El "Cansonero del Conte di Popoli" : Ms Ital 1035 de la Biblioteca Nacional de Paris

Tesis de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Facultad de Filología, Departamento de Filología Italiana, leída el 15-11-1991El autor de la Tesis realiza la EDICIÓN CRÍTICA A CÓDIGO ÚNICO del manuscrito reseñado mediante una exhaustiva recopilación de datos en rigurosa valoración y ordenación que le lleva a la comprensión de un período histórico de las culturas italiana y española representadas en una Koine meridional, fundamentalmente napolitana. El método le lleva al autor, mediante la descripción codicológica y morfológica, al conocimiento de los autores funcionarios y la figura del recopilador, Conte di Popoli, a establecer que es el texto más temprano de los conocidos en la literatura aragonesa de Koine dialectal, en período aragones, en el que se demuestra que Nápoles está creando un código de expresión distinto para un género puramente cortesano, transformando el dialecto en el ingrediente intencional de asimilación al poder político. The article aims to take singer/songwriting as a genre in itself that nevertheless shares visions of humankind and strategies with other arts, such as literature, which it so often feeds off. In this way, the presence and use of preceding traditions sometimes becomes the core of the genre. This can be seen in some of Francesco Guccini’s output throughout his songbooks/records, which make up an important part of his poetics.El artículo pretende partir de la canción de autor como un género ad se que, aun así, comparte visiones del hombre y estrategias con otras artes como la literatura, de la que tantas veces se nutre. Some notes on the Machiavelli of Antonio Gramsci

Partiendo de la constatación de la manipulación o amaneramiento de los términos referentes a Maquiavelo, el ensayo trata de mostrar cómo la figura de Maquiavelo es un elemento recurrente y hasta central en los Quaderni del carcere de Antonio Gramsci, quien incorpora a su pensamiento sobre el escritor florentino las interpretaciones de otros, contextualizándolas y calificándolas desde los aparatos ideológicos e históricos que las informan, y llega a la conclusión de que Maquiavelo es el conocedor y analista de todos los resortes que conforman ese aparato de poder, que puede llegar hasta los espacios más pequeños, y constituyen un modode vivir, hegemonía.This essay is based on the finding of manipulation or mannerisms of the terms relating to Machiavelli. Starting from there, it tries to show how the figure of Machiavelli is a recurrent and even central element in the Quaderni del carcere of Antonio Gramsci. This author incorporated into his thinking about the Florentine writer interpretations of others, he contextualizes them and qualifies them from ideological and historical items that inform them and concludes that Machiavelli is the expert and analyst of all the springs that make up that unit of power, which can reach the smaller spaces, and are a way of life, hegemony

Regional water footprint and water management: the case of Madrid region (Spain)

Water resources and water footprint of the production and consumption in Madrid region were estimated, considering blue water (water resources), green water (soil moisture), grey water (polluted water) and virtual water (water trade in products imported and exported in the region). Water resources in Madrid relay mainly in surface waters and rainfall, so the periodic occurrence of meteorological droughts implies the scarcity of water supply. The main users of blue water are households, municipalities and agriculture. Production water footprint is approximately 2,000 hm3 per year, almost four times the blue water available resources in the region. Consumption water footprint is around 9,000 hm3 per year from which 80% is net imported virtual water, so Madrid depends on external water resources in order to supply the actual consumption needs. These should be more sustainable reconsidering the consumption pattern, as 60% of the water footprint is due to meat production

Primary breast cancer and health related quality of life in Spanish women: The EpiGEICAM case-control study

This study evaluates the impact of breast cancer (BC) in health related quality of life (HRQL) and in psychological distress (PD) during the initial phases of the disease and looks for contributing factors. A multicentric case-control study, EpiGEICAM, was carried out. Incident BC cases and age- and residence- matched controls were included. Clinical, epidemiological, HRQL (SF-36) and PD information (GHQ-28) was collected. We used multivariable logistic regression models to estimate OR of low HRQL and of PD in cases compared to controls, and to identify factors associated with low HRQL and with PD. Among 896 BC cases and 890 control women, cases had poorer scores than both, the reference population and the control group, in all SF-36 scales. BC women with lower education, younger, active workers, never smokers, those with comorbidities, in stage IV and with surgical treatment had lower physical HRQL; factors associated with low mental HRQL were dissatisfaction with social support, being current smoker and having children. Cases had a fivefold increased odds of PD compared to controls. Managing comorbidities and trying to promote social support, especially in younger and less educated women, could improve well-being of BC patients

Ornamental plants and the production of nature(s) in the Spanish real estate boom and bust: the case of Alicante

The Spanish real estate boom and bust of the 2000s caused immense economic, social, and environmental changes across the country. Massive urbanization, however, does not necessarily entail the end of nature and natural processes, instead marking a radical transformation of environments and societies. Through a political ecology approach, we analyze how ornamental species have become a fundamental part of new natures induced by urbanization in the Spanish province of Alicante. We connect the economic and ecological characteristics of ornamental plants like the palm tree to urbanization and real estate trends in Alicante. Our evidence indicates that, in Alicante, economic recession and environmental crises (manifested in the pests affecting palm trees) have mutually reinforced one other, creating a new geography of ecological desolation in many areas.Financial support for this research was provided by the Spanish CICYT under grants [grant number CSO2009-12772-03-01], [grant number CSO2009-12772-03-03]
