This article raises the educational power of imagination in order to propose symbols which communicate author and reader. Thanks to it, classics of Literature keep alive after their writing days, thanks to the readers’ capability to get friendly with the text and renew it creatively with other perspectives and new hypertexts which break out an infinite semiosis. Don Quixote is an ideal book to stimulate creative readings due to its hospitable condition towards any culture or generation. Irony is the nuclear rhetoric of the Cervantes’ classic and it provokes ‘lessons’ of opposite reading, sane interpretations for crazy examples. When reading it, you learn to use fantasy not for the belief in the meanings but for the critic sense towards the reference world

Services in smart environments pursue to increase the quality of people?s lives. The most important issues when developing this kind of environments is testing and validating such services. These tasks usually imply high costs and annoying or unfeasible real-world testing. In such cases, artificial societies may be used to simulate the smart environment (i.e. physical environment, equipment and humans). With this aim, the CHROMUBE methodology guides test engineers when modeling human beings. Such models reproduce behaviors which are highly similar to the real ones. Originally, these models are based on automata whose transitions are governed by random variables. Automaton?s structure and the probability distribution functions of each random variable are determined by a manual test and error process. In this paper, it is presented an alternative extension of this methodology which avoids the said manual process. It is based on learning human behavior patterns automatically from sensor data by using machine learning techniques. The presented approach has been tested on a real scenario, where this extension has given highly accurate human behavior models

This paper defines the educational innovation of reading skill based on interdisciplinarity against academicism of disciplinary teaching; it claims epistemological intervention of imagination and meaning in re-contextualizing communicative actions with the methodology of intertextual reading to update the treatment of classics in creative and critical readings of hyper-textual projection in the classroom, and reveals that its semiotic Krausist-romantic genealogy on the classic modernity because of its survival over time comes from the recognition of Don Quixote as the first modern novel in the world by providing the reader its endless reinvention.

The aim of this study was to analyze the Sticking Re-gion at submaximal (70%, 80%, 90% until failure) and maximal (1RM) loads in the concentric phase during bench press. Eleven male individuals participated in the study (age: 22.73 ± 2.57 years, body mass: 80.2 ± 6.9 kg, height: 179.6 ± 7.4 cm, 1RM: 94.55 ± 11.56 kg) with at least two years of bench press training experience. In our sample, The Sticking Region could only be obser-ved with 90% and 100% 1RM loads. The velocity results showed significant differences in 1RM (p ≤ 0.001) and in 90% (p = 0.014) during the three phases (Pre-Sticking, Sticking Region and Post-Sticking zones). Differences in the electromyographic activity of the triceps brachii were found only between the Pre-StickingRegion and the Sticking Region and between the Pre-Sticking Re-gion and the Post-StickingRegion at 1RM. The activity between the Sticking Region and Post-StickingRegionat 90% and 1RM did not differ significantly.

Returning to Nature for the Design of Sorptive Phases in Solid-Phase Microextraction

Green analytical chemistry principles aim to minimize the negative impact of analytical procedures in the environment, which can be considered both at close (to ensure the safety of the analysts) and global (to conserve our natural resources) levels. These principles suggest, among other guidelines, the reduction/minimization of the sample treatment and the use of renewable sources when possible. The first aspect is largely fulfilled by microextraction, which is considered to be among the greenest sample treatment techniques. The second consideration is attainable if natural products are used as raw materials for the preparation of new extraction phases. This strategy is in line with the change in our production system, which is being gradually moved from a linear model (take–make–dispose) to a circular one (including reusing and recycling as key terms). This article reviews the potential of natural products as sorbents in extraction and microextraction techniques from the synergic perspectives of two research groups working on the topic. The article covers the use of unmodified natural materials and the modified ones (although the latter has a less green character) to draw a general picture of the usefulness of the materials

Apparently the behavior during a basketball game, as in other team sports, shows tremendous variability manifested in both individual and collective ways. However, when a significant number of games are studied, we can observe the unpredictability that characterizes the game. The degree of complexity of the game is not stable. Patterns change during all the game time, but the last minute is completely different reality. Our aim was to test and evaluate the existence of these patterns and their apparent complexity, by analyzing the NBA games scoring and substitution dynamics. Therefore, we examined the difference between the last minute and the rest of the game from the collected scores (1, 2 and 3 points), substitutions and timeouts. The underlying chaotic behavior of nonlinear interactions is inherent in Complex Systems. The data showed the existence of symmetries and repeated patterns of play during basketball games of the NBA but the last minute, which can be considered a completely different game.

The interactions of a Spanish football team of the Second A (10 official games) are analyzed, evaluating possible behavioral patterns that appear in a regular way in high level football. Observational methodology was used, by Polar Coordinates Analysis, to discover and evaluate the relationships generated between a considered focal behavior and the different conditioned categories, describing behavioral masses among the players. The matches were observed and recorded with an ad hoc observation instrument. The relations of dual character between the players taken as (focal behaviors) right midfielder and forward and the other players (conditioned conducts) were analyzed. The results show differences in the relationship established based on the outcome of the match. Matches that end with a favorable result, the right midfielder takes center stage, as a node of intermediation between the right centre back, left center back, left midfielder, and second striker. In these, the forward is clear receiver in the actions of completion. With the result of the unfavorable match, the connection networks change, generating a network of reciprocal interaction wider and different between the aforementioned player, right midfielder and the rest of the components, with special relation in the players that occupy the right back, left back, right centre back, right winger, left winger, second striker and forward. In these games the striker acquires a role of greater collaboration in the creation in offensive phases, participating as a node in the game network with intermediation functions

The aim of the present study was to analyze the effects of cocoa flavanols and red berry anthocyanins on cardiovascular biomarkers, such as homocysteine, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), nitric oxide (NO), flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD), blood pressure and lipid profile. Additionally, we aimed to ascertain their possible interactions with microbiota related metabolites, such as secondary bile acids (SBA), short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) and trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). A randomized, parallel-group study, single-blind for the research team, was performed on 60 healthy volunteers between the ages of 45 and 85, who consumed 2.5 g/day of cocoa powder (9.59 mg/day of total flavanols), 5 g/day of a red berry mixture (13.9 mg/day of total anthocyanins) or 7.5 g/day of a combination of both for 12 weeks. The group that had consumed cocoa showed a significant reduction in TMAO (p = 0.03) and uric acid (p = 0.01) levels in serum, accompanied by an increase in FMD values (p = 0.03) and total polyphenols. corrected by creatinine (p = 0.03) after the intervention. These latter values negatively correlated with the TMAO concentration (R = −0.57, p = 0.02). Additionally, we observed an increase in carbohydrate fermentation in the groups that had consumed cocoa (p = 0.04) and red berries (p = 0.04) between the beginning and the end of the intervention. This increase in carbohydrate fermentation was correlated with lower levels of TC/HDL ratio (p = 0.01), systolic (p = 0.01) and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.01). In conclusion, our study showed a positive modulation of microbiota metabolism after a regular intake of cocoa flavanols and red berry anthocyanins that led to an improvement in cardiovascular function, especially in the group that consumed cocoa
