    Atención temprana centrada en la familia: confianza, competencia y calidad de vida

    Family Quality of Life (FQoL) is considered the main goal of Early Intervention (EI) and an indicator of the quality of support services. The effectiveness of EI programs should be objectified by considering this construct along with other family outcomes, in addition to those related to the child’s progress and functional performance. To this end, this study analyzes the FQoL and the parental confidence and competence of 43 Spanish families of children from 0 to 6 years old in EI. We examine the predictive and mediating role of parental confidence and competence in FQoL through a correlational and descriptive cross-sectional study. The measures used are the Everyday Parenting Scale (modified version) and the Con-Fam scale, which measures parental competence in EI. Likewise, the Families in Early Intervention Quality of Life (FEIQoL) is used. The results indicate an acceptable perception of FQoL, as well as parental confidence and competence. There is a strong direct relationship between family confidence and competence and FQoL. It is found that EI service characteristics such as a greater number of professionals are related to lower parental confidence and competence, worse perception of the child’s functioning and, consequently, lower FQoL. Implications for future studies and prospective for services are presented.La calidad de vida familiar (CdVF) es considerada el objetivo último de la intervención en Atención Temprana (AT) y un indicador de la calidad de estos servicios. La eficacia de los programas de AT debe objetivarse considerando este constructo junto con otros resultados familiares, además de los relativos al progreso del menor. A este efecto, el presente estudio analiza la CdVF y la confianza y competencia parental de 43 familias españolas de niños y niñas de 0 a 6 años en AT, y examina el rol predictor y mediador de la confianza y competencia parental en la CdVF. Se lleva a cabo un estudio transversal, correlacional y descriptivo. Las medidas utilizadas son la Everyday Parenting Scale (versión modificada) y la escala Con-Fam de competencia parental en AT. Asimismo, se utiliza la Escala de Calidad de Vida de las familias en Atención Temprana (FEIQoL). Los resultados indican una percepción aceptable de CdVF, así como de confianza y competencia parental de las familias. Existe una fuerte relación directa entre la confianza y competencia parental y la CdVF. Se encuentra que características de servicio de AT como un mayor número de profesionales se relacionan con una menor confianza y competencia parental, una peor percepción del funcionamiento del niño y, en consecuencia, menos CdVF. Se presentan implicaciones para futuros estudios y prospectiva para los servicios

    Hacia un diagnóstico diferencial temprano en el trastorno del espectro autista y el síndrome de X frágil. Una revisión sistemática

    Introduction. Nearly 60% of those diagnosed with fragile X syndrome show comorbidity with autism. Thus, there are similarities and differences between both conditions that lead to very different clinical manifestations. However, an early differential diagnosis may help professionals to detect deficits and enhance strengths to apply the best suitable intervention. The purpose of this scoping review was to provide a comprehensive overview of the relation and the differences between autism and fragile X syndrome to orientate diagnosis and intervention. Materials and methods. The research for articles was carried out in PsycInfo, Medline, SCOPUS and Web of Science, including scientific articles published from 2010 to 2020 and children aged 0-6 years. The scoping review followed the PRISMA-ScR criteria. Results. 22 studies were selected. Results were reviewed in terms of structural and morphological changes and cognitive, communicative, social-emotional and sensory-motor skills. Conclusions. Different growing cerebral patterns are observed in both conditions. Besides, there are early signs from the different developmental areas studied that show comorbidity or allow early differentiation. However, attentional function or repetitive mannerisms, among others, need further research.Introducción. Aproximadamente el 60% de las personas con síndrome de X frágil también reciben un diagnóstico de trastorno del espectro autista. Entre estos trastornos existen tantas semejanzas como diferencias, que provocan cuadros clínicos distintos, por lo que es importante el diagnóstico diferencial temprano, de cara a conocer los déficits y fortalezas de cada niño y ajustar el tipo de intervención lo mejor posible. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo realizar una aproximación al conocimiento de la relación y las diferencias de ambas condiciones, y contribuir al diagnóstico diferencial y la posterior intervención. Materiales y métodos. Siguiendo el protocolo PRISMA-ScR, se realizaron búsquedas en las bases de datos de PsycInfo, Medline, SCOPUS y Web of Science, incluyendo los artículos científicos empíricos centrados en la etapa de los 0 a los 6 años desde 2010 a 2020. Resultados. Se seleccionaron 22 estudios en los que se trata el desarrollo inicial de estos dos trastornos y su confluencia. Los resultados se reagruparon en función de cambios morfológico-estructurales, y de las áreas cognitivas, comunicativas, socioemocionales y sensoriomotoras. Conclusiones. A nivel morfológico-estructural, parecen existir ciertos patrones de crecimiento cerebral diferenciadores entre estos trastornos. Asimismo, existen ciertas señales de alarma en las distintas áreas del desarrollo que son indicativas de comorbilidad o permiten la discriminación entre patologías, y existe cierto debate en torno a algunas de ellas, como el nivel atencional o los manierismos repetitivos

    Search for new particles in events with energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

    A search is presented for new particles produced at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV, using events with energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 101 fb(-1), collected in 2017-2018 with the CMS detector. Machine learning techniques are used to define separate categories for events with narrow jets from initial-state radiation and events with large-radius jets consistent with a hadronic decay of a W or Z boson. A statistical combination is made with an earlier search based on a data sample of 36 fb(-1), collected in 2016. No significant excess of events is observed with respect to the standard model background expectation determined from control samples in data. The results are interpreted in terms of limits on the branching fraction of an invisible decay of the Higgs boson, as well as constraints on simplified models of dark matter, on first-generation scalar leptoquarks decaying to quarks and neutrinos, and on models with large extra dimensions. Several of the new limits, specifically for spin-1 dark matter mediators, pseudoscalar mediators, colored mediators, and leptoquarks, are the most restrictive to date.Peer reviewe

    Combined searches for the production of supersymmetric top quark partners in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

    A combination of searches for top squark pair production using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment, is presented. Signatures with at least 2 jets and large missing transverse momentum are categorized into events with 0, 1, or 2 leptons. New results for regions of parameter space where the kinematical properties of top squark pair production and top quark pair production are very similar are presented. Depending on themodel, the combined result excludes a top squarkmass up to 1325 GeV for amassless neutralino, and a neutralinomass up to 700 GeV for a top squarkmass of 1150 GeV. Top squarks with masses from 145 to 295 GeV, for neutralino masses from 0 to 100 GeV, with a mass difference between the top squark and the neutralino in a window of 30 GeV around the mass of the top quark, are excluded for the first time with CMS data. The results of theses searches are also interpreted in an alternative signal model of dark matter production via a spin-0 mediator in association with a top quark pair. Upper limits are set on the cross section for mediator particle masses of up to 420 GeV

    MUSiC : a model-unspecific search for new physics in proton-proton collisions at root s=13TeV

    Results of the Model Unspecific Search in CMS (MUSiC), using proton-proton collision data recorded at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1), are presented. The MUSiC analysis searches for anomalies that could be signatures of physics beyond the standard model. The analysis is based on the comparison of observed data with the standard model prediction, as determined from simulation, in several hundred final states and multiple kinematic distributions. Events containing at least one electron or muon are classified based on their final state topology, and an automated search algorithm surveys the observed data for deviations from the prediction. The sensitivity of the search is validated using multiple methods. No significant deviations from the predictions have been observed. For a wide range of final state topologies, agreement is found between the data and the standard model simulation. This analysis complements dedicated search analyses by significantly expanding the range of final states covered using a model independent approach with the largest data set to date to probe phase space regions beyond the reach of previous general searches.Peer reviewe

    Measurement of prompt open-charm production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV

    The production cross sections for prompt open-charm mesons in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV are reported. The measurement is performed using a data sample collected by the CMS experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 29 nb(-1). The differential production cross sections of the D*(+/-), D-+/-, and D-0 ((D) over bar (0)) mesons are presented in ranges of transverse momentum and pseudorapidity 4 < p(T) < 100 GeV and vertical bar eta vertical bar < 2.1, respectively. The results are compared to several theoretical calculations and to previous measurements.Peer reviewe

    Measurements of Higgs boson production cross sections and couplings in the diphoton decay channel at root s=13 TeV

    Measurements of Higgs boson production cross sections and couplings in events where the Higgs boson decays into a pair of photons are reported. Events are selected from a sample of proton-proton collisions at root s = 13TeV collected by the CMS detector at the LHC from 2016 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb(-1). Analysis categories enriched in Higgs boson events produced via gluon fusion, vector boson fusion, vector boson associated production, and production associated with top quarks are constructed. The total Higgs boson signal strength, relative to the standard model (SM) prediction, is measured to be 1.12 +/- 0.09. Other properties of the Higgs boson are measured, including SM signal strength modifiers, production cross sections, and its couplings to other particles. These include the most precise measurements of gluon fusion and vector boson fusion Higgs boson production in several different kinematic regions, the first measurement of Higgs boson production in association with a top quark pair in five regions of the Higgs boson transverse momentum, and an upper limit on the rate of Higgs boson production in association with a single top quark. All results are found to be in agreement with the SM expectations.Peer reviewe

    Observation of tW production in the single-lepton channel in pp collisions at root s=13 TeV

    A measurement of the cross section of the associated production of a single top quark and a W boson in final states with a muon or electron and jets in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36 fb(-1) collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC in 2016. A boosted decision tree is used to separate the tW signal from the dominant t (t) over bar background, whilst the subleading W+jets and multijet backgrounds are constrained using data-based estimates. This result is the first observation of the tW process in final states containing a muon or electron and jets, with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. The cross section is determined to be 89 +/- 4 (stat) +/- 12 (syst) pb, consistent with the standard model.Peer reviewe

    Measurements of the Electroweak Diboson Production Cross Sections in Proton-Proton Collisions at root s=5.02 TeV Using Leptonic Decays

    The first measurements of diboson production cross sections in proton-proton interactions at a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV are reported. They are based on data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 302 pb(-1). Events with two, three, or four charged light leptons (electrons or muons) in the final state are analyzed. The WW, WZ, and ZZ total cross sections are measured as sigma(WW) = 37:0(-5.2)(+5.5) (stat)(-2.6)(+2.7) (syst) pb, sigma(WZ) = 6.4(-2.1)(+2.5) (stat)(-0.3)(+0.5)(syst) pb, and sigma(ZZ) = 5.3(-2.1)(+2.5)(stat)(-0.4)(+0.5) (syst) pb. All measurements are in good agreement with theoretical calculations at combined next-to-next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics and next-to-leading order electroweak accuracy
