Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Critical Success Factors -A Case Study of the Moroccan Aeronautic Industry

    Get PDF
Companies are constantly striving to achieve a highest rate of competitiveness. Thus, they implement either Lean manufacturing or Six sigma approach or both. However, their successful implementation is a real challenge. Hence, one of the proven tools to take up this challenge is a set of critical success factors (CSFs). This study provides a comparative statement of the recommendations suggested by every CSF from the perspective of each approach and examines how far the CSFs determine the successful implementation of Lean manufacturing and Six sigma in the Moroccan aeronautics industry. Also, based on a qualitative research methodology it assesses the importance assigned to each CSFs for each approach. The results would provide aeronautics managers with indicators and guidelines for a successful simultaneous implementation of Lean principles and Six Sigma techniques

Days of autonomy for optimal Battery Sizing in Stand-alone Photovoltaic Systems

    Get PDF
The main purpose of our article is to optimize the battery sizing by identifying the most appropriate number of autonomy days. A case study has been established and simulated to define the optimal number. In the others current researches, only a small importance has been attributed to the battery autonomy. The objective is generally to ensure a continuous presence of energy especially for isolated systems while this is not always optimal nor economical and does not necessarily guarantee a safe supply. Nevertheless, an over dimensioning of the battery will lead to a consequent cost and a loss of energy. The results show that the number of days of autonomy must correspond to the minimum ratio linking the lack of energy to the surplus during a specific period

CONSOMMATEUR CONSCIENTISE : SON IMPACT SUR LES CHAINES LOGISTIQUES DURABLES

    Get PDF

Enhancing Motivation and Engagement: A Top-Down Approach for the Design of a Learning Experience According to the S2P-LM

Demotivation and disengagement of students toward the formal learning curriculum, know an increasingly strong and even alarming proliferation. In this paper, we try to deal with motivation and engagement of learners during learning process and learning experience within a formal context, by the adoption of a Top-Down approach through three levels of design: Macro, Meso, and Micro level. The Macro Level tries to rely on a conceptual framework: the S2P Learning Model. The Meso Level is related to the design of the learning experience, by which we formalize the pedagogical scenario, the didactic tools, the pedagogical activities and roles: based on the Extended Blended Learning. Finally, the Micro Level stresses on the use of game mechanics and Gamification of activities and tools as a way to enhance the motivation and engagement of learners during the learning experience. By these principles, we move gradually towards a new kind of teachers (â??Integratorsâ? & â??Facilitatorsâ?); and a new kind of learners (â??Learnplayersâ?). Therefore, we try by this paper, to outline of the conceptual basis of our approach that must build the frame of validation by experimentation during the next steps of our research

Teachers’ Roles in Online Environments: How AI Based Techniques Can Ease the Shift Challenges from Face-to-Face to Distance Learning

    No full text
The Covid-19 emergency has brought a mandatory shift to online systems in the education sector worldwide. This document gives an overview about the online teaching challenges encountered from the teachers’ point view, restitutes how the teacher’s role in online settings can be determining in the successfulness of the learning experience and more importantly provides insights into Artificial Intelli-gence techniques that can solve the equation of transferring the role of teachers in face-to-face settings to distance learning environments

A Khan Framework-Based Approach to Successful MOOCs Integration in the Academic Context

    No full text
Massive open online courses (MOOCs) expansion encounter many challenges related to different aspects, from learner’s perspective to teacher’s perspective, to technological aspects. Previous studies demonstrated the prevailing challenges pertaining to Academic contexts using both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of different samples from different countries. In our study, we have tried to look at practices from all over the world regarding MOOCs implementation, we presented a summary of the major challenges of MOOCs as well as their strengths vis as vis the open education in both general and academic contexts. Following the steps of Khan’s framework for online learning, our ultimate objective was to come up with an approach that can bridge the challenges that hinder current effective delivery of MOOCs and calls for metrics that respect the results of previous work in the implementation of blended learning in the Academic context
