The El Masnou Infralittoral sedimentary environment (Barcelona province, NW Mediterranean Sea): morphology and Holocene seismic stratigraphy

A detailed analysis of the morphology and the Holocene seismic and sequence stratigraphy and architecture of the infralittoral sedimentary environment of the El Masnou coast (Catalonia, NW Mediterranean Sea) was carried out using multibeam bathymetry and GeoPulse seismic data. This environment extends down to 26-30 m water depth, and is defined morphologically by two depositional wedges whose seafloor is affected by erosive furrows, slides, fields of large- and small-scale wavy bedforms, and dredging trenches and pits. Erosive terraces are also identified in the transition domain toward the inner continental shelf. The Holocene stratigraphy of the infralittoral environment is defined by two major seismic sequences (lower and upper), each one formed by internal seismic units. The sequences and units are characterised by downlapping surfaces made up of deposits formed by progradation of coastal lithosomes. The stratigraphy and stratal architecture, displaying a retrogradational arrangement with progradational patterns of minor order, were controlled by different sea-level positions. The stratigraphic division represents the coastal response to the last fourth-order transgressive and highstand conditions, modulated by small-scale sea-level oscillations (≈1-2 m) of fith to sixth order. This study also highlights the advantage of an integrated analysis using acoustic/seismic methods for practical assessment of the anthropogenic effects on infralittoral domains based on the association of marine geological observations

Influencia de factores abióticos en poblaciones de Carollia perspicillata (Linnaeus 1758) (Mammalia, Chiroptera)

El Amazonas es una región de Sudamérica, considerada de vital importancia por su alta biodiversidad. Se constituye como uno de los ecosistemas terrestres más productivos del planeta, debido a su complejidad estructural y paisajística, alberga una gran riqueza de murciélagos, siendo Carollia perspicillata (Phyllostomidae) una de las más comúnmente registradas, es principalmente frugívora, forrajeando en el estrato más bajo del bosque, son pocos los estudios acerca de su ecología y menos aún en la región amazónica; por consiguiente, el presente estudio pretende evaluar la influencia de factores abióticos en una población de la mencionada especie en el Amazonas brasilero. Para la captura de murciélagos se emplearon 8 redes de niebla en el bosque de terra firme en la amazonía central brasilera. Los datos de temperatura fueron proporcionados por el Instituto Nacional de Meteorología (INMET-Brasil), mientras que el porcentaje de fase iluminada de la Luna para cada día de colecta se obtuvo mediante el software Moontool v. 2.0. En total fueron capturados 888 individuos: 358 machos y 530 hembras. Fue registrada una mayor frecuencia de individuos jóvenes (para ambos sexos) en la temporada de lluvias, así como de hembras lactantes y total de individuos registrados. El peso de los murciélagos no parece responder a la temporada climática. La temperatura no influenció significativamente las abundancias de individuos, sin embargo, el porcentaje de fase iluminada de la Luna sí, respondiendo a un fenómeno conocido como «fobia lunar». Los resultados sugieren que el clima sí puede influenciar en las poblaciones de esta especie de murciélago en los bosques de la Amazonía brasilera.The Amazon is a region of South America considered of vital importance due to its high biodiversity. It is considered as one of the most productive terrestrial ecosystems on the planet, due to its structural and landscape complexity. It harbors a great diversity of bats, being Carollia perspicillata (Phyllostomidae) one of the most commonly recorded, it is mainly frugivorous, foraging in the lowest stratum of the forest, there are few studies about its ecology and even less in the Amazon region; therefore, this study aims to evaluate the influence of abiotic factors (temperature, seasonality, illuminated phase of the Moon) on a population of the aforementioned species in the Brazilian Amazon. For the capture of bats, 8 mist nets were used in terra firme forest in the Brazilian central Amazon. The temperature data were provided by the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET-Brazil), while the percentage of illuminated phase of the Moon for each day of collection was obtained by Moontool version 2.0 Software. In total, 888 individuals were captured: 358 males and 530 females. A higher frequency of young individuals (for both sexes) was recorded in the rainy season, as well as lactating females and the total of individuals recorded. The weight of the bats does not seem to respond to the climate season. The temperature did not significantly influence the abundance of individuals, however the percentage of illuminated phase of the Moon does, as has already been demonstrated by other authors, responding to a phenomenon known as «moon phobia». THE STUDY OF MODAL VERBS FROM A PEDAGOGICAL PERSPECTIVE: AN ANALYSIS OF TEXTBOOKS AND GRAMMARS

[EN] This paper shows how the indiscriminate combination of the form-function criterion in the traditional presentation of modal verbs brings more confusion than light to the subject due mostly to the fact that the grammatical simplicity of modal verbs clashes with their semantic complexity. In order to verify the treatment of modals in the EFL classroom, both a reduced but representative sample of textbooks and English grammar books will be analysed. The intellectually disabled in judicial process. Special reference to criminal proces

La Ley 8/2021, de 2 de junio, en virtud de la cual se reforma la legislación civil y procesal para el apoyo a las personas con discapacidad, implica un cambio de paradigma, al reconocer a las personas discapacitadas la posibilidad de decidir por sí mismas, frente a la anterior privación del libre ejercicio de sus derechos. Por ello, la referida Ley 8/2021 introduce en nuestra Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil –de aplicación supletoria a todos los órdenes jurisdiccionales- lo que denomina “ajustes para personas con discapacidad” (artículo 7bis), a efectos de favorecer a éstas la accesibilidad al proceso judicial, a efectos de garantizar su participación en el proceso en condiciones de igualdad. Se examinarán cuáles son esos ajustes posibles, centrándonos en el proceso penal, y prestando especial atención a la figura del “facilitador”.Law 8/2021 by virtue of which the civil and procedural legislation for the support of people with disabilities is reformed, implies a paradigm shift, by recognizing disabled people the possibility of deciding for themselves, in the face of the previous deprivation of the free exercise of their rights. Estudio sobre la satisfacción de los usuarios de una biblioteca hospitalaria

To know the opinion of the users of the Hospital Puerta de Hierro Library with regard to services offered. Development: Observational, cross-sectional study performed in 2002, with a 28 questions questionnaire: 5 closed queries, 3 open queries and 20 general questions, following Likert scale with a scoring from 1 (very poor) to 6 (very satisfactory). 106 questionnaires were collected. Professionalism and staff good manners are the more valued by the library users. The worst are the dimensions of the reading room scarce collection of journals and books on specialities and furniture. Physicians and other medical staff are the less satisfied professionals Conclusions: Library users have expressed a medium-high degree of satisfaction in regard to facilities while they expressed a low degree of satisfaction in regard to infrastructure, furniture and dimensions of the reading room.
