    Issues of transport sector improvement in the context of connected vehicles development

    The article examines topical issues of improving the transportation industry in the context of the active development and implementation of connected vehicles (CVs). The relevance of the topic is driven by the rapid growth in the number of CVs, their increasing impact on the transportation system, and the need for a comprehensive optimization of the industry to fully realize the potential of new technologies. The main objective of the work is to identify key ways and specific measures to improve the transportation industry that will allow maximizing the benefits of CVs. To achieve this goal, a systems approach is used, which involves a comprehensive consideration of the complex interrelationships between vehicles, infrastructure, and transportation services. The implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) plays a crucial role in optimizing the interaction of these components. The article identifies the main opportunities and challenges associated with the development of CVs. New opportunities include improving road safety, reducing emissions, optimizing logistics and transportation, and enhancing mobility. At the same time, new challenges are emerging, including the need to ensure cybersecurity of CVs, standardization of heterogeneous systems and technologies, and their seamless interaction. The impact of CVs on key aspects of the transportation industry – safety, environment, economy, and social sphere – is analyzed in detail. Specific ways to improve safety are shown through accident prevention systems and driver monitoring systems. The potential of CVs to reduce emissions through traffic optimization and development of alternative modes of transportation is considered. Ways to increase efficiency through logistics optimization, vehicle maintenance, and driver routing are identified. Social effects in the form of increased mobility and new services for passengers are highlighted. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive systems consideration of a wide range of problems and ways to improve the transportation industry, taking into account the rapid development of CVs. The practical significance is the specific recommendations on applying a systems approach and implementing ITS to achieve maximum effect. Further research directions include a detailed elaboration of the proposed specific measures to maximize the benefits and minimize the risks associated with the proliferation of CVs. In particular, it is recommended to further optimize logistics processes, vehicle fleets and driver activities, accelerate the development of alternative modes of transportation and services to improve passenger comfort and safety, and establish close cooperation among all stakeholders

    Strategic prospects use GIS technologies are presented in report for making integrated geodatabase of scientific data, designed on base of the lifelengths operating in the field of automations of the information handling in National antarctic scientific centre MES of Ukraine (NASC). It is shown, that given decision effectively, in good time, corresponds to the world standard of the collection, processing and presentation of scientific data.У доповіді подано стратегічні перспективи використання ГІС технології для створення інтегрованої геобази наукових даних, яка проектується на основі багаторічних напрацювань в галузі автоматизації обробки інформації в Національному антарктичному науковому центрі МОН України (НАНЦ).     Therapeutic eyelids hygiene in the algorithms of prevention and treatment of ocular surface diseases

    When acute inflammation in anterior eye segment of a forward piece of an eye was stopped, ophthalmologists face a problem of absence of acute inflammation signs and at the same time complaints to the remain discomfort feelings. It causes dissatisfaction from the treatment. The complaints are typically caused by disturbance of tears productions. No accidental that the new group of diseases was allocated — the diseases of the ocular surface. Ocular surface is a difficult biologic system, including epithelium of the conjunctiva, cornea and limb, as well as the area costal margin eyelid and meibomian gland ducts. Pathological processes in conjunctiva, cornea and eyelids are linked with tears production. Ophthalmologists prescribes tears substitutions, providing short-term relief to patients. However, in respect that the lipid component of the tear film plays the key role in the preservation of its stability, eyelids hygiene is the basis for the treatment of dry eye associated with ocular surface diseases. Eyelids hygiene provides normal functioning of glands, restores the metabolic processes in skin and ensures the formation of a complete tear film. Protection of eyelids, especially the marginal edge from aggressive environmental agents, infections and parasites and is the basis for the prevention and treatment of blepharitis and dry eye syndrome. The most common clinical situations and algorithms of their treatment and prevention of dysfunction of the meibomian glands; demodectic blepharitis; seborrheic blepharitis; staphylococcal blepharitis; allergic blepharitis; barley and chalazion are discussed in the article. The prevention keratoconjunctival xerosis (before and postoperative period, caused by contact lenses, computer vision syndrome, remission after acute conjunctiva and cornea inflammation) is also presented.     A new method of cyst sclerosis with the use of high-peak power laser radiation (HPLR) was developed for patients with fibrocystic breast disease. The comparative analysis of effectiveness of laser-induced sclerotherapy of cystic breasts and traditional methods of sclerosis (Ethanol, Sulfakrilat) has shown that the cyst recurrence rate depends on the cystic cavity volume and significantly decreases (2,5 %) with the use of HPLR in fibrocystic breast disease treatment.У больных с фиброзно-кистозной болезнью молочных желез разработан способ склерозирования кист с использованием высокоинтенсивного лазерного излучения (ВИЛИ). Проведенный сравнительный клинико-ультрасонографический анализ эффективности лазериндуцированной склеротерапии кист молочной железы и традиционных методов склерозирования (этанол, «Сульфакрилат») выявил, что частота рецидива кисты зависит от объема кистозной полости и значительно снижается (до 2,5 %) при использовании ВИЛИ в лечении фиброзно-кистозной болезни молочных желез

    There are still no guidlines on managment of Duchenne/Becker myodystrophy in domestic medical practice. It leads to decrease of quality of life and, what is more important, lifespan of patients. In this article we have described our Western coleagues lаst decade experience, including consensus guidelines published in 2010 on mаnаgment of Duchenne myodystrophy, supplemented with our practicle experience. We have described standardized motor development scale and muscle tone score for patients with MDD/MDB, and algorithm of multidiscipline care with focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of main disease and steroid therapy complications: cardiovascular, orthopedics, respirator etc. These recommendations not only improve quality of live and extend lifespan of MDD/MDB patients, but allow to take part in multicentre trials on searching of pathognomonic and symptomatic treatment.В отечественной медицинской практике отсутствует четкая стандартизация подходов к курации больных миодистрофией Дюшенна/Беккера (МДД/МДБ). Это зачастую приводит к снижению качества жизни пациентов и, что наиболее важно, уменьшению ее продолжительности. В статье отражен накопленный за последнее десятилетие опыт западных коллег, в том числе объединенный в соглашении консенсуса 2010 г. по курации пациентов с МДД, дополненный наблюдениями из собственной клинической практики. Описаны стандартные шкалы оценки степени ограничения моторных навыков и мышечной слабости у пациентов с МДД/МДБ, а также представлен алгоритм мультидисциплинарного подхода с фокусом внимания на профилактике, своевременной диагностике и лечении основных осложнений заболевания и терапии кортикостероидами: кардиоваскулярных, ортопедических, респираторных и т.д. Применение представленных рекомендаций позволяет не только значительно улучшить качество и продолжительность жизни пациентов с МДД/МДБ, но и участвовать в мультицентровых исследованиях с целью поиска патогномоничного и симптоматического лечения

    Clinical and morphological characteristics of uveal melanoma

    Purpose: То examine clinical and morphological features of uveal melanomas. Design: Noncomparative case series. Participants and methods: 81 patients with the diagnose of uveal melanoma [males — 53,1%, females — 46,9%; medium age — 59,57±12,32 years; intraocular localization of tumors: iris — 3(3,7%), ciliary body — 11(13,58%), choroid — 67(82,72%)]; histological assessment of specimens of uveal melanomas ( eosin — hematoxylin staining). Results: The majority of the patients were among the elder group (>61 years) with T3 and III stages of the disease (p61 г.). Наиболее представительной оказались ТЗ и III стадии неопластического процесса (р<0,05). По данным изучения патоморфологии исследуемые увеальные меланомы были представлены в основном эпителиоидноклеточными и смешанноклеточными опухолями (р<0,05), чаще встречались интенсивно пигментированные внутриглазные новообразования (р<0,05). Веретеноклеточные и эпителиоидноклеточные опухоли отличались равномерным распределением пигмента на поверхности меланомы, тогда как смешанноклеточные новообразования характеризовались неравномерностью пигментации (р<0,05). Выводы: полученные клинико- морфологические параллели необходимо учитывать при прогнозировании течения опухолевого процесса при увеальной меланоме

    Performance of the CMS Cathode Strip Chambers with Cosmic Rays

    The Cathode Strip Chambers (CSCs) constitute the primary muon tracking device in the CMS endcaps. Their performance has been evaluated using data taken during a cosmic ray run in fall 2008. Measured noise levels are low, with the number of noisy channels well below 1%. Coordinate resolution was measured for all types of chambers, and fall in the range 47 microns to 243 microns. The efficiencies for local charged track triggers, for hit and for segments reconstruction were measured, and are above 99%. The timing resolution per layer is approximately 5 ns
