    Pembangunan Jalan Lingkar Tengah (Middle Ring Road) Makassar rencananya akan dilaksanakan secara bertahap, dimana tahap pertama direncanakan sepanjang 3,050 km mulai dari Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan melintasi Jl. Dr. Laimena dan berakhir di Jl. Borong Raya dengan lebar total 42 m termasuk prasarana saluran drainase. Dalam pembangunan jalan harus dibarengi dengan sistem saluran drainase yang baik dimana sistem drainase tersebut mampu melayani air limpasan hujan yang terjadi di permukaan jalan dan kawasan – kawasan sekitar jalan yang akan membebani saluran – saluran drainase. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui  debit limpasan yang terjadi di kawasan Pembangunan Jl. Lingkar Tengah (Middle Ring Road) Makassar dan sekitarnya yang akan membebani saluran drainase jalan dan untuk  merencanakan dimensi saluran drainase tertutup (underground drainage) yang mampu mengalirkan debit aliran air maksimum. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah perencanaan sistem underground drainage sebagai alternatif pemecahan masalah banjir dan genangan pada ruas Jl. Lingkar Tengah (Middle Ring Road) Makassar

    : The aim of this study was to describe the thought processes of students in constructing the concept of function composition. The subjects were students of the 2nd half of the course Basic Mathematics II. There are 9 students who were asked to complete the one-time function composition written and simultaneously saying out loud what they think. Furthermore, six students have been selected as subjects. Selection of subject considers their communication skills. From this research, it is found three types of the description of thought processes of students, namely: construction complete thinking structure type, construction complete pseudo-thinking structure type, and incomplete structure type thinking

    This study aims to (1) determine the level of academic procrastination in students at SMA Negeri 5 Makassar (2) to determine the learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri 5 Makassar (3) to determine the effect of academic procrastination on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. This type of research uses the expost facto method where academic procrastination is the independent variable and learning outcomes are the dependent variable. The total population in this study was 936 students and the sample taken was 91 students. The research instrument used in this research is a questionnaire (questionnaire) and documentation. The processing and analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of processing academic procrastination variables, it can be concluded that academic procrastination has a significant effect on student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti lessons. For students at SMA Negeri 5 Makassar in order to improve learning outcomes by reducing the habit of academic procrastination (the habit of procrastinating), and increasing achievement motivation so that they dare to face tasks with full responsibility

    Abstract The biological and functional significance of selected CASP14 targets are described by the authors of the structures. The authors highlight the most relevant features of the target proteins and discuss how well these features were reproduced in the respective submitted predictions. The overall ability to predict three-dimensional structures of proteins has improved remarkably in CASP14, and many difficult targets were modelled with impressive accuracy. For the first time in the history of CASP, the experimentalists not only highlighted that computational models can accurately reproduce the most critical structural features observed in their targets, but also envisaged that models could serve as a guidance for further studies of biologically-relevant properties of proteins.     Performance analysis of hybrid photovoltaic/diesel energy system under Malaysian conditions

    Standalone diesel generating system utilized in remote areas has long been practiced in Malaysia. Due to highly fluctuating diesel price, such a system is seemed to be uneconomical, especially in the long run if the supply of electricity for rural areas solely depends on such diesel generating system. This paper would analyze the potential use of hybrid photovoltaic (PV)/diesel energy system in remote locations. National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) HOMER software was used to perform the techno-economic feasibility of hybrid PV/diesel energy system. The investigation demonstrated the impact of PV penetration and battery storage on energy production, cost of energy and number of operational hours of diesel generators for the given hybrid configurations. Emphasis has also been placed on percentage fuel savings and reduction in carbon emissions of different hybrid systems. At the end of this paper, suitability of utilizing hybrid PV/diesel energy system over standalone diesel system would be discussed mainly based on different solar irradiances and diesel prices

    A new halophytic species, Scorzonera tuzgoluensis A. Duran, B. Doğan & S. Makbul sp. nov. (Asteraceae), is described and illustrated from Tuz Lake, central Anatolia, Turkey. The new species grows in salt marshes, is endemic (confined to central Anatolia) and closely related to Scorzonera parviflora Jacq. and S. elata Boiss. The diagnostic morphological characters of these similar taxa are discussed. The ecology, biogeography and conservation status of the new species are also presented. The geographic distribution of the new species and related species is mapped. © 2011 The Authors

    Anatomical changes in the root, stem, and leaf of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr. cv. Nazli{dotless}can) plants under drought stress were studied by light microscope and their significance was evaluated by numerical analysis. Some anatomical features related to parenchymatous cells, diameter of tracheas belonging to the root, stem, and leaf; stomata index; and size and average number of stomata and epidermal cells were found to be important characters varying in soybean plants under stress. These characters were also statistically significant. Leaf water potential (? leaf), root:shoot ratio, total chlorophyll content, and stomatal conductance were measured. ? leaf, total chlorophyll content, and stomatal conductance were lower while root: shoot ratio was higher in stressed plants compared to the unstressed ones. It has been concluded that some anatomical and physiological changes occurred in soybean under drought stress. © TÜBITAK
