Piecewise smooth stationary Euler flows with compact support via overdetermined boundary problems
We construct new stationary weak solutions of the 3D Euler equation with
compact support. The solutions, which are piecewise smooth and discontinuous
across a surface, are axisymmetric with swirl. The range of solutions we find
is different from, and larger than, the family of smooth stationary solutions
recently obtained by Gavrilov and Constantin-La-Vicol; in particular, these
solutions are not localizable. A key step in the proof is the construction of
solutions to an overdetermined elliptic boundary value problem where one
prescribes both Dirichlet and (nonconstant) Neumann data
Cubas Oil Plans Gather Speed with Foreign Aid Causing U.S. Concern\u27
Cuba is accelerating its oil-sector investments to increase its production, triple its refining capacity, and tap potential reserves in its exclusive economic zone in the Gulf of Mexico through a strategy that is attracting foreign companies and motivating environmental as well as political concerns in the US.This year, the island will produce about 28 million barrels of oil. Cuba generated 21.4 million barrels in 2010, which in addition to natural gas represents 46% of its energy consumption. Oil supplied by Caracas, Havanas main political and economic ally, meets the rest of the country\u27s needs. Cuba will start drilling exploratory wells this year in its exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the Gulf of Mexico under contract with Statoil (Norway), which has formed a consortium with Repsol (Spain), OVL (India), Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), PetroVietnam, Petronas (Malaysia), and Sonangol (Angola).\u2
The characters that populate the plays of Legom (Luis Enrique Gutiérrez Ortiz Monasterio) pertain to a family of literary beings who are unable to adapt to a dysfunctional society. This phenomenon links to the concept of the “pelado” featured in Cantinflas films and to the “utopia of the hunter” described by Zygmunt Bauman as a postmodern, hegemonic system that excludes and alienates. The tension between local and global is a fundamental aspect in the characters created by Legom. While the use of uniquely Mexican vulgarities establishes the “mexicanness” of his characters, their ideals and aspirations, albeit twisted and often misunderstood, are unmistakably transnational. Critics tend to use the term narraturgia to describe Legom’s dramatic production, yet closer analysis suggests that the playwright indeed strives to exclude the extra-dramatic in the creation and development of his characters
Creativity and emotional intelligence in postgraduate students in Architecture of FES Aragón, National Autonomous University of Mexico
superiores Aragón has been applied the Emotional Intelligence Test from Meyer-Salovey-
Caruso (MSCEIT) which evaluates the Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EIQ) through
four criteria: perception, comprehension and emotion management, and if these are used
for thinking. Besides, has been applied the Creativity Multifactorial Evaluation (EMUC)
from Sánchez and the Creative Problem Solving Test (PSCP) from Duarte. In the same
way, the results of the joint evaluation between EMUC and PSCP, reveal a standarized
behavior and an arithmetic average of 47.19 (high score). The parametrical analysis of
lineal correlation between creativity and emotional intelligence show that a r=0.07 exist
and in the order three polynomic tendency analysis the result was r=0.31. For both
results, lineal and nonlineal, the correlation is low, indicating that the relation between
EIQ and creativity is low in the studied communit
What are studies on cultural demands, customs and habits useful for in professional practice?
Primary bioreceptivity of granitic rocks to phototrophic biofilms. Development of a bioreceptivity index
A comprehensive evaluation of the primary bioreceptivity to phototrophic biofilms of several varieties of granite was carried out. The bioreceptivity of the granites was more strongly affected by the physical characteristics of the stones than by their chemical composition. Growth of phototrophic biofilms was strongly enhanced by high open porosity, capillary water content and surface roughness. The findings of the study enabled us to develop a robust and well-founded bioreceptivity index (BI) for granitic rocks. The proposed BI has two components: BIgrowth, which quantifies the extent of the biological growth, and BIcolour, which quantifies the colour change undergone by the stone due to the colonisation and which can be considered the bioreceptivity perceptible by the human eye. The index was fitted to a qualitative scale of 0-10 and can therefore be used as a decision-making tool for selection of appropriate lithotypes for building and/or ornamental purposes
