Solar Cell Panel and the Method for Manufacturing the Same
According to an aspect of an embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a solar cell panel and a method for manufacturing the same. The solar cell panel comprises: a solar cell for generating electric power from sunlight; a coverglass for covering the solar cell; transparent shims, which are disposed between the solar cell and the coverglass at the points where the distance between the solar cell and the coverglass needs to be controlled, and form a space between the solar cell and the coverglass; and adhesive layer, which fills the space between the solar cell and the coverglass and has the thickness the same as that of the transparent shims
Molecular Excitation and Differential Gas-Phase Depletions in the IC 5146 Dark Cloud
We present a combined near-infrared and molecular-line study of 25' x 8' area
in the Northern streamer of the IC 5146 cloud. Using the technique pioneered by
Lada et al 1994, we construct a Gaussian smoothed map of the infrared
extinction with the same resolution as the molecular line observations in order
to examine correlations of integrated intensities and molecular abundances with
extinction for C17O, C34S, and N2H+. We find that over a visual extinction
range of 0 to 40 magnitudes, there is good evidence for the presence of
differential gas-phase depletions in the densest portions of IC 5146. Both CO
and CS exhibit a statistically significant (factor of ~3) abundance reduction
near Av ~ 12 magnitudes while, in direct contrast, at the highest extinctions,
Av > 10 magnitudes, N2H+ appears relatively undepleted. Moreover, for Av < 4
magnitudes there exists little or no N2H+. This pattern of depletions is

Chandra Observations of SDSS J1004+4112: Constraints on the Lensing Cluster and Anomalous X-Ray Flux Ratios of the Quadruply Imaged Quasar
We present results from Chandra observations of SDSS J1004+4112, a strongly
lensed quasar system with a maximum image separation of 15". All four bright
images of the quasar, as well as resolved X-ray emission originating from the
lensing cluster, are clearly detected. The emission from the lensing cluster
extends out to approximately 1.5 arcmin. We measure the bolometric X-ray
luminosity and temperature of the lensing cluster to be 4.7e44 erg s^-1 and 6.4
keV, consistent with the luminosity-temperature relation for distant clusters.
The mass estimated from the X-ray observation shows excellent agreement with
the mass derived from gravitational lensing. The X-ray flux ratios of the
quasar images differ markedly from the optical flux ratios, and the combined
X-ray spectrum of the images possesses an unusually strong Fe Kalpha emission

Deconstructing patient centred communication and uncovering shared decision making: an observational study
BACKGROUND: Patient centred communication (PCC) has been described as a method for doctor-patient communication. The principles of shared decision making (SDM) have been proposed more recently. AIMS: This study aimed to examine PCC and SDM empirically with respect to their mutual association, the variation in practitioners' working styles, and the associations with patient characteristics. METHODS: Sixty general practitioners recruited 596 adult patients who gave written consent to have their consultations videotaped. The tapes were assessed by two researchers, using a standardised instrument for global communication. For the purpose of this exploratory study, scales for PCC and SDM were based on subsamples of items in the MAAS. RESULTS: The scales for PCC and SDM were weakly associated (Pearson correlation: 0.25). Physicians varied more on SDM than on PCC. The intracluster correlation of the PCC and SDM scales were, respectively, 0.34 and 0.19. However, hypotheses regarding associations with patient characteristics were not confirmed. Neither PCC nor SDM scores were related to patient gender, education, age, functional health status or existence of chronic conditions. CONCLUSION: The study provides evidence that PCC and SDM can be differentiated and comprise approaches to communication between clinicians and patients which may be more clearly distinguished by further focused research and training developments
The Gaseous Environment of High-z Galaxies: Precision Measurements of Neutral Hydrogen in the Circumgalactic Medium of z ~ 2-3 Galaxies in the Keck Baryonic Structure Survey
We present results from the Keck Baryonic Structure Survey (KBSS), a unique
spectroscopic survey designed to explore the connection between galaxies and
intergalactic baryons. The KBSS is optimized for the redshift range z ~ 2-3,
combining S/N ~ 100 Keck/HIRES spectra of 15 hyperluminous QSOs with densely
sampled galaxy redshift surveys surrounding each QSO sightline. We perform
Voigt profile decomposition of all 6000 HI absorbers within the full Lya forest
in the QSO spectra. Here we present the distribution, column density,
kinematics, and absorber line widths of HI surrounding 886 star-forming
galaxies with 2.0 < z < 2.8 and within 3 Mpc of a QSO sightline. We find that
N_HI and the multiplicity of HI components increase rapidly near galaxies. The
strongest HI absorbers within ~ 100 physical kpc of galaxies have N_HI ~ 3 dex
higher than those near random locations in the IGM. The circumgalactic zone of
most enhanced HI absorption (CGM) is found within 300 kpc and 300 km/s of
galaxies. Nearly half of absorbers with log(N_HI) > 15.5 are found within the
CGM of galaxies meeting our photometric selection, while their CGM occupy only
1.5% of the cosmic volume. The spatial covering fraction, multiplicity of
absorption components, and characteristic N_HI remain elevated to transverse
distances of 2 physical Mpc. Absorbers with log(N_HI) > 14.5 are tightly
correlated with the positions of galaxies, while absorbers with lower N_HI are
correlated only on Mpc scales. Redshift anisotropies on Mpc scales indicate
coherent infall toward galaxies, while on scales of ~100 physical kpc peculiar
velocities of 260 km/s are indicated. The median Doppler widths of absorbers
within 1-3 virial radii of galaxies are ~50% larger than randomly chosen
absorbers of the same N_HI, suggesting higher gas temperatures and/or increased
turbulence likely caused by accretion shocks and/or galactic winds.Comment: Accepted to Ap

INTRODUCTION
It has been our purpose at Abilene Christian College down through the years to provide in the Annual Bible Lectureship programs that which would be appropriate for the time and most useful to the students and to the Lectureship visitors. The general subject for the 1946 lectures is “Things That Cannot Be Shaken.” This subject was selected because one of the battles, if not the battle, which the church faces today is against those forces which would undermine the bases of gospel truth. Many denominational leaders, in one way or another, are denying even the fundamentals of fundamentals— God is, the Bible is God\u27s Revelation, Jesus Christ is the Son of God and The Kingdom Cannot Be Shaken. Many others, some without knowing what they do, are accepting false teachings and ideologies which, if allowed to run their course, will destroy all true religion. It is believed that the 1946 lectures and this edition of the lectures will help toward establishing in the hearts of men the truth of the important theses discussed. It was the purpose of those who arranged the program that the Lectureship should, also, hold up Christianity as a working, practical religion; hence, the meetings on “Work in New Fields” and “The Church at Work.” The attendance of this Lectureship was the largest in the history of these yearly meetings. On Wednesday evening Brother Nichol spoke to a crowd of approximately 1700 persons. Other evening lectures were attended by crowds almost as large. Visitors came from more than a score of States and, also, from Canada and Mexico.
It is the hope of all of us at the College that the fellowship of the 1946 Lectureship and the instruction given by the various speakers will continue to do good for years without end.

Process evaluation for complex interventions in primary care: understanding trials using the normalization process model
Background: the Normalization Process Model is a conceptual tool intended to assist in understanding the factors that affect implementation processes in clinical trials and other evaluations of complex interventions. It focuses on the ways that the implementation of complex interventions is shaped by problems of workability and integration.Method: in this paper the model is applied to two different complex trials: (i) the delivery of problem solving therapies for psychosocial distress, and (ii) the delivery of nurse-led clinics for heart failure treatment in primary care.Results: application of the model shows how process evaluations need to focus on more than the immediate contexts in which trial outcomes are generated. Problems relating to intervention workability and integration also need to be understood. The model may be used effectively to explain the implementation process in trials of complex interventions.Conclusion: the model invites evaluators to attend equally to considering how a complex intervention interacts with existing patterns of service organization, professional practice, and professional-patient interaction. The justification for this may be found in the abundance of reports of clinical effectiveness for interventions that have little hope of being implemented in real healthcare setting
Accretion Rate and the Physical Nature of Unobscured Active Galaxies
We show how accretion rate governs the physical properties of a sample of
unobscured broad-line, narrow-line, and lineless active galactic nuclei (AGNs).
We avoid the systematic errors plaguing previous studies of AGN accretion rate
by using accurate accretion luminosities (L_int) from well-sampled
multiwavelength SEDs from the Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS), and accurate
black hole masses derived from virial scaling relations (for broad-line AGNs)
or host-AGN relations (for narrow-line and lineless AGNs). In general, broad
emission lines are present only at the highest accretion rates (L_int/L_Edd >
0.01), and these rapidly accreting AGNs are observed as broad-line AGNs or
possibly as obscured narrow-line AGNs. Narrow-line and lineless AGNs at lower
specific accretion rates (L_int/L_Edd < 0.01) are unobscured and yet lack a
broad line region. The disappearance of the broad emission lines is caused by
an expanding radiatively inefficient accretion flow (RIAF) at the inner radius
of the accretion disk. The presence of the RIAF also drives L_int/L_Edd < 10^-2
narrow-line and lineless AGNs to 10 times higher ratios of radio to optical/UV
emission than L_int/L_Edd > 0.01 broad-line AGNs, since the unbound nature of
the RIAF means it is easier to form a radio outflow. The IR torus signature
also tends to become weaker or disappear from L_int/L_Edd < 0.01 AGNs, although
there may be additional mid-IR synchrotron emission associated with the RIAF.
Together these results suggest that specific accretion rate is an important

Pharmacologic inhibition of S-nitrosoglutathione reductase protects against experimental asthma in BALB/c mice through attenuation of both bronchoconstriction and inflammation
BACKGROUND: S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) serves as a reservoir for nitric oxide (NO) and thus is a key homeostatic regulator of airway smooth muscle tone and inflammation. Decreased levels of GSNO in the lungs of asthmatics have been attributed to increased GSNO catabolism via GSNO reductase (GSNOR) leading to loss of GSNO- and NO- mediated bronchodilatory and anti-inflammatory actions. GSNOR inhibition with the novel small molecule, N6022, was explored as a therapeutic approach in an experimental model of asthma. METHODS: Female BALB/c mice were sensitized and subsequently challenged with ovalbumin (OVA). Efficacy was determined by measuring both airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR) upon methacholine (MCh) challenge using whole body plethysmography and pulmonary eosinophilia by quantifying the numbers of these cells in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). Several other potential biomarkers of GSNOR inhibition were measured including levels of nitrite, cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), and inflammatory cytokines, as well as DNA binding activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB). The dose response, onset of action, and duration of action of a single intravenous dose of N6022 given from 30 min to 48 h prior to MCh challenge were determined and compared to effects in mice not sensitized to OVA. The direct effect of N6022 on airway smooth muscle tone also was assessed in isolated rat tracheal rings. RESULTS: N6022 attenuated AHR (ED(50) of 0.015 ± 0.002 mg/kg; Mean ± SEM) and eosinophilia. Effects were observed from 30 min to 48 h after treatment and were comparable to those achieved with three inhaled doses of ipratropium plus albuterol used as the positive control. N6022 increased BALF nitrite and plasma cGMP, while restoring BALF and plasma inflammatory markers toward baseline values. N6022 treatment also attenuated the OVA-induced increase in NFκB activation. In rat tracheal rings, N6022 decreased contractile responses to MCh. CONCLUSIONS: The significant bronchodilatory and anti-inflammatory actions of N6022 in the airways are consistent with restoration of GSNO levels through GSNOR inhibition. GSNOR inhibition may offer a therapeutic approach for the treatment of asthma and other inflammatory lung diseases.
