Entre história e memória : as práticas educativas no processo de luta pela terra e ocupação do atual Assentamento Maria Bonita em Simão Dias/SE
The present study aimed to understand the educational practices that occurred in the process of occupation and struggle for land in the territory today called the Settlement Maria Bonita, municipality of Simão Dias, Sergipe. Through semi-structured interviews, analysis of texts and documents, we analyzed how the process of occupation and struggle for the land of the Maria Bonita Settlement occurred. Therefore, we identify the educational practices that occurred in the period of occupation until the actual conquest of the land, as well as the methodologies developed in this process. From this study we identified that the process of struggle for land in the Maria Bonita Settlement, unlike other regions of the state occurred without the existence of conflicts between landless and landless or landless and state / governmental forces. In the same way, we could verify that the educational practices that existed in the period referred to the activities of a school of Education of Young and Adults existent in the camping. In terms of methodologies applied in this space, it was possible to verify that although the Landless Workers' Movement (MST) guided the use of Paulo Freire's methods, in practice, this methodology was applied in conjunction with traditional teaching methods, once that there were difficulties in the application of the same in said space.O presente estudo objetivou compreender as práticas educativas ocorridas no processo de ocupação e luta pela terra do território hoje denominado Assentamento Maria Bonita, município de Simão Dias, Sergipe. Por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas, análise de textos e documentos analisamos como ocorreu o processo de ocupação e luta pela terra do Assentamento Maria Bonita. Para tanto, identificamos as práticas educativas que ocorreram no período da ocupação até a conquista efetiva da terra, assim como, evidenciamos as metodologias desenvolvidas nesse processo. A partir deste estudo identificamos que o processo de luta pela terra no Assentamento Maria Bonita, diferentemente de outras regiões do estado ocorreu sem a existência de conflitos entre sem terras e fazendeiros ou sem terras e as forças estaduais/governamentais. Do mesmo modo, pudemos constatar que as práticas educativas existentes no período referiram-se as atividades de uma escola de Educação de Jovens e Adultos existente no acampamento. Em termos de metodologias aplicadas neste espaço, foi possível constatarmos que embora o Movimento dos Trabalhadores
Rurais Sem Terra (MST) orientasse a utilização dos métodos de Paulo Freire, na prática, a referida metodologia foi aplicada em conjunto com métodos tradicionais de ensino, uma vez que houveram dificuldades na aplicação do mesmo no referido espaço.São Cristóvão, S
Characterisation of microbial attack on archaeological bone
As part of an EU funded project to investigate the factors influencing bone preservation in the archaeological record, more than 250 bones from 41 archaeological sites in five countries spanning four climatic regions were studied for diagenetic alteration. Sites were selected to cover a range of environmental conditions and archaeological contexts. Microscopic and physical (mercury intrusion porosimetry) analyses of these bones revealed that the majority (68%) had suffered microbial attack. Furthermore, significant differences were found between animal and human bone in both the state of preservation and the type of microbial attack present. These differences in preservation might result from differences in early taphonomy of the bones. © 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved
