Mexico is recognized worldwide for the extension of its coastlines and its tourist exploitation. Quintana Roo is one of the Mexican states, which has a shoreline of approximately 800 km, known as the Mexican Caribbean. The hurricanes that form in the Atlantic Ocean are the main natural hazard to which this region is exposed. In this article, hurricane risk is evaluated for coastal cities through the definition of a system of indicators. Based on this indicators system, the Hurricane Risk Index (HRi) is calculated. This system allows the construction of vulnerability indices for different dimensions: physical, environmental, social, economic, cultural and institutional. The obtained results can contribute to the definition of public prevention policies and actions to reduce the levels of vulnerability and increase the resilience of these communities. This indicators model is applied to two coastal cities of the Mexican Caribbean; Mahahual, obtaining an HRi of 82.13%, and Chetumal obtaining an HRi of 69.31%, corresponding to the impact of Hurricane Dean in 2007. The proposed indicators system can be replicated for different hazards.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

This article have the purpose to determinate the impact that was had on the teachers of the National Technological Institute of Mexico in terms of the level of their commitment and exhaustion work during the times of COVID-19 pandemic, performing their teaching function throught teleworking, to carry out this study to work was carried out in collaboration with CIRCULAR HR Fundación Chile y UNESCO WHEC (World Higher Education Conference 2022), 1994 surveys were applied to teachers of all the categories of the Technological System. This instrument was applied in different universities convened by UNESCO, in total were 3351 surveys and the Technological System help the 59.5% of the information for this study. As part of the results obtained, it was found that if there were differences on the level of exhaustion depending on the main function of each teaching category and the gender, but the level of commitment remained the same regardless of seniority, gender or category in which teacher was.

The origin and speciation of orchids

SummaryOrchids constitute one of the most spectacular radiations of flowering plants. However, their origin, spread across the globe, and hotspots of speciation remain uncertain due to the lack of an up-to-date phylogeographic analysis. We present a new Orchidaceae phylogeny based on combined high-throughput and Sanger sequencing data, covering all five subfamilies, 17/22 tribes, 40/49 subtribes, 285/736 genera, and c. 7% (1921) of the 29 524 accepted species, and use it to infer geographic range evolution, diversity, and speciation patterns by adding curated geographical distributions from the World Checklist of Vascular Plants. The orchids' most recent common ancestor is inferred to have lived in Late Cretaceous Laurasia. The modern range of Apostasioideae, which comprises two genera with 16 species from India to northern Australia, is interpreted as relictual, similar to that of numerous other groups that went extinct at higher latitudes following the global climate cooling during the Oligocene. Despite their ancient origin, modern orchid species diversity mainly originated over the last 5 Ma, with the highest speciation rates in Panama and Costa Rica. These results alter our understanding of the geographic origin of orchids, previously proposed as Australian, and pinpoint Central America as a region of recent, explosive speciation

Introducción: To know the situation of quality of care in a third level pediatric hospital in the area of external consultation Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between January and July of 2016 through a personalized interview survey of family members of the Hospital Infantil de México who attended the outpatient clinic and asked questions related to the care given, focused on the area of nursing. Results: A total of 400 users were included. The age of participants was between 18 and 56 years old, with a high school education or lower in 66% (n = 264). Half of the users reported that the nurse was present and in the vast majority of cases I cordially greet them; In addition to explaining the procedures that had to be carried out. Despite the fact that up to 80% of users knew that they could complain about maltreatment by hospital staff, up to 71% did not identify where to perform it. Conclusions: In general, the treatment of the nurse to the relatives of the patients was good. A monitoring and training program should be implemented for health personnel involved in dealing directly with the family member and the patient.

Bogot
