This present paper aims to map and discuss concepts about folksonomy and tagging in Segmented Social Network Sites (SSNS) book-based. We ́re considering diferent ways of classification and categorization done by Goodreads users. Our investigation starts from theoretical debates about recommendation systems and folksonomy in social networking sites and their diferent uses. In order to develop the application of these concepts we ́ve made an exploratory observation of Goodreads and its potentialities of social tagging. Initial results shows that Goodreads folksonomy can be understood as a process for personal organization of readings and social tagging can work for searchability and visibility of the book reviews

[English]:Remarks on the concept of object of psychology is Richard Avenarius last work and it represents his attempt to establish the fledgling scientific, physiological, experimental psychology on rigorous philosophical basis. With this work the founder of the so-called Empiriocriticism participates to the wide debate on the definition of psychology, along with notable personalities of the time, such as Wilhelm Wundt, Ernst Mach, Oswald Külpe, Hermann Ebbinghaus, Hugo Münsterberg and Edward B. Titchener./ [Italiano]: Le Osservazioni sul concetto di oggetto della psicologia costituiscono l’ultima opera di Richard Avenarius, in cui il fondatore dell’empiriocriticismo presenta il suo tentativo di fondare su basi filosoficamente rigorose la neonata psicologia scientifica di stampo fisiologico-sperimentale.

The main objective of the study was to analyze the influence of text characteristics, namely the integration of images and schemas, in interest and understanding perceived by students. Three types of different expository texts (simple expository text, expository text with schema and expository text with image) were elaborated. Participants were 69 students of classes of the 2nd cycle of basic education and were asked to read the text and answer to a survey that included questions about their interest and comprehension. The results showed that the expository text with image is what obtains higher levels of interest and understanding.

Hydrogel-Assisted Antisense LNA Gapmer Delivery for In Situ Gene Silencing in Spinal Cord Injury

After spinal cord injury (SCI), nerve regeneration is severely hampered due to the establishment of a highly inhibitory microenvironment at the injury site, through the contribution of multiple factors. The potential of antisense oligonucleotides (AONs) to modify gene expression at different levels, allowing the regulation of cell survival and cell function, together with the availability of chemically modified nucleic acids with favorable biopharmaceutical properties, make AONs an attractive tool for novel SCI therapy developments. In this work, we explored the potential of locked nucleic acid (LNA)-modified AON gapmers in combination with a fibrin hydrogel bridging material to induce gene silencing in situ at a SCI lesion site. LNA gapmers were effectively developed against two promising gene targets aiming at enhancing axonal regeneration—RhoA and GSK3ß. The fibrin-matrix-assisted AON delivery system mediated potent RNA knockdown in vitro in a dorsal root ganglion explant culture system and in vivo at a SCI lesion site, achieving around 75% downregulation 5 days after hydrogel injection. Our results show that local implantation of a AON-gapmer-loaded hydrogel matrix mediated efficient gene silencing in the lesioned spinal cord and is an innovative platform that can potentially combine gene regulation with regenerative permissive substrates aiming at SCI therapeutics and nerve regeneration. This work was supported by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia ( FCT , Portugal) in the framework of the Harvard-Portugal Medical School Program ( HMSP-ICT/0020/2010 ); Project NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000008 , supported by the Norte Portugal Regional Operational Programme (NORTE 2020) , under the PORTUGAL 2020 Partnership Agreement, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) ; Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional funds through COMPETE 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization (POCI) , Portugal 2020; by Portuguese funds through FCT/Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior in the framework of the project “Institute for Research and Innovation in Health Sciences” ( POCI-01-0145-FEDER-007274 ); Marie Curie Actions of the European Community’s 7th Framework Program ( PIEF-GA-2011-300485 to P.M.D.M.); Santa Casa da Misericordia de Lisboa – Prémio Neurociências Mello e Castro , and FCT fellowship SFRH/BPD/108738/2015 (to P.M.D.M). Introduction: Physical inactivity, sedentary behavior and poor nutrition are behaviors currently adopted by adolescents, which have facilitated the development of cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure. Study design: This is a school-based epidemiological study with a cross-sectional design. Objective: A analyze the high blood pressure (HBP) prevalence and its association with anthropometric indicators. Methods: Participants were 202 adolescents from Sao José-SC. Measures of body weight, height and waist circumference (WC) were used to calculate the anthropometric indicators of Body Mass Index (BMI), Conicity Index (C index) and Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHR). Blood pressure was measured by a digital Omrom HEM 742. Results: The prevalence of HBP among the adolescents was 10.9%. Overweight adolescents (OR= 5.68; 95%CI= 1.99-16.24) and those with high WC (OR= 7.67; 95%CI= 2.54-23.19) and high WHR (OR= 5.88; 95%CI= 1.71-20.25) were more likely to present HBP than their normal weight and with healthy WC and WHR peers. Conclusion: The results of the present study demonstrated that one in ten adolescents presented HBP. Body Mass Index (overweight), WC and WHR (unhealthy conditions) were associated to the outcome.

Method – Muscle strength in tibiotarsal joint and proprioceptivity were evaluated and compared between three groups, with supervised proprioceptive training (GE), another unsupervised (GC1) and another with technical gesture training (GC2) over a nine week period, two to three times per week. Results – Both GE and GC1 showed significant increases (p<0.01) of proprioceptivity compared with GC2. Conclusion – The results suggest that after a short period of proprioceptive training, athletes improve their proprioceptivity but not necessarily tibiotarsal joint muscle strength. According to the study, supervision does not have an impact over training efficacy.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Genetic insights into elephantgrass persistence for bioenergy purpose.

Abstract Persistence may be defined as high sustained yield over multi-harvest. Genetic insights about persistence are essential to ensure the success of breeding programs and any biomass-based project. This paper focuses on assessing the biomass yield persistence for bioenergy purpose of 100 elephantgrass clones measured in six growth seasons in Brazil. To assess the clones' persistence, an index based on random regression models and genotype-ideotype distance was proposed. Results suggested the existence of wide genetic variability between elephantgrass clones, and that the yield trajectories along the harvests generate genetic insights into elephantgrass clones' persistence and G x E interaction. A gene pool that acts over the biomass yield (regardless of the harvest) was detected, as well as other gene pools, which show differences on genes expression (these genes are the major responsible for clones' persistence). The lower and higher clones' persistence was discussed based on genome dosage effect and natural biological nitrogen fixation ability applied to bioenergy industry. The huge potential of energy crops necessarily is associated with genetic insights into persistence, so just this way, breeding programs could breed a new cultivar that fulfills the bioenergy industries
