Study of DJ meson decays to D+Ïâ, D0Ï+ and Dâ+Ïâ final states in pp collisions
A study of D+Ïâ, D0Ï+ and Dâ+Ïâ final states is performed using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fbâ1, collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV with the LHCb detector. The D1(2420)0 resonance is observed in the Dâ+Ïâ final state and the Dâ2(2460) resonance is observed in the D+Ïâ, D0Ï+ and Dâ+Ïâ final states. For both resonances, their properties and spin-parity assignments are obtained. In addition, two natural parity and two unnatural parity resonances are observed in the mass region between 2500 and 2800 MeV. Further structures in the region around 3000 MeV are observed in all the Dâ+Ïâ, D+Ïâ and D0Ï+ final states
First observation of the decay B+câJ/ÏK+
The decay B+câJ/ÏK+ is observed for the first time using a data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fbâ1, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. A yield of 46 ± 12 events is reported, with a significance of 5.0 standard deviations. The ratio of the branching fraction of B+câJ/ÏK+ to that of B+câJ/ÏÏ+ is measured to be 0.069 ± 0.019 ± 0.005, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic
Limits on neutral Higgs boson production in the forward region in pp collisions at sâ=7 TeV
Limits on the cross-section times branching fraction for neutral Higgs bosons, produced in pp collisions at TeX TeV, and decaying to two tau leptons with pseudorapidities between 2.0 and 4.5, are presented. The result is based on a dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fbâ1, collected with the LHCb detector. Candidates are identified by reconstructing final states with two muons, a muon and an electron, a muon and a hadron, or an electron and a hadron. A model independent upper limit at the 95% confidence level is set on a neutral Higgs boson cross-section times branching fraction. It varies from 8.6 pb for a Higgs boson mass of 90 GeV to 0.7 pb for a Higgs boson mass of 250 GeV, and is compared to the Standard Model expectation. An upper limit on tan ÎČ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Model is set in the TeX scenario. It ranges from 34 for a CP -odd Higgs boson mass of 90 GeV to 70 for a pseudo-scalar Higgs boson mass of 140 GeV
Measurement of CP asymmetries in the decays B-0 -> K-*0 mu(+) mu(-) and B+ -> K+ mu(+) mu(-)
The direct CP asymmetries of the decays B-0 -> K-*0 mu(+) mu(-) and B+ -> K+ mu(+) mu(-) are measured using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. The respective control modes B-0 -> J/psi K+ and B+ -> J/psi K+ are used to account for detection and production asymmetries. The measurements are made in several intervals of mu(+)mu(-) invariant mass squared, with the phi(1020) and charmonium resonance regions excluded. Under the hypothesis of zero CP asymmetry in the control modes, the average values of the asymmetries are A(CP)(B-0 -> K-*0 mu(+) mu(-) and B+ -> K+ mu(+) mu(-)) = -0.035 +/- 0.024 +/- 0.003, A(CP)(B+ -> K+ mu(+) mu(-) = 0.012 +/- 0.017 +/- 0.001, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are due to systematic effects. Both measurements are consistent with the Standard Model prediction of small CP asymmetry in these decays
