    Alternativas para superar entraves em regionalizações determinadas por políticas públicas: o caso da cadeia produtiva do leite na Mesomercosul

    This article intends to analyze the alternatives of the traditional processes of regionalization to the planning of developing strategies, under the perspective of endogenous regional development. Its objective is to understand the consequences of prior regional clipping, excluding the analysis of the local forces that act upon a specific territory. The study was based on the evaluation of the regionalization of the milk productive chain in the Grande Fronteira do Mercosul Mesoregion. This quantitative, exploratory research examines possible alternatives of regionalization to implement strategies for regional development. The methods adopted in this study are the review of literature, the documental research and the case study. The clusters of towns originated from milk production and processing were analyzed and compared to the cut of Mesomercosul regional. The relevance of the geographic cut used by the Mesomercosul regionalization when seeking an effective strategic management was analyzed.O presente artigo visa analisar as alternativas dos tradicionais processos de regionalização para planejamento de estratégias de desenvolvimento, sob a perspectiva do desenvolvimento regional endógeno. Seu objetivo é compreender as consequências de um determinado recorte regional definido a priori, sem uma análise das forças locais que agem sobre o território. Para orientar o estudo, foram desenvolvidas as análises da regionalização da cadeia produtiva do leite na Mesorregião Grande Fronteira do Mercosul. Este trabalho utiliza a abordagem da pesquisa quantitativa; quanto à natureza, caracteriza-se como um estudo exploratório, pois visa analisar alternativas de regionalização para implementação de estratégias de desenvolvimento regional. No seu desenvolvimento, utilizam-se as técnicas da pesquisa bibliográfica, do estudo documental e do estudo de caso. Foram analisados os aglomerados de municípios formados com base na produção e no processamento do leite, comparando-os com o recorte regional da Mesomercosul. Analisou-se a pertinência do recorte geográfico utilizado pela Mesomercosul quando se busca uma gestão estratégica eficiente da cadeia produtiva do leite

    Sandwichelemente mit Deckschichten aus Textilbeton und tragenden Dämmkernen verfügen über ein breites Leistungsprofil, von selbsttragenden Fassadenbauteilen bis zu tragenden Wand-, Dach- und Deckenbauteilen. Trotz der geringen Bauteilstärke von nur 18 – 20 cm besitzen Sandwichelemente aus Textilbeton neben der hohen Tragfähigkeit ein günstiges bauphysikalisches Verhalten hinsichtlich des Wärme- und Schallschutzes. Anhand eines kleinen Experimentalbaus wurde im Rahmen des Sonderforschungsbereichs SFB 532 an der RWTH Aachen die Anwendbarkeit von tragenden Sandwichbauteilen verifiziert. Dabei wurden wesentliche Fragestellungen wie Konstruktion und Gestalt, Tragverhalten, Bauteilfügung, Herstellungstechnik und Montage untersucht

    Nexos entre visão computacional e computação afetiva para o desenvolvimento da robótica / Nexuses between computer vision and affective computing for robotics development

    O objetivo deste estudo é descrever a relação entre três áreas de conhecimento, (1) Robótica, (2) Computação Afetiva e (3) Visão Computacional, para desenvolvimento de robôs humanoides. É interessante que se torna como foco a característica principal desses robôs, a semelhança com o ser humano; tanto física como comportamental tais como: fala, comunicação, mobilidade e expressão de emoções. Com isso, verifica-se que quanto mais se conjugar áreas diferentes de conhecimento, mais qualidade poderá ser empregada nas interações entre homem e máquina. Um exemplo disso é a aplicação de técnicas da área de Computação Afetiva em projetos da área de Robótica. Além disto, para que robôs humanoides possam reconhecer emoções é necessário que outra área de conhecimento seja integrada nesse processo, a Visão Computacional.

    Die 1,8-Millionenstadt Dubai und die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate sind eine der Regionen der Welt mit den größten Bauaktivitäten. Der Exkursionsbericht schildert die Eindrücke bei der Exkursion der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen der HTWG Konstanz im März 2009. Auf dem Programm standen die Baustellen der künstlichen Palmeninsel "Palm Jebel Ali", des "Iris Bay"-Turms mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Architektur sowie des "Latifa Tower", einem "normalen" Hochhaus von 255 Meter Höhe. Geotechnik im Wüstensand unter der Leitung deutscher Firmen waren ebenso zu sehen wie der Bau des weltweit größten Trinkwasserreservoirs. Weitere Höhepunkte der Reise waren die Baustellen des "Khalifa National Stadium" und der 1455 Meter langen Saadiyat-Brücke in Abu Dhabi, die die zukünftige Kulturmeile Abu Dhabis auf der Saadiyat Insel mit dem Festland verbinden wird.Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are one of the regions in the world with the greatest building activities.     Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is impaired in patients with stable angina but patients often present with other forms of chest pain. The aim of this study was to compare the pre-diagnostic HRQoL in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) according to angina type, gender, and presence of obstructive CAD. From the pilot study for the European DISCHARGE trial, we analysed data from 24 sites including 1263 patients (45.9% women, 61.1 ± 11.3 years) who were clinically referred for invasive coronary angiography (ICA; 617 patients) or coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA; 646 patients). Prior to the procedures, patients completed HRQoL questionnaires: the Short Form (SF)-12v2, the EuroQoL (EQ-5D-3 L) and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. Fifty-five percent of ICA and 35% of CTA patients had typical angina, 23 and 33% had atypical angina, 18 and 28% had non-anginal chest discomfort and 5 and 5% had other chest discomfort, respectively. Patients with typical angina had the poorest physical functioning compared to the other angina groups (SF-12 physical component score; 41.2 ± 8.8, 43.3 ± 9.1, 46.2 ± 9.0, 46.4 ± 11.4, respectively, all age and gender-adjusted p < 0.01), and highest anxiety levels (8.3 ± 4.1, 7.5 ± 4.1, 6.5 ± 4.0, 4.7 ± 4.5, respectively, all adjusted p < 0.01). On all other measures, patients with typical or atypical angina had lower HRQoL compared to the two other groups (all adjusted p < 0.05). HRQoL did not differ between patients with and without obstructive CAD while women had worse HRQoL compared with men, irrespective of age and angina type. Prior to a diagnostic procedure for stable chest pain, HRQoL is associated with chest pain characteristics, but not with obstructive CAD, and is significantly lower in women.     Sandwich panels in which textile-reinforced concrete layers and a rigid foam core are joined into a single structural unit offer a large performance profile ranging from self-supporting façades to structural wall, roof or floor elements. In spite of the low thickness of only 18-20 cm the elements have a good performance in terms of load bearing, thermal and acoustic insulation. In order to verify the applicability of structural composite elements, a small demonstration building called TexModul was developed on the basis of these components by the interdisciplinary research center SFB 532 – Textilbewehrter Beton at RWTH Aachen University. Numerous aspects concerning architectural design, load bearing behavior, building physics, element joining, production techniques and assembling have been investigated.
