    Comprensi贸n de conceptos sobre el marco para la alfabetizaci贸n informacional en la educaci贸n superior

    En este trabajo se realiza un diagn贸stico a estudiantes de la carrera Ciencia de la Informaci贸n- Bibliotecolog铆a, sobre su nivel de comprensi贸n existente en las pr谩cticas de investigaci贸n, que llevan a cabo dentro de su proceso de formaci贸n profesional. Para tal fin se acude al Marco para la Alfabetizaci贸n Informacional en la Educaci贸n Superior, publicado por la Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), en el a帽o 2016. Para realizar el diagn贸stico inicial se implementa un cuestionario que busca estimular la participaci贸n de los estudiantes al enfrentarse con doce preguntas, en las que se indaga sobre su concepci贸n personal a cerca de cada uno de los puntos del marco. Luego, se hace una intervenci贸n de tres sesiones, con el fin de aclarar aspectos claves del marco, tales como; pr谩cticas de conocimiento y planes para su comprensi贸n y puesta en pr谩ctica. Con el fin de complementar los conceptos, se realizan seis videos en los cuales colaboran a trav茅s de entrevistas; profesores del departamento de Ciencia de la Informaci贸n y Bibliotec贸logos, que trabajan en el 谩rea de capacitaci贸n y formaci贸n de usuarios de la Biblioteca Alfonso Borrero Cabal S.J, a los cuales los alumnos podr谩n acceder a trav茅s de la plataforma YouTube, favoreciendo el acceso en tiempo y espacio diferente a la clase. Finalmente, se implementa nuevamente el cuestionario con el fin de establecer si se evidencia una mejora sobre la comprensi贸n de los estudiantes a cerca de la alfabetizaci贸n informacional en sus pr谩cticas de investigaci贸n.In this work, a diagnosis is made to students of the Information Science-Bibliotecology career, about their level of understanding in the research practices that they carry out within their professional training process. To this end, the Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education, published by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), is published in 2016. To carry out the initial diagnosis, a questionnaire is implemented that seeks to stimulate the participation of students when faced with twelve questions, in which they inquire about their personal conception about each of the points in the framework. Then, a three-session intervention is made, in order to clarify key aspects of the framework, such as; Knowledge practices and plans for their understanding and implementation. In order to complement the concepts, six videos are made in which they collaborate through interviews; Professors from the Department of Information Science and Librarians, who work in the area of training and training of users of the Library Alfonso Borrero Cabal SJ, to which students can access through the YouTube platform, favoring access on time and Space different from the class.     Maestr铆a en Educaci贸nIn order to analyze the social and economic realities that face ninth grade students of Jesus Maestro School in Soledad, Atlantico, we used an interpretative and descriptive approach based on Francisco Blanco N谩jera麓s pedagogical principles, Adela Cortina麓s ethics and pedagogy and humanization promulgated by Pablo Romero Iba帽ez. By using data collection techniques such as student, teacher, and parent-specific questionnaire surveys we evaluated the influence of the sociocultural factors on students' academic performance. The data are analyzed through graph charts, tables and recordings on the focus group. These techniques resulted in unexpected results, some of the main moral and values have been already adopted by the survey participants. The results also showed the need to design a proposal based on resilience quality that promotes respect and enables dialogue and freedom values in minds and hearts of young people.Con el fin de analizar las realidades sociales de los estudiantes de noveno grado del Colegio Jes煤s Maestro en Soledad, Atl谩ntico, se utiliz贸 un paradigma interpretativo y un enfoque descriptivo basado en los principios pedag贸gicos Francisco Blanco N谩jera, la 茅tica, la pedagog铆a y la humanizaci贸n de Adela Cortina promulgado por Pablo Ib谩帽ez Romero. Mediante el uso de t茅cnicas de recolecci贸n de datos se utilizan t茅cnicas de recolecci贸n de datos como los cuestionarios de encuestas aplicados a estudiantes, docentes y padres de familia y los grupos focales aplicados a estudiantes con el fin de describir la influencia que ejerce el contexto sociocultural en la formaci贸n de estudiantes. Los datos se analizan a trav茅s de gr谩ficas, tablas y grabaciones del grupo focal. Estas t茅cnicas dieron lugar a resultados inesperados, como el deseo de formar en valores y la necesidad de dise帽ar una propuesta enmarcada en la resiliencia que siga cultivando el respeto y permita aflorar el di谩logo y la libertad en las mentes y corazones de los j贸venes

    Prevention and Mitigation of Rural Higher Education Dropout in Colombia: A Dynamic Performance Management Approach. [version 2; peer review: 2 approved]

    Background: Dropout in higher education is a socio-educational phenomenon that has the scope to limit the benefits of education as well as to widen social disparities. For this reason, governments have implemented various public policies for its prevention and mitigation. However, in rural populations, such policies have proven to be ineffective. The aim of this paper is to simulate public policy scenarios for the treatment of school dropout in rural higher education in Colombia from a Dynamic Performance Management approach. Methodology: To achieve the aim, a parameterised simulation model was designed with data from Colombian state entities in rural higher education. Five simulations were carried out. The analysis of the results was carried out using descriptive statistics and comparison of means using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank statistic. Results: The adoption of such an approach based on simulations suggests that policies to expand the coverage of educational credits and financial support, as well as the addition of a family income subsidy, allow for a reduction in the number of dropouts. Conclusions: A dynamic, data-driven approach can be effective in preventing and mitigating dropout in these areas. It also highlights the importance of identifying the key factors contributing to dropout. The results also suggest that government policies can have a significant impact on school retention in rural areas

    Deserci贸n en la Educaci贸n Superior Rural: An谩lisis de Causas desde el Pensamiento Sist茅mico

    Dropout limits the personal and social benefits of education. In this sense, states and educational institutions seek to prevent and mitigate this phenomenon through the development of public and institutional policies, however, the complexity of the phenomenon is such that these policies are insufficient and are not fully articulated with the realities of students, hence the persistence of high dropout rates. Thus, the objective of this article was to establish the causes of student dropout in rural higher education using a conceptual model based on systems thinking from the narratives of a group of Colombian students. A qualitative study was carried out with the participation of 19 students. The analysis was carried out using open coding to identify the variables that had an impact on this educational phenomenon and was completed with a model based on a causal loop diagram. The results showed that work and family obligations, the student's financial condition and the role of teachers are the most recurrent variables in the participants. Finally, based on the variables found and the model, actions are proposed that should be incorporated into the framework of public and institutional policies to prevent and mitigate the dropout phenomenon.La deserci贸n limita los beneficios personales y sociales de la educaci贸n. En este sentido, los estados e instituciones educativas buscan prevenir y mitigar este fen贸meno mediante el desarrollo de pol铆ticas p煤blicas e institucionales, sin embargo, la complejidad del fen贸meno es tal, que estas pol铆ticas son insuficientes y no se encuentran del todo articuladas con las realidades de los estudiantes, de ah铆 que persistan las elevadas tasas de deserci贸n. As铆, el objetivo del presente art铆culo fue establecer las causas de la deserci贸n estudiantil en la educaci贸n superior rural a partir de un modelo conceptual basado en pensamiento sist茅mico a partir de las narrativas de un grupo de estudiantes colombianos. Para su cumplimiento se realiz贸 un estudio cualitativo, en el que participaron 19 estudiantes. El an谩lisis se realiz贸 mediante codificaci贸n abierta para la identificaci贸n de variables que incid铆an en este fen贸meno educativo, y se finaliz贸 con un modelo basado en diagrama de bucles causales. Los resultados evidenciaron que las obligaciones laborales y familiares, la condici贸n financiera del estudiante y el rol de los docentes son las variables m谩s recurrentes en los participantes. Finalmente, a partir de las variables encontradas y el modelo, se proponen acciones que deben ser incorporadas en el marco de las pol铆ticas p煤blicas e institucionales para prevenir y mitigar el fen贸meno de la deserci贸n

    Untargeted metabolomic and lipidomic analyses reveal lipid dysregulation in the plasma of acute leukemia patients

    Acute leukemias (AL) are aggressive neoplasms with high mortality rates. Metabolomics and oxidative status have emerged as important tools to identify new biomarkers with clinical utility. To identify the metabolic differences between healthy individuals (HI) and patients with AL, a multiplatform untargeted metabolomic and lipidomic approach was conducted using liquid and gas chromatography coupled with quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF-MS or GC-QTOF-MS). Additionally, the total antioxidant capacity (TAC) was measured. A total of 20 peripheral blood plasma samples were obtained from patients with AL and 18 samples from HI. Our analysis revealed 135 differentially altered metabolites in the patients belonging to 12 chemical classes; likewise, the metabolic pathways of glycerolipids and sphingolipids were the most affected in the patients. A decrease in the TAC of the patients with respect to the HI was evident. This study conducted with a cohort of Colombian patients is consistent with observations from other research studies that suggest dysregulation of lipid compounds. Furthermore, metabolic differences between patients and HI appear to be independent of lifestyle, race, or geographic location, providing valuable information for future advancements in understanding the disease and developing more global therapies

    Propuesta de gesti贸n con la comunidad para contribuir a la transformaci贸n de h谩bitos y pr谩cticas alimenticias en padres y estudiantes de tres instituciones educativas p煤blicas de la provincia comunera de Santander (Colombia)

    La gesti贸n de la Comunidad desde el 谩mbito educativo, se centra en buscar que todos los estudiantes reciban una atenci贸n apropiada y pertinente que responda a sus expectativas, atendiendo a grupos de poblaciones con necesidades especiales; por tanto, esta investigaci贸n se centr贸 en el desarrollo de un programa de Educaci贸n Alimentaria, para padres y estudiantes de b谩sica primaria de colegios urbanos y rurales, teniendo en cuenta que, en la actualidad la poblaci贸n infantil en edad escolar presenta con mayor regularidad problemas nutricionales. Se aplic贸 el m茅todo de Investigaci贸n - Acci贸n, el cual incluy贸 una intervenci贸n pedag贸gica; teniendo como resultados m谩s sobresalientes que, antes de la intervenci贸n el 74% de los estudiantes se encontraban con bajo peso y el 1% con sobrepeso, siendo los ni帽os los m谩s afectados con un 70% en comparaci贸n con el 68% de las ni帽as participantes de la muestra; en cuanto a los h谩bitos alimenticios, se encontr贸 que estos prefieren las comidas r谩pidas, productos empaquetados, golosinas y bebidas azucaradas como gaseosas y jugos artificiales, antes que alimentos saludables como frutas y l谩cteos. Una vez finalizada la intervenci贸n, el resultado del nuevo tamizaje mostr贸 un cambio significativo, pues solo el 4% de estudiantes mostr贸 bajo peso, es decir, una reducci贸n del 70%; as铆 mismo, se empez贸 a evidenciar cambios en los h谩bitos alimenticios con loncheras m谩s saludables, mejor manipulaci贸n de alimentos y la creaci贸n de huertos escolares y familiares.Universidad Libre Seccional Socorro - Facultad de ciencias de la educaci贸nThe management of the Community from the educational field, focuses on seeking that all students receive appropriate and relevant care that meets their expectations, serving groups of populations with special needs; therefore, this investigation he focused on the development of a Food Education program, for parents and elementary school students in urban and rural schools, taking into account that, at present, the school-age child population presents nutritional problems more regularly. The Research - Action method was applied, which included a pedagogical intervention; having as more outstanding results that, before the intervention, 74% of the students were underweight and 1% were overweight, with boys being the most affected with 70% compared to 68% of the girls participating in the sample; In terms of eating habits, it was found that they prefer fast foods, packaged products, sweets and sugary drinks such as soda and artificial juices, rather than healthy foods such as fruits and dairy. Once the intervention was over, the result of the new screening showed a significant change, since only 4% of students showed low weight, that is, a reduction of 70%; Likewise, changes in eating habits began to show with healthier lunch boxes, better food handling and the creation of school and family gardens

    Conocimientos del dengue en el barrio Jos脙漏 Antonio Gal脙隆n de San Gil

    Introducci脙鲁n: El dengue es una enfermedad viral aguda, endemo-epid脙漏mica, transmitida por la picadura de la hembra del mosquito del g脙漏nero Aedes, un arbovirus de la familia Flaviviridae, principalmente el Aegypti. Este virus se introduce en el organismo, se multiplica en los ganglios linf脙隆ticos y luego se dispersa a todos los tejidos y 脙鲁rganos a trav脙漏s del sistema linf脙隆tico y la sangre. Teniendo en cuenta que San Gil presenta incidencia de esta enfermedad y uno de los barrios con mayor n脙潞mero de casos es Jos脙漏 Antonio Gal脙隆n, se realiza el presente estudio para determinar los conocimientos que tiene la poblaci脙鲁n sobre esta patolog脙颅a.Metodolog脙颅a: Estudio descriptivo, con la participaci脙鲁n de 44 personas del barrio Jos脙漏 Antonio Gal脙隆n, los estudiantes de enfermer脙颅a de quinto semestre de Unisangil 2015-2, elaboraron la encuesta de conocimientos sobre el dengue y posterior a ello se brind脙鲁 una jornada educativa.Resultados: Las personas participantes del barrio Jos脙漏 Antonio Gal脙隆n tienen conocimientos sobre el agente causal del dengue en un 68,18% y 90,9%conocen los signos y s脙颅ntomas del dengue, el 100% sabe que el dengue se transmite por un mosquito, la comunidad report脙鲁 9 casos de dengue, y refieren que 70%, al presentarse la enfermedad, buscan apoyo en el m脙漏dico.Conclusi脙鲁n: La poblaci脙鲁n tiene conocimientos aceptables del dengue, pero a脙潞n se siguen presentando casos con incidencia alta
