The day has passed when a company is willing to assign to a job any person that comes into its employment offices. With the labor market easing slightly, competition increasing, and production cost a at an extremely high level, there is a growing pressure on those responsible for employing labor to improve their selection methods. To such persons, testing represents a necessary addition to present employment practices

The White/ Sprunt family are descendants of George Pendleton and Ann Hutchinson White who helped shepherd in Rock Hill, SC’s beginnings. The White/Sprunt family would go on to become one of the leading families of Rock Hill and their descendants would help shape and mold Rock Hill’s history. The White/Sprunt Family Papers consists of photographs, glass plate negatives, correspondence, books, text books, and the Jeanie Sprunt White Diaries. The photographs and negatives are of vacations, family members, and life in Rock Hill, SC from the 1880s to the 1930s. The majority of the books in this collection are textbooks dating from the 1880s with the oldest being from 1848. The Jeanie Sprunt White Diaries consists of 23 dairies kept by Rock Hill resident Jeanie Sprunt White. Jeanie Sprunt White was married to James Spratt White, Jr. of the prominent White Family of Rock Hill, SC. The diaries cover everyday life in Rock Hill, SC from Jeanie Sprunt White\u27s prospective from 1896 to 1937.
