Efectos de la radiación ultravioleta en asfaltos colombianos

    No full text
he aim of this research was to observe the long and short term aging of two Colombian asphalts (60/70 and 80/100 from Barrancabermeja) through Rolling Thin Film Oven Test (RTFOT), RTFOT plus Ultra Violet radiation (UV) and accelerate aging by Pressure Aging Vessel (PAV) tests during two different exposure periods. Physical and Rheological properties such as penetration, ductility, softening point, viscosity with Brookfield and DSR were analyzed in all the stages. Results from both rhe- ological and physical characterization show no variation between samples analyzed by RTFOT and PAV in comparison with the oRTFOT plus UV radiation during 100 hours periods

During the International Workshop Land Administration in Latin America and LADM+, 5-9 November 2018 in Quito Ecuador, organized by Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE (ESPE University) Ecuador and Kadaster International together with Faculty ITC University of Twente from the Netherlands, Latin America Land Administration Network - LALAN was established. The objective of this network is to: perform activities that can support capacity development and sharing knowledge in both fit-for-purpose and responsible land administration within the Latin America Land Administration Network of education institutions. Networks of academic and higher education institutions are proven platforms for knowledge sharing and experiences in education exchange. At the International Symposium on Land Administration in Bogota, Colombia, 11-12.10.2022 (https://okpadministraciondetierras2022.org/), LALAN members from two European and three Latin America countries had a meeting to discuss previous finished activities and planned new activities. This paper aims at elaboration more in details on the higher mention topics

The complementarity-determining region sequences in IgY antivenom hypervariable regions

The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled ''Development of IgY antibodies against anti-snake toxins endowed with highly lethal neutralizing activity'' (da Rocha et al., 2017) [1]. Complementarity-determining region (CDR) sequences are variable antibody (Ab) sequences that respond with specificity, duration and strength to identify and bind to antigen (Ag) epitopes. B lymphocytes isolated from hens immunized with Bitis arietans (Ba) and anti-Crotalus durissus terrificus (Cdt) venoms and expressing high specificity, affinity and toxicity neutralizing antibody titers were used as DNA sources. The VLF1, CDR1, CDR2, VLR1 and CDR3 sequences were validated by BLASTp, and values corresponding to IgY VL and VH anti-Ba or anti-Cdt venoms were identified, registered [Gallus gallus IgY Fv Light chain (GU815099)/Gallus gallus IgY Fv Heavy chain (GU815098)] and used for molecular modeling of IgY scFv anti-Ba. The resulting CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 sequences were combined to construct the three - dimensional structure of the Ab paratope. Keywords: PCR, Sequencing, Modeling of biomolecule

The impact of conservation on the status of the world's vertebrates

Using data for 25,780 species categorized on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List, we present an assessment of the status of the world's vertebrates. One-fifth of species are classified as Threatened, and we show that this figure is increasing: On average, 52 species of mammals, birds, and amphibians move one category closer to extinction each year. However, this overall pattern conceals the impact of conservation successes, and we show that the rate of deterioration would have been at least one-fifth again as much in the absence of these. Nonetheless, current conservation efforts remain insufficient to offset the main drivers of biodiversity loss in these groups: agricultural expansion, logging, overexploitation, and invasive alien species
