La influencia de las variables sociodemográficas y económicas en el consumo de alimentos ecológicos: un estudio exploratorio

En un escenario caracterizado por el continuo aumento de la agricultura ecológica en España, el incremento de la demanda interna de alimentos ecológicos es un objetivo prioritario, tanto para los agentes del sector, como para las administraciones públicas. En este trabajo, analizamos la influencia de determinadas variables sociodemográficas y económicas en el consumo de alimentos ecológicos en nuestro país. Los resultados obtenidos muestran, por un lado, que dichas variables sí tienen influencia en las pautas de consumo de los alimentos ecológicos, siendo distinta según el tipo de alimento y, por otro, que el modelo de distribución comercial es determinante en el nivel de la demanda

Análisis geotécnico-estructural de una edificación emmedue sobre un suelo compresible, aplicando modelos de medio continuo

En esta investigación se analizó geotécnica-estructuralmente una edificación de dos pisos configurada con el sistema estructural Emmedue (muros portantes), cimentada sobre un suelo compresible sujeto a asentamientos diferenciales, usando el software MIDAS GTS NX (GTS NX), para la determinación de los asentamientos diferenciales y esfuerzos en los elementos estructurales. Se configuró en GTS NX a través de elementos 2D (muros, losas y cubiertas) y 3D (losas de cimentación, suelos), con sus respectivas propiedades geomecánicas, y realizó el análisis acoplado y no acoplado del suelo-estructura. En el análisis acoplado suelo-estructura se verificó tanto los asentamientos como los esfuerzos producto de cargas gravitatorias, sísmicas y adicionalmente el efecto de consolidación (asentamientos) como el incremento de los esfuerzos en los elementos estructurales. En su defecto, el análisis no acoplado suelo-estructura, está en función del módulo de reacción de la subrasante que simula el comportamiento que tiene el suelo con respecto a la estructura, para identificar los asentamientos y esfuerzos en los elementos estructurales. Finalmente usando la teoría de Von Mises se determinó los sitios de los elementos (muros, losa de entrepiso, cubierta y losa de cimentación) susceptibles de falla.In this research, two-story building configured with the Emmedue structural system (load-bearing walls), footing on a compressible soil subject to differential settlements, was geotechnically-structurally analyzed, using the MIDAS GTS NX software (GTS NX), for the determination of the differential settlements and stresses in the structural elements. It was configured in GTS NX through 2D elements (walls, slabs and roofs) and 3D (foundation slabs, soils), with their respective geomechanical properties, and performed the coupled and non-coupled analysis of the soil-structure. The coupled soil-structure analysis, wich settlements and the stress resulting from gravitational and seismic loads in addition to, the effect of consolidation (settlements) and the increase in stress on the structural elements were verified. The uncoupled soil-structure analysis is a function of the subgrade reaction modulus that simulates the behavior of the soil with the respect structure, to identify the settlements and stresses in the structural elements. Finally, using Von Mises theory was determined the sites of the elements (walls, slab, roof and foundation slab) were susceptible to failure

Estudio del papel inmunomodulador de los antígenos larvarios de "Anisakis simplex"

La anisakidosis, causada por anisákidos (especialmente Anisakis simplex), es una parasitosis de distribución cosmopolita, con elevada prevalencia en países cuyos hábitos culinarios incluyen el consumo de pescado crudo o poco cocinado, como son Japón, España, países escandinavos, Perú o Chile. Hoy en día, supone una de las nematodosis más prevalentes en España, con una seroprevalencia variable entre las diferentes regiones españolas, con tasas que oscilan entre el 0,43% de Galicia y el 15,7% y 22,1% en regiones del centro y del sur, respectivamente. La parasitación por la larva L3 de anisákidos puede dar lugar a distintos cuadros clínicos, de carácter agudo o crónico, o por el contrario no dar sintomatología alguna. Estos cuadros están relacionados con la invasión de la larva L3 de la mucosa gastrointestinal mediante la rotura mecánica de los tejidos y la secreción de potentes enzimas proteolíticas capaces de degradar la matriz extracelular. Durante este proceso, las larvas de A. simplex despliegan mecanismos para modular la dicotomía de la respuesta inmune del hospedador en su propio beneficio, como es su acción anticoagulante o su capacidad para inhibir la producción de óxido nítrico por parte de los macrófagos, entre otras..

Applying the theory of constraints to the logistics service of medical records of a hospital

Management of patient records in a hospital is of major importance, for its impact both on the quality of care and on the associated costs. Since this process is circular, the prevention of the building up of bottlenecks is especially important. Thus, the objective of this paper was to analyze whether the Theory of Constraints (TOC) can be useful to the logistics of medical records in hospitals. The paper is based on a case study conducted about the 2007-2011 period in the Medical Records Logistics Service at the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena in Seville (Spain). From April 2008, a set of actions in the clinical record logistics system were implemented based on the application of TOC principles. The results obtained show a significant increase in the level of service and employee productivity, as well as a reduction of cost and the number of patients’ complaints

Experimental analysis of enhanced cement-sand-based geothermal grouting materials

Nowadays, Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are achieving significant efficiencies, mostly because of the development of their electromechanical components. However, concepts such as the technical performance of the grouting materials deserve more profound analysis, as becoming essential in areas where good potential thermal performance of the GSHP and serious risks of groundwater contamination exist. In this paper, several fluid mortars with enhanced characteristics have been evaluated. Results show improved mechanical and thermal properties compared to conventional grouting materials. Likewise, mortars exhibited good performance after being subjected to durability treatment. For now, the cost of some mortars may constitute a barrier.This work is based on the project with reference BIA2013-40917-R. COMPARISON OF GENDER IN THE PERCEPTION OF THE IMAGE AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BRAND POSITIONING

The brand exposure in graphic communication, require seconds to transmit the message that persuade the consumer to make the purchase, hence finding appropriate images is an important aspect for marketing managers.The images themselves convey emotion and the perception of them may be altered by the brand positioning.The way images are perceived may differ by gender; and also, the perception that people have of a brand can impact differently on each of them. In this experimental study, the main objective is to examine the relationship between the effects of brand image exposure to affective visual stimuli, differentiated by gender. 274 students (19 years old) from the Management School of the National University of Mexico participated in this study. 60 photos from the IAPS (International Affective Picture System) representing different emotional loads were used, each of them was embedded with a well-recognized and positioned brand in the market taken from the list of BrandZ, and Millward Brown top 100 (2010). The images were evaluated by a Likert scale with nine intervals. The results obtained suggest that the effect of the picture is different in each gender and this effect is modified by the impact of brand positioning on men and women differently. The results will have specific knowledge about the differential impressions of an image and the perception of the brand, so that marketing managers may have a greater impact on attention and memory in the design of their graphic campaigns

Robert de Cotte’s hydraulic drawings: the Pont Neuf Samaritaine pump in Paris

[EN] Robert De Cotte, Architect of Louis XIV, in addition to the maintenance of the Court buildings had various responsibilities relating to hydraulics. This article shows some of them, particularly the intervention in the maintenance and renovation of the Samaritaine pump located on Pont Neuf, which took water from the Seine to distribute it to the palaces and fountains in the center of Paris. Drawing from the study of the magnificent depictions of the architect’s projects between 1712 and 1719 conserved at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, (BnF), this paper analyzes drawings in the Academy, its characteristics, influence, and transformation toward the École Polytechnique style drawing of the end of the 18th century.[ES] Robert De Cotte, Arquitecto de Luis XIV, además del mantenimiento de los edificios de la Corte tuvo diversas responsabilidades relacionadas con la hidráulica. En este artículo se muestran algunas de ellas, y en particular la intervención en el mantenimiento y reforma de la bomba de la Samaritana situada en el Pont Neuf. que extraía agua del Sena para distribuirla por los palacios y fuentes del centro de Paris.
