    A static characteristic analysis of proposed bi-directional dual active bridge DC-DC converter

    Recently, the power supply network with energy storage devices such as battery has been focused. This network topology uses bi-directional isolated DC-DC converter of low or medium capacity is required for the diversification of power supply network. The dual active bridge (DAB) DC-DC converter is one of the effective bi-directional isolated DC-DC converters. However, the circuit has some instinct problems such as degradation of power efficiency and the occurrence of the surge in light-load operation. In this paper, we have been done a static characteristic analysis and highly power-efficient technique for DAB DC-DC Converter at light load.     BACKGROUND:The bi1ayer gelatin sealing sheet was developed as a safe, effective, easy-to-handle and low-cost hemostatic agent. OBJECTIVE:To examine the feasibility of gelatin sealing sheets using a canine aterial hemorrhage mode1. METHODS:In vivo degradation of gelatin sealing sheets was examined by implanting subcutaneously in rats. For the hemostatic and anti-adhesion efficacy investigations, femoral arteries of dogs were pricked with syringe needle to make as mall hole, and a gelatin(i.e. experimental group) or fibrin glue sealing sheet (i.e. control group) was applied on the hole to stop bleeding (n=8). After discontinuation of the bleeding, the skin incisions were closed and re-examined 4 weeks postoperatively. RESULTS:From the degradation study, 4h thermally treated gelatin sheet which degraded within 3 weeks in vivo was chosen for the further hemostatic study. In all cases of gelatin and fibrin glue sealing sheets, bleeding from the needle hole on canine femoral arteries was effectively stopped. Postoperative adhesions and inflammation at the site in the experimental group were significantly less than those in the control group (P<0.01 for adhesion scores). CONCLUSIONS:The gelatin sealing sheet was found to be as effective as the fibrin glue sealing sheet as a surgical hemostatic agent, and more effective in preventing postoperative adhesions.博士(医学)・甲第632号・平成27年3月16日Copyright ©2015 IOS Pres

    メコンデルタの農村では,かつての稲作労働に代わって,伝統的農村手工業および農産加工が過剰労働力を吸収している。その吸収力は稲単作の17倍に相当する。伝統的農村手工業や農産加工は,ライスペーパーやビーフンなどの食品加工と,海老取りカゴやゴザ・金属加工などの伝統工芸品加工に分別できる。原材料の調達先からみると,食品加工は資源内給型であり,伝統工芸品加工は資源外給型といえる。また,伝統的農村手工業および農産加工の需要は,洪水や仏教行事に規定される季節性を有している。本研究の調査地ベトナムカントー省O Mon区Thoi Long社(町)では,近年行政主導型で農産加工の組織化が進められている。海老取りカゴ製造農家を組織化した事例から,組織化の有利性と問題点を分析した。We performed this analysis using an agricultural survey of the Kanto Province in Vietnam. Our assessment is as follows ; 1. The traditional rural handicraft industries and processing of agricultural products have the capability to absorb the rural overpopulation, seventeen times more effectively than rice farming would. 2. The traditional rural handicraft industries and processing agricultural products can be classified for food processing ; for example rice paper and traditional craft goods such as the shrimp catching basket. Farmers make the food processing craft goods in the traditional manner by using local materials. However, they still obtain resources from outside the village. 3. There is much demand for traditional rural handicraft industries and processing agricultural products depending on the season, flooding, and the Buddhist calendar. 4. Local government is proceeding to organize the processing of agricultural products and give farmers an advantage. The current problem lies in sales and the spread of manufacturing knowledge

    Potential value of saline-induced Pd/Pa ratio in patients with coronary artery stenosis

    BackgroundFractional flow reserve (FFR) is the current gold standard for identifying myocardial ischemia in individuals with coronary artery stenosis. However, FFR is not penetrated as much worldwide due to time consumption, costs associated with adenosine, FFR-related discomfort, and complications. Resting physiological indexes may be widely accepted alternatives to FFR, while the discrepancies with FFR were found in up to 20% of lesions. The saline-induced Pd/Pa ratio (SPR) is a new simplified option for evaluating coronary stenosis. However, the clinical implication of SPR remains unclear.ObjectivesIn the present study, we aimed to compare the accuracies of SPR and resting full-cycle ratio (RFR) and to investigate the incremental value of SPR in clinical practice.MethodsIn this multicenter prospective study, 112 coronary lesions (105 patients) were evaluated by SPR, RFR, and FFR.ResultsThe overall median age was 71 years, and 84.8% were men. SPR was correlated more strongly with FFR than with RFR (r = 0.874 vs. 0.713, respectively; p &lt; 0.001). Using FFR &lt; 0.80 as the reference standard variable, the area under the receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve for SPR was superior to that of RFR (0.932 vs. 0.840, respectively; p = 0.009).ConclusionSaline-induced Pd/Pa ratio predicted FFR more accurately than RFR. SPR could be an alternative method for evaluating coronary artery stenosis and further investigation including elucidation of the mechanism of SPR is needed (225 words)

    Design Strategies of Fluorescent Biosensors Based on Biological Macromolecular Receptors

    Fluorescent biosensors to detect the bona fide events of biologically important molecules in living cells are increasingly demanded in the field of molecular cell biology. Recent advances in the development of fluorescent biosensors have made an outstanding contribution to elucidating not only the roles of individual biomolecules, but also the dynamic intracellular relationships between these molecules. However, rational design strategies of fluorescent biosensors are not as mature as they look. An insatiable request for the establishment of a more universal and versatile strategy continues to provide an attractive alternative, so-called modular strategy, which permits facile preparation of biosensors with tailored characteristics by a simple combination of a receptor and a signal transducer. This review describes an overview of the progress in design strategies of fluorescent biosensors, such as auto-fluorescent protein-based biosensors, protein-based biosensors covalently modified with synthetic fluorophores, and signaling aptamers, and highlights the insight into how a given receptor is converted to a fluorescent biosensor. Furthermore, we will demonstrate a significance of the modular strategy for the sensor design

    Indian Monsoonal Variations During the Past 80 Kyr Recorded in NGHP-02 Hole 19B, Western Bay of Bengal: Implications From Chemical and Mineral Properties

    金沢大学理工研究域地球社会基盤学系Detailed reconstruction of Indian summer monsoons is necessary to better understand the late Quaternary climate history of the Bay of Bengal and Indian peninsula. We established a chronostratigraphy for a sediment core from Hole 19B in the western Bay of Bengal, extending to approximately 80 kyr BP and examined major and trace element compositions and clay mineral components of the sediments. Higher δ 18 O values, lower TiO 2 contents, and weaker weathering in the sediment source area during marine isotope stages (MIS) 2 and 4 compared to MIS 1, 3, and 5 are explained by increased Indian summer monsoonal precipitation and river discharge around the western Bay of Bengal. Clay mineral and chemical components indicate a felsic sediment source, suggesting the Precambrian gneissic complex of the eastern Indian peninsula as the dominant sediment source at this site since 80 kyr. Trace element ratios (Cr/Th, Th/Sc, Th/Co, La/Cr, and Eu/Eu*) indicate increased sediment contributions from mafic rocks during MIS 2 and 4. We interpret these results as reflecting the changing influences of the eastern and western branches of the Indian summer monsoon and a greater decrease in rainfall in the eastern and northeastern parts of the Indian peninsula than in the western part during MIS 2 and 4. © 2018.
