El presente trabajo tuvo como como objetivo principal analizar 10 líneas avanzadas (LA) de trigo del CIMMYT (Centro Internacional de Mejoramiento de Maíz y Trigo) para identificar las más sobresalientes para procesos de producción industrial con base en su calidad bromatológica. Las LA fueron sembradas en tres localidades del Valle de Toluca (San Mateo Otzacatipan, Jocotitlán y Metepec). A los granos se les realizaron análisis bromatológicos para determinar materia seca, humedad, ceniza, grasa, proteína, fibra (fibra ácido detergente y fibra neutro detergente) y lignina. El análisis de varianza mostró que entre líneas avanzadas existieron diferencias significativas en todas las variables, con excepción de lignina. Entre las localidades, también se encontraron diferencias significativas, excepto en materia seca, proteína, fibra neutro detergente y lignina, y en la interacción línea avanzada por localidad hubo diferencias significativas para materia seca, proteína y lignina. Las líneas identificadas como cuatro y seis, se recomiendan para su uso en panadería, debido a su mejor calidad bromatológica, particularmente en el contenido de proteína, ceniza y grasa.Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Mëxic

La industria y el espacio urbano. Caso: El Salto, Jalisco

Trabajo en el que se pretende caracterizar los factores más determinantes del problema de la acelerada industrialización y de sus consecuencias en el municipio de El Salto, Jalisco, y entender el crecimiento del área como un proceso inter-urbano Guadalajara-El Salto. El artículo se divide en cuatro puntos, la presentación de los antecedentes históricos de El Salto, la descripción del espacio físico entre Guadalajara y El Salto, el proceso industrial que no es de El Salto, sino de Guadalajara en este municipio, y finalmente algunas conclusiones.ITESO, A.C

IMPACTOS SOCIALES Y ECONÓMICOS DEL TURISMO EN UNA COMUNIDAD RURAL DE SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, MÉXICO

Through semi-structured interviews, observation and application of a survey, the perceptions regarding social organization, wellbeing in the community environment, and relationship of local economic activities were identified, of residents in Unión de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí, México, facing the implementation of tourism in the community. Management is the foundation to promote, develop and broaden the tourism offer, creating and consolidating values in the inhabitants of the place themselves; community participation, gender equity, and collaboration from young people, are components that support the organizations in charge of the town to open opportunities for development; likewise, generating jobs, increasing the monetary income in families, and improving the basic services in the community, are the result from identifying impacts for the creation of strategies that can attain local development in the community. The methodology applied revealed that tourism is an alternative for the communities in the rural environment that have natural and cultural attractions, customs, traditions, lifestyles and habits that rural societies practice to become consolidated and to promote themselves in national and international settings.A través de entrevistas semi estructuradas, observación y aplicación de una encuesta se identificaron las percepciones en cuanto a la organización social, bienestar que presenta el entorno comunitario y relación de las actividades económicas locales ante la implementación del turismo en la comunidad, de los habitantes de la Unión de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí, México. La gestión es cimiento para promover, desarrollar y ampliar la oferta turística, creando y consolidando valores en los propios habitantes del lugar; la participación comunitaria, la igualdad de género y colaboración de jóvenes son componentes que apoyan a las organizaciones encargadas del pueblo para abrir oportunidades de desarrollo; así mismo, generar empleos, aumentar el ingreso monetario en las familias y mejorar servicios básicos en la comunidad, son resultado de la identificación de impactos para la creación de estrategias que logren conseguir un desarrollo local en la comunidad. La metodología aplicada, reveló que el turismo es una alternativa para las comunidades del medio rural que cuentan con atractivos naturales y culturales, costumbres, tradiciones, modos de vida y hábitos que las sociedades rurales practican para consolidarse y promoverse en entornos nacionales e internacionales

University setting and infrastructure for the people’s well-being: Universidad de Guadalajara in the face of the pandemic

From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico, the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) placed its infrastructure, —particularly schools, laboratories, research centers and institutes, and departments related to the areas of health and human resources— at the service of civil authorities and the population in general. Before any other public university in Mexico, UdeG implemented and published measures to prevent COVID-19 infections, which began with the suspension of public meetings and face-to-face activities, and the installation of a Health Situation Room, and which continued with the Enabling of the Active COVID-19 Detection System, the reconversion of the Civil Hospitals of Guadalajara, until reaching the Design of the Vaccination Plan, to name a few. The objective of this article is to describe how actions related to the management of the university environment and infrastructure not only put the largest state public university in the country at people’s service as never before, but also about how we have been forced to reconceptualize the mission and vision of higher education based on the needs identified during the pandemic, from a humanistic, integrative, unitary, global and interdisciplinary perspective.Keyword: COVID-19, universities, setting and infrastructure, health sciences, innovatio

El turismo de aventura se encuentra dentro del turismo alternativo. Sus características e innovación en la práctica hacen que crezca día con día. El principal recurso que ocupa es la naturaleza, la cual sirve de atracción y dificultad a la hora de realizar las actividades, donde las personas que las efectúan perciben diversas experiencias relacionadas con el peligro, el riesgo, la adrenalina, el esfuerzo físico, el ecosistema, entre otras. Esto hace al turismo de aventura más atractivo para los visitantes, haciéndolo más solicitado, en especial por los jóvenes que por su misma condición pueden ejecutar dichas actividades con mayor facilidad

160 p.En esta memoria se analiza la asociación entre medidas de desempeño gerencial (basadas en criterios económicos y contables) y creación de valor para los accionistas pertenecientes a un conjunto de empresas latinoamericanas de Argentina, Brasil, Chile y México entre los años 1994-2002. Los resultados muestran que Economic Value Added (EVA7M), una medida de desempeño económica, presenta un grado de asociación más significativo que sus competidores contables al momento de relacionarlos con retornos extra normales en el mercado accionario ya sea a nivel general como por industrias

Adapting RRI public engagement indicators to the Spanish scientific and innovation context: a participatory methodology based on AHP and content analysis

The paradigm proposed by Responsible Research and Innovation in the European Commission policy discourse identifies Public Engagement as a key area for exchange and dialogue among multiple actors following an inclusive and participatory process. Two definite set of indicators have already arisen at European level to monitor Public Engagement activities in the Science and Innovation realm. Our study aims to propose a deliberative participatory process, which involves selected stakeholders, for the adaptation of the European indicators to the specific Spanish scientific and innovation context. The methodological procedure is of exploratory nature and will be based in a combination of, on the one hand, qualitative content analysis techniques for the in-depth study of the deliberative process and the generation of indicators; and, on the other hand, a multi-criteria decision analysis technique such as the Analytic Hierarchy Process for the prioritization of the indicators. The discussion will focus on the procedure to articulate stakeholders' values and use them as the basis for creating a context-based improved list of indicators. Two types of research questions arise: (i) Is the proposed methodology adequate for the adaptation of the European indicators to the Spanish context? (ii) What are the main indicators to monitor and to expand reflection on the public engagement in the Spanish science and innovation

Closing the gender gap at academic conferences: A tool for monitoring and assessing academic events

The importance of participation in academic conferences is well known for members of the scientific community. It is not only for the feedback and the improvement of the work, it is also about career development, building networks and increasing visibility. Nevertheless, women continue to be under-represented in these academic events and even more so in the most visible positions such as speaking roles. This paper presents the development of a tool based on performance indicators, which will allow monitoring and evaluating gender roles and inequalities in academic conferences in order to tackle the underrepresentation of women. The study identifies relevant perspectives (participation, organizational structure and attitudes) and designs specific lists of performance indicators for each of them. The tool is based on a combination of two multicriteria techniques, Analytic Hierarchy Process and Analytic Hierarchy Process Sort, and a qualitative analysis based on in-depth interviews and information gathered from a focus group. The use of the AHP multi-criteria decision technique has allowed us to weight the indicators according to the opinion of several experts, and with them to be able to generate from these weightings composite indicators for each of the three dimensions. The most relevant indicators were for the participation dimension. Additionally, the tool developed has been applied to an academic conference which has been monitored in real time. The results are shown as a traffic light visualization approach, where red means bad performance, yellow average performance and green good performance, helping us to present the results for each indicator. Finally, proposals for improvement actions addressed to the red indicators are explained.
