Progress and Problems in QCD - Report from the Hadronic Final States Working Group at DIS99
We present a summary of the Hadronic Final States parallel sessions of the
DIS99 Workshop. Topics were presented over two days and included both
theoretical and experimental talks. Recent progress in the understanding of QCD
in deep inelastic scattering, e^+e^- collisions, and in gamma and p collisions

An Examination of Financial Efficiency of the Slovnaft, a.s. Using Time Series Analysis
Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá analýzou firmy Slovnaft, a.s. pomocou analýzy časových radov. Cieľom, na základe historických údajov za posledných 6 rokov, bude stanoviť finančnú výkonnosť podniku a prognózovať vývoj do budúcnosti. V závere budú zistené výsledky analyzované a na základe týchto výsledkov, budú navrhnuté možné varianty riešenia situácie.Bachelor’s thesis focuses on the analyze of the Slovnaft, a.s. company by using time series analysis. The goal based on historical data over last six years will be to determine financial performance of the company and forecast the future development. In the end will be results analyzed and based on these results will be propose possible options to address the situation.
CMS search plans and sensitivity to new physics with dijets
CMS will use dijets to search for physics beyond the standard model during
early LHC running. The inclusive jet cross section as a function of jet
transverse momentum, with 10 inverse picobarns of integrated luminosity, is
sensitive to contact interactions beyond the reach of the Tevatron. The dijet
mass distribution will be used to search for dijet resonances coming from new
particles, for example an excited quark. Additional sensitivity to the
existence of contact interactions or dijet resonances can be obtained by
comparing dijet rates in two distinct pseudorapidity regions.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in J. Phys. G: Nucl.

Tevatron-for-LHC Report of the QCD Working Group
The experiments at Run 2 of the Tevatron have each accumulated over 1 inverse
femtobarn of high-transverse momentum data. Such a dataset allows for the first
precision (i.e. comparisons between theory and experiment at the few percent
level) tests of QCD at a hadron collider. While the Large Hadron Collider has
been designed as a discovery machine, basic QCD analyses will still need to be
performed to understand the working environment. The Tevatron-for-LHC workshop
was conceived as a communication link to pass on the expertise of the Tevatron
and to test new analysis ideas coming from the LHC community. The TeV4LHC QCD
Working Group focussed on important aspects of QCD at hadron colliders: jet
definitions, extraction and use of Parton Distribution Functions, the
underlying event, Monte Carlo tunes, and diffractive physics. This report
