Génesis y realidad del precariado intelectual en Francia. Un perfil de la crisis

La crisis que ha afectado a toda Europa a partir de 2008 ha provocado también una crisis de legibilidad del mundo social, que se traduce en la formación y circulación de nuevas representaciones sociales. En el presente artículo, nos centramos en una de estas nuevas representaciones que ya tenía precedentes en Francia desde los inicios de la década de 2000: los «intelectuales precarios» o «intellos précaires», como también se popularizó en los medios de comunicación. Analizaremos esta categoría social problemática ahondando en su génesis y en otras representaciones con las que ha compartido el campo de precariedad social. Basándonos en una encuesta llevada a cabo entre 2008-2011 caracterizaremos diversas experiencias vitales y trayectorias que esta representación comprende.The crisis that has been hitting Europe since 2008 is also a crisis of the intelligibility of the social sphere, hence entailing the formation of new social representations. This article focuses on a social representation that appeared in the early 2000s: the «precarious intellectuals». We are going to analyze this problematic social representation, by tracing its genesis and by positionning it in the field of rival social representations to which it belongs. Resorting to an investigation conducted between 2008 and 2011, we are also going to characterize some the social experiences targeted by this social representation

Institutions, Evolution and Knavery. A Post-Humean Approach

Este trabajo pretende mostrar (1) las líneas generales de la propuesta humeana de una teoría de la evolución de las instituciones en clave utilitarista; (2) en segundo lugar, analizará la objeción interna a esta teoría que supone la existencia de posibles sujetos no cooperadores pero inteligentes (vulneradores racionales de las normas de justicia, de los fundamentos del diseño institucional), (3) en tercer lugar, intentará también defender dicha teoría de la acusación externa de no tener un auténtico carácter normativo; y (4) al no haber desarrollado el propio Hume con detalle su contestación al problema del conflicto Moral/Racionalidad, tal y como surge en el contexto de su discusión de la Knavery, finalmente, y en cuarto lugar, este trabajo, yendo en un cierto sentido algo más allá de lo propuesto por Hume, ensayará un argumento post-humeano en torno a ese conflicto, basado, por una parte, en el reconocimiento de la multidimensionalidad de la Moral, así como en la paralela aceptación de la necesidad de un ajuste contextual de ésta, asentado sobre consideraciones primaria, que no exclusivamente, utilitaristas.This paper aims to show, first (1), the general lines of Hume’s proposed theory of the evolution of institutions from a utilitarian point of view; second (2), it aims also to analyse the internal objection to that theory that supposes the existence of possible uncooperative but intelligent agents (rational breakers of the standards of justice, of the foundations of institutional design); third (3), it tries to defend the theory from the external accusation of not having a really normative character; and fourth (4) given the lack of development in detail by Hume himself of his response to the problematic conflict between morals and rationality as raised in the context of his discussion of knavery, this work will go further than Hume’s theory with a post-humean argument supported, on one side, by the acceptance of the multidimensionality of morals, and, on the other side, by the parallel acceptance of the need for a contextual adjustment for morals, grounded mainly on utilitarian considerations, but not exclusively on them

Measurement of the neutron electric dipole moment by crystal diffraction

An experiment using a prototype setup to search for the neutron electric dipole moment by measuring spin-rotation in a non-centrosymmetric crystal (quartz) was carried out to investigate statistical sensitivity and systematic effects of the method. It has been demonstrated that the concept of the method works. The preliminary result of the experiment is $d_{\rm n}=(2.5\pm 6.5)\cdot 10^{-24}$ e$\cdot$cm. The experiment showed that an accuracy of $\sim 2.5\cdot 10^{-26}$ e$\cdot$cm can be obtained in 100 days data taking, using available quartz crystals and neutron beams.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure
