    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran fisika dengan model inkuiri terbimbing dipadukan dengan strategi pemecahan masalah dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran fisika dengan model inkuiri terbimbing tanpa strategi pemecahan masalah, serta memperoleh gambaran mengenai hubungan kemampuan kognitif dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran fisika dengan model inkuiri terbimbing dipadukan dengan strategi pemecahan masalah.Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain randomized control group pretest – posttest design. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas X pada salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung. Sampel sebanyak dua kelas yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi untuk kemampuan kognitif pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,74 yang memenuhi kriteria tinggi, dan pada kelas control sebesar 0,44 yang memenuhi kriteria sedang. Sedangkan, skor rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi untuk pemecahan masalah pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,50 yang memenuhi kriteria sedang, dan pada kelas control sebesar 0,24 yang memenuhi kriteria rendah. Berdasarkan uji beda rata-rata, pada taraf kepercayaan 95%, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dipadukan dengan strategi pemecahan masalah, secara signifikan dapat lebih meningkatkan kemampuan kognitifdan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dibandingkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing tanpa strategi pemecahan masalah. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang cukup kuat dan signifikan antara kemampuan kognitif dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,46 -------- The purpose of this study was to determine the differencebetween the “guided inquiry” instructional model combined with problem solving strategyand the “guide inquiry” instructional model without problem solving strategy in improving the students cognitive abilities and problem solving skills, and also to determine the correlation between problem solving skillsand the cognitive abilities inthe “guided inquiry” instructional model using the problem solving strategy.The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental with randomized control group pretest - posttest design. The population were all of students in grades in one of the senior high schools in Bandung. Samples were all students inX grade wereselectedby cluster sampling. The results showed that the average normalized gain scores of cognitive abilities in experiment class was 0.74 with the high criteria, and in control class was 0.44 with the medium criteria. The average scores are normalized gain of problem solving skills in experiment class was 0.50 with the medium criteria, and in control class was 0.24 with the low criteria. Based on the different test of the average, at 95% confidence level (0.050) the results of the study indicate that the “guided inquiry” instructional model using problem solving strategy more significantly improves students' cognitive abilities and problem solving skills than the “guided inquiry” instructional model without problem solving strategy.In addition, there was a strong and significant correlation between problem solving skills and cognitive abilities with the correlation score of 0,46

    IMPROVE COGNITIVE ABILITIES AND LEARNING MOTIVATION STUDENT IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WITH SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES AND STORYTELLING ACTIVITIES

    This research has been conducting to get a picture of improving cognitive abilities and learning motivation of students who get natural science subjects in elementary schools with a scientific approach and storytelling activities. The study has been conducting using quasi-experimental methods with a randomized one-group pretest-posttest design. The population is all grade IV students of SD Negeri 7 Jakarta. A sample of one class has been selecting by random cluster sampling. The sample of this research was class IV C, with 30 students. Test instruments in the form of essay tests were 15 items, and learning motivation questionnaires were 12 items with five options using the Likert Scale. The data has been processing with the help of SPSS 22 software. The results showed that there was an increase in students' cognitive abilities with a gain value of 0.55 in the medium category. Student learning motivation has been obtaining an increase of 85.76% in the top category

    Penerapan Modul Elektronik Berbantuan Sigil Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Siswa Pada Materi Kesetimbangan Benda Tegar

    Abstrak. Proses penyampaian materi pelajaran di sekolah pada umumnya dibantu dengan modul cetak.  Namun, dengan kemajuan teknologi saat ini modul cetak tersebut sekarang dapat diubah menjadi format modul elektronik atau e-modul. Salah satu jenis e-modul yang dapat digunakan guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran adalah Sigil. Kelebihan modul berbantuan sigil adalah mudah diakses dimanapun, penyampaian materi tidak hanya dalam bentuk teks namun sudah terintegrasi dengan video, audio, gambar dan animasi yang membantu siswa memahami konsep pelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan respon siswa setelah menggunakan e-modul sigil. Hasil peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa sebesar 0,62 dalam kategori sedang. Untuk setiap indikator dalam pemahaman konsep yaitu : indikator menjelaskan rata-rata skor siswa 80 dalam kategori tinggi, mencontohkan rata-rata skor siswa 70 dalam kategori sedang, membandingkan rata-rata skor siswa 70 dalam kategori sedang, mengidentifikasi  rata-rata skor siswa 60 dalam kategori sedang, memprediksi rata-rata skor siswa 50 dalam kategori rendah dan menganalisis rata-rata skor siswa 55 dalam kategori rendah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan e-modul sigil dapat menjadi alternatif melatih pemahaman konsep siswa karena sebagian besar indikator pemahaman konsep meningkat dengan baik. Untuk respon siswa terhadap penggunaan e-modul sigil diperoleh hasil sebesar 73,94% siswa senang menggunakan e-modul sigil selama proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci: E-Modul, Sigil, pemahaman konsep, angket.Abstract. The process of delivering subject matter in schools is generally assisted by printed modules. However, with current technological advancements, these print modules can now be converted into electronic modules or e-modules. One type of e-module that can be used by teachers and students in the learning process is Sigil. The advantages of sigil-assisted modules are that they are easily accessible anywhere, the delivery of material is not only in text form but has been integrated with video, audio, images and animations which help students understand the concept of the lesson. The purpose of this study was to see an increase in students' understanding of concepts and responses after using the sigil e-module. The result of increasing students' understanding of concepts is 0.62 in the medium category. For each indicator in understanding the concept, namely: the indicator explains the average student score of 80 in the high category, exemplifies the average student score of 70 in the medium category, compares the average student score of 70 in the medium category, identifies the average student score of 60 in medium category, predicting the average score of 50 students in the low category and analyzing the average score of 55 students in the low category. It can be concluded that the use of the sigil e-module can be an alternative to training students' conceptual understanding because most of the indicators of conceptual understanding improve well. It summarizes the major contributions of a family of theorists: Piaget, Dewey, and Vygotsky and applies their theories to the development of PSC. The study also includes a description of several features of a progressive classroom for kindergarten and grade one. The content of the study serves as a basis for the presentation of a progressive approach to education to prospective parents. Possible questions from prospective parents are raised and addressed at the conclusion of the study

    A comparison of social media marketing between B2B, B2C and mixed business models

    This paper explores the implicit assumption in the growing body of literature that social media usage is fundamentally different in business-to-business (B2B) companies than in the extant business-to-consumer (B2C) literature. Sashi’s (2012) customer engagement cycle is utilized to compare B2B, B2C, Mixed B2B/B2C and B2B2C business model organizational practices in relation to social media usage, importance, and its perceived effectiveness as a communication channel. Utilizing 449 responses to an exploratory panel based survey instrument, we clearly identify differences in social media marketing usage and its perceived importance as a communications channel. In particular we identify distinct differences in the relationship between social media importance and the perceived effectiveness of social media marketing across business models. Our results indicate that B2B social media usage is distinct from B2C, Mixed and B2B2C business model approaches. Specifically B2B organizational members perceive social media to have a lower overall effectiveness as a channel and identify it as less important for relationship oriented usage than other business models

The sense of the notion «information-communicative competence of future philologists» is cleared up. Major characteristics of linguistic educational process are clarified. Peculiarities of future philologists’ information-communicative competence formation in the linguistic educational process of higher pedagogical educational establishment are defined.

    3D Reconstruction and Digital Visualization of the South of the Royal Palace in Great Preslav

    The report presents the film 10th century. The South of the Royal Palace in Great Preslav. It consists of two parts – 10th century. The Royal Palace in Great Prelsav. The Square with the Pinnacle and The Ruler’s Lodgings. 3D and virtual reconstructions of an architectural ensemble – part of the Preslav Royal Court unearthed during archaeological researches are used in the film. 3D documentaries have already gained popularity around the world and are well received by both scholars and the public at large. One of the distinguished tourist destinations in Bulgaria is Great Preslav – capital of the mediaeval Bulgarian state and a significant cultural center of the European Southeast in 9th–10th centuries, too. The first part of the film is created with the financial support of America for Bulgaria Foundation and the second – with the funding of Bulgarian National Science Fund at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science. A team of almost 20 members worked on the film, including computer specialists, professional actors, and translators in the four main European languages – English, German, French and Russian, Trima Sound Recording Studio. In the first part of the 3D film are shown a segment of the Royal Palace, the square with the water pinnacle and the adjacent buildings – an important structural element of the town-planning of the Preslav Court center in the 10th century. In the second part the accent is the southern part of the Royal Palace in Great Preslav, where the personal residence of the Preslav ruler’s dynasty is situated. The work on the virtual reconstruction was done by Virtual Archaeology club at the Mathematical School, Shumen. Due to the efforts of its members it is now clear how the square in front of the southern gate looked like

    A Critical Analysis of the Employees Separation Management Procedures with Regard to Organizational Stability in Kenya

    Proper management of employee separation is crucial in organizational success and stability. It involves inducing employees to take business risks and training them to deal with different times of austerity. This is so as to avoid lawsuits by the affected employees. Employees may be laid off in order to cut costs. This can be done through layoffs, retrenchments, early retirements and other forms of separation. The effects of these separations can trigger reduced stock prices and other negative consequences. To avoid these, separations must be well managed and if possible avoided altogether. This can be done by reducing dissatisfaction and making sure there is good match between employees and the organization for example. If there must be separation, the benefits must be carefully examined to make sure that both the organization and the employees create a win - win situation.
