The Involvement of Laminin in Anti-Myocardial Cell Autoimmune Response in Murine Chagas Disease

The pathogenesis of chronic chagasic cardiomyophathy associated with Chagas disease is still controversial, although evidence indicates a T cell-dependent autoimmune process. Using a mouse model for chronic Chagas disease, we previously evidenced that hearts grafted within the ears of Trypanosoma cruzi infected syngeneic recipients were rejected through a CD4+ T cell-dependent mechanism. Moreover, we showed that such a process was dependent on laminin-mediated interactions, since it could be abrogated by anti-laminin or anti-laminin receptor antibodies. In this review the same passive cell transfer model is considered for discussion: the participation of the laminin alteration in the composition of the inflammatory infiltrate formed in response to the antimyocardial autoreactive CD4+ T cells, as well as the presence of laminin-binding cytokines. Finally we suggest the existence of a relationship between the inflammatory infiltrate, the laminin contents and deposition of pro-inflammatory laminin-binding cytokines, which may act in concert during the generation of Chagas disease- related cardiomyophathy

Knowledge of the health personnel of a clinic in Bogotá about the Mandatory Quality Assurance System in Health Care

Esta investigación se basa en la normatividad colombiana, establecida en el Decreto 1011 del 2006, a partir de la cual se crean los estándares del Sistema Obligatorio de Garantía de Calidad de la Atención de Salud (SOGCS). Objetivo: evaluar el conocimiento que tienen los funcionarios de la clínica N respecto al SOGCS. Materiales y métodos: se aplicó una metodología descriptiva y evaluativa con la que se estableció el grado de conocimiento que tiene el personal que labora en la clínica acerca de esta normatividad. La muestra fue de 341 miembros del personal de todas las áreas de la clínica, seleccionados de manera aleatoria, a quienes se les aplicaron encuestas diseñadas para este estudio. Resultados: se evidenció desconocimiento sobre las generalidades del Decreto 1011 del 2006; sin embargo, se identificó que el personal encuestado conoce los estándares de la norma, dado que la institución se encuentra en proceso de habilitación, por lo que continuamente capacita a sus funcionarios. Conclusión: aunque el grado de conocimiento acerca del SOGCS es bueno, es necesario fortalecer el proceso de capacitación al personal en el conocimiento del Decreto 1011 del 2006.This research examines the regulations established in Decree 1011 of 2006 in Colombia, which allowed the creation of the standards of the Mandatory Quality Assurance System in Health Care (SOGCS, for its acronym in Spanish). Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of the personnel of the “N” clinic about SOGCS. Materials and methods: A descriptive and evaluative methodology was applied to assess the degree of knowledge of the personnel working at the clinic about these regulations. The sample consisted of 341 randomly selected staff members from all areas of the clinic, who were surveyed for this study. Results: It was possible to demonstrate a lack of awareness about the generalities of Decree 1011 of 2006; the study evidenced, however, that the surveyed personnel know about the normative standards, given that the institution is in the process of qualification and continuously trains its staff. Conclusion: Although the degree of knowledge about SOGCS is good, it is necessary to strengthen the training process of the personnel to improve their specific knowledge about Decree 1011 of 2006

SAMBA RECEPTION DESK: COMPROMISING AESTHETICS, FABRICATION AND STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE WITH THE USE OF VIRTUAL AND PHYSICAL MODELS IN THE DESIGN PROCESS

The present paper describes an integrative design experiment in which different types of models were used in order to achieve a design that compromises aesthetics, lightness, fabrication, assembly and structural performance. It shows how an integrative aproach, through the use of both virtual and physical models, can provide valuable feedback in different phases of the design and fabrication process. It was possible to conclude that the design method used allowed solving many problems and had a significant impact in the resulting object

Perfil dos consumidores de hortaliças minimamente processadas no Distrito Federal

Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Agronomia e Medicina Veterinária, Departamento de Gestão de Agronegócios, 2017.A procura por alimentos que se adequem ao estilo de vida da sociedade moderna está cada vez mais evidente na vida dos consumidores finais. As pessoas têm consumido mais hortaliças e frutas em suas variadas formas apresentadas ao consumidor devido ao aumento de renda familiar e a procura por uma alimentação que possua um preparo rápido e ao mesmo tempo seja saudável. O trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar o perfil das pessoas que consomem as hortaliças minimamente processadas, apontando o porquê de comprar esse tipo de alimento e o chama mais atenção ao escolhê-los. A pesquisa é identificada como exploratória e descritiva, utilizando questões abertas e fechadas. A aplicação desse questionário foi feita para 120 indivíduos, sendo feita uma analise quantitativa/qualitativa nos dados adquiridos. Os assuntos tratados foram sobre a preferência, consumo, características que interferem a escolha do produto, frequência e problemas encontrados na compra. A maior parcela dos consumidores de hortaliças minimamente processadas são do sexo feminino, com idade variando de 20 a 30 anos com um ensino superior incompleto e que possuem uma renda elevada. Como os consumidores possuem uma vida corrida, mas buscam uma alimentação de rápido preparo, o fator mais escolhido foi à praticidade com a porcentagem de 57,1%. A maior parte dos consumidores compram esses produtos a menos de 1 ano e raramente é feito o seu consumo, tendo que 56,8% não possui dificuldades de encontrar o produto. Os consumidores consideram que o problema maior na compra desse alimento é o preço elevado

Tendo como leituras principais Lukács (1965), Watt (2010) e Bakhtin (2010) para estudar os romances que possivelmente apresentem problemas na sua elaboração, sejam de ordem do conteúdo ou da forma, o romance Chove nos campos de Cachoeira, de Dalcídio Jurandir (1909 – 1979), cuja primeira edição é de 1941, é meu objeto de trabalho. Essa obra em vários momentos foi considerada ora sem qualidades literárias ora elevada ao porte das grandes criações. Mais do que verificar as qualidades e os defeitos desse romance de feição regionalista, que está em sua  8ª. edição, lançada em 2019, o objetivo aqui é realizar uma leitura ampla dos elementos da narrativa para averiguar em que medida esse escritor paraense contribui para a formação da literatura brasileira, em especial da literatura amazônica, e o quanto se inseriu na problemática de sua época, tanto em relação às escolhas literárias quanto a utilização de elementos locais

Authoritarian spaces: the railroad Noroeste do Brasil and the empire's bureaucracy

Este ensayo se ocupa de los espacios del poder autoritario en el gobierno de Brasil. Se inicia con la estructura administrativa, así como los espacios de sus oficinas bajo la influencia de la administración monografía científica Principios del ingeniero industrial Frederick Taylor en el ferrocarril del noroeste de Brasil. Sin embargo, ya se sabía que las administraciones autoritarias desde la llegada de la familia real portuguesa al país cuando trajeron el modelo administrativo en la forma de una burocracia. El advenimiento del organigrama y diagrama de flujo para gestionar espacios de producción social siempre se ha guiado por el diseño de la extrema división del trabajo asociado con los controles y prácticas de vigilancia. La separación entre los gobernantes de los que obedecen fue el tema central de esta división del trabajo. Incluso cuando el taylorismo fue reemplazado por otras llamadas teorías democráticas, como la Teoría de las Relaciones Humanas, la intención fue siempre la de intensificar la explotación de la fuerza de trabajo a través de la desestimación de su poder. La práctica de las organizaciones administrativas diseñadas por cartas de extrema división del trabajo ha servido para separar los gobernantes de marcha con la ayuda de diagramas de flujo dirigido el curso de la información que mantiene desinformados e informado a los que obedecen los que deciden y dificultando el acceso de los primeros a los segundos . Se puede decir que esta gestión práctica autoritaria persiste hoy en el gobierno brasileño.This essay deals with the Strength of Authority in the Brazilian Public Administration. It discusses the administrative structure and draws attention to the influence of The Principles of Scientific Administration by Frederick Taylor used at the Northwestern Brazillian Railroad, as regards the the distribution of office space and right of speech. As legatees of the authoritarian administration brought over by the Portuguese Royal Family, we were already quite familiar with a bureaucratic model. The organogram and fluxogram tools of social production have always taken for granted the division of work associated to practices of control and close inspection.The gap between those who order, and those who must obey, has always been the main feature of the duties allocation practice. Even when Taylorism was later replaced by other so called “democratic theories”, such as the Theory of Human Relations , the aim has always been that of intensifying the exploitation of the labourers by destituting them of their power. The practice of administrative organizations following organograms has set apart and and helped increase the gap between those who were in command and those who were there to obey unquestioningly, and unknowingly.Fluxograms were very effective tools when it came to installing the power of those who must detain the information and those who must needs remain uninformed. Any form of approximation between the two groups was made virtually impossible.This authoritarian managerial model still persists and pervades through the Brazilian Public Administration.Este ensaio trata dos espaços do poder autoritário nas administrações públicas do Brasil. Parte-se da estrutura administrativa assim como dos espaços de seus escritórios sob a influência da monografia Princípios de administração cientifica do engenheiro mecânico Frederick Taylor na Estrada de Ferro Noroeste do Brasil. No entanto, já se conhecia as gestões autoritárias desde a vinda da família Real Portuguesa ao país quando trouxeram o modelo administrativo no formato de uma Burocracia. O advento do organograma e do fluxograma para gerenciar espaços da produção social sempre se pautou pelo desenho da extrema divisão do trabalho associada a práticas de controles e vigilância. A separação entre os que mandam dos que obedecem foi a tônica desta divisão do trabalho. Mesmo quando o taylorismo foi substituído por outras teorias ditas democráticas, como a Teoria das Relações Humanas, o intuito sempre foi intensificar a exploração da força de trabalho através da destituição de seu poder. A prática das organizações administrativas desenhadas por organogramas de extrema divisão do trabalho tem servido para separar os que mandam dos que executam auxiliadas por fluxogramas direcionados ao curso das informações que mantém desinformados os que obedecem e informados os que decidem e dificultando o acesso dos primeiros aos segundos. É possível dizer que esta pratica autoritária de gestão persiste ainda hoje nas administrações públicas brasileiras.

Social Representations of Bogota - Colombia Inhabitants Regarding a Conditional Cash Transfer Policy

The current article shows the development of a research process whose main objective was to explain the influence of the social representations of the inhabitants of Bogotá, Colombia in the implementation of the public policy of conditional cash transfers “Más Familias en Acción.” For this aim, a qualitative study of hermeneutic design was conducted with beneficiaries of the program and non-beneficiaries, in which, through the application of semi-structured interviews, the most frequent social representations about subsidies, policies, work, education, health, among other relevant issues related to this public policy were identified and once the information was coded by using the Atlas.ti software, interpretation of results was done making possible to establish a relationship between the social representations found and the implementation of “Más Familias en Acción,” leading to the understanding of how social representations as sets of ideas, values and practices that become a social code that denominates the individual and collective reality, have influence both in the way in which the beneficiaries of the program conceive their social reality, and in the sense they give to the program, as well as in their articulation and interaction with it, enabling its implementation, which may or may not occur according to the objectives of public policy

Uso de los servicios de urgencias en Bogotá, Colombia: Un análisis desde el Triaje

Introduction: Emergency services are critical points for the quality of care. Understanding the reasons for their use contributes to the improvement of health systems. Objective: To describe the characteristics of members of the contributory regime who used emergency services in three level III hospitals of complexity in Bogotá, as well as the diagnostic impressions and chronological distribution of the demand, according to the data obtained at the time of being classified in the triage. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted based on triage records from October 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013. Results: A third of the records were classified as non-urgent medical consultation. Monday had the greatest number of attentions. Emergencies had daytime behavior. Variables such as: female sex, membership status as a contributor to the health system and age to work were associated with differences in the classification of triage at the time of demand for emergencies. Conclusion: The use of the emergency services is influenced by the relation between: demographic characteristics, condition of affiliation to the health system and classification of the triage

Exploring potential implementations of PCE in IoT world

This manuscript version is made available under the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/The recently coined Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm leverages a large volume of heterogeneous Network Elements (NEs) demanding broad connectivity anywhere, anytime and anyhow, fueling the deployment of innovative Internet services, such as Cloud or Fog Computing, Data Center Networks (DCNs), Smart Cities or Smart Transportation. The proper deployment of these novel Internet services is imposing hard connectivity constraints, such as high transmission capacity, reliable communications, as well as an efficient control scheme capable of enabling an agile coordination of actions in large heterogeneous scenarios. In recent years, novel control schemes, such as the so-called Path Computation Element (PCE) has gained momentum in the network research community turning into real PCE implementations. Indeed, there is a wealth of studies assessing the PCE performance, clearly showing the potential benefits of decoupling routing control tasks from the forwarding nodes. Nevertheless, recognized the need for a control solution in IoT scenarios, there is not much published information analyzing PCE benefits in these IoT scenarios. In this paper, we distill how the PCE may gracefully provide for service composition in an agile manner, handling the specific constraints and requirements found in IoT scenarios. To this end, we propose a novel PCE strategy referred to as Service-Oriented PCE (SPCE), which enables network-aware service composition.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
