properties of the Spanish translation of the Depressive Experiences Questionnaire (DEQ). This questionnaire measures two different personality dimensions vulnerable to two different subtypes of depression, anaclitic depression and introjective depression, respectively. Objectives: The aims of this study are to assess the psychometric properties of Spanish translation of Depressive Experiences Questionnaire and its relationship with attachment styles. Method: The sample (N = 416) consisted of undergraduate students with a mean of 27.63 (ST = 10.98) years old. The administration was collective and taken under the supervision of the researcher. Results: The results showed good internal consistency, similar to that of other studies. The findings showed significant relationships with other instruments measuring depressive symptomatology and confirmed the hypothesis of a relationship between the DEQ and attachment style. Conclusion: The Spanish version of the DEQ could be an instrument for distinguishing the types of personality vulnerability to different expressions of depression in the Spanish population. Summary. This paper contains a bibliographic and a bibliometric review of the Portrait Values Questionnaire(PVQ), the instrument proposed by Schwartz to assess human values. Schwartz’s theory of human values is oneof the most popular of its kind in the social sciences. To set out the framework of the PVQ, we shall briefly presentthe underlying theory, followed by a discussion of the different instruments developed by Schwartz to assess humanvalues. Finally, we have performed a detailed review to analyse how the PVQ has been used in the scholarly literature.A total of 58 articles were reviewed to obtain a picture of how the scientific community uses this instrumentand to explore the variables most commonly related to human values. Several conclusions are briefly discussed.Resum.

Parental perception of child vulnerability and parental competence: The role of postnatal depression and parental stress in fathers and mothers

Introduction: Parents' perception that their child may be vulnerable to serious life-threatening illnesses can have negative effects on how they exercise their parenting. No studies have yet been carried out on parent´s perception of their child’s vulnerability, when the child has not suffered a severe illness. This study tries to analyze the relationship between parent´s perception of their children´s vulnerability and parental competence, and analyzes the mediating role of postnatal depression and parental stress. Method: The study was carried out on mothers and fathers of full-term infants who did not have any serious illnesses. A total of 965 people (385 fathers and 580 mothers) participated in the study. Results: The results revealed an association between parental perception of their child’s vulnerability and parent’s perception of parental competence through depression and parental stress. However, this association was different for fathers and mothers. Conclusion: The variable of perception of child’s vulnerability was a relevant factor to understand parental competence. This work was funded by the General Sub-Directorate for Evaluation and Promotion of Research (Institute of Health Carlos III, ISCIII) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) ``A way to make Europe'' (Project reference PI14/01549)

    Lactide-Valerolactone Copolymers for Packaging Applications

Lactide-valerolactone copolymers have potential application in the packaging sector. Different copolymers were synthesized, and the kinetics of the copolymerization reactions and the microstructure of the copolymers were analysed. Lactide showed higher reactivity than valerolactone which leads to composition drift through the reaction. Thermal, mechanical and barrier properties of the selected copolymers were studied. Overall, the incorporation of valerolactone results in copolymers with higher ductility than poly(lactide) with intermediate water and oxygen permeability which makes these materials appropriate candidates for use in the packaging sector. The financial support from the Basque Government (GC IT-1313-19, PPGA 19/18 and GIU 19/077) and the Spanish Ministry of Innovation and Competitiveness MINECO (PID2019-106236GB-I00) is acknowledged. Background: Although surgical resection is the only potentially curative treatment for pancreatic cancer (PC), long-term outcomes of this treatment remain poor. The aim of this study is to describe the feasibility of a neoadjuvant treatment with induction polychemotherapy (IPCT) followed by chemoradiation (CRT) in resectable PC, and to develop a machine-learning algorithm to predict risk of relapse. Methods: Forty patients with resectable PC treated in our institution with IPCT (based on mFOLFOXIRI, GEMOX or GEMOXEL) followed by CRT (50 Gy and concurrent Capecitabine) were retrospectively analyzed. Additionally, clinical, pathological and analytical data were collected in order to perform a 2-year relapse-risk predictive population model using machine-learning techniques. Results: A R0 resection was achieved in 90% of the patients. After a median follow-up of 33.5 months, median progression-free survival (PFS) was 18 months and median overall survival (OS) was 39 months. The 3 and 5-year actuarial PFS were 43.8% and 32.3%, respectively. The 3 and 5-year actuarial OS were 51.5% and 34.8%, respectively. Forty-percent of grade 3-4 IPCT toxicity, and 29.7% of grade 3 CRT toxicity were reported. Considering the use of granulocyte colony-stimulating factors, the number of resected lymph nodes, the presence of perineural invasion and the surgical margin status, a logistic regression algorithm predicted the individual 2-year relapse-risk with an accuracy of 0.71 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.56-0.84, p = 0.005). The model-predicted outcome matched 64% of the observed outcomes in an external dataset. Conclusion: An intensified multimodal neoadjuvant approach (IPCT + CRT) in resectable PC is feasible, with an encouraging long-term outcome. Machine-learning algorithms might be a useful tool to predict individual risk of relapse. A small sample size and therapy heterogeneity remain as potential limitations

Cross-basin and cross-taxa patterns of marine community tropicalization and deborealization in warming European seas.

Ocean warming and acidification, decreases in dissolved oxygen concentrations, and changes in primary production are causing an unprecedented global redistribution of marine life. The identification of underlying ecological processes underpinning marine species turnover, particularly the prevalence of increases of warm-water species or declines of cold-water species, has been recently debated in the context of ocean warming. Here, we track changes in the mean thermal affinity of marine communities across European seas by calculating the Community Temperature Index for 65 biodiversity time series collected over four decades and containing 1,817 species from different communities (zooplankton, coastal benthos, pelagic and demersal invertebrates and fish). We show that most communities and sites have clearly responded to ongoing ocean warming via abundance increases of warm-water species (tropicalization, 54%) and decreases of cold-water species (deborealization, 18%). Tropicalization dominated Atlantic sites compared to semi-enclosed basins such as the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas, probably due to physical barrier constraints to connectivity and species colonization. Semi-enclosed basins appeared to be particularly vulnerable to ocean warming, experiencing the fastest rates of warming and biodiversity loss through deborealization
