Audiovisual Translation and Subtitling. Analyzing Humor in the Spanish subtitles of the TV Series ‘The Office’.
One of the effects of globalization is the ease with which any TV series or movie,
regardless of its origin, can reach an almost infinite audience. This factor, coupled with the
increasing demand for visual entertainment, makes audiovisual translation and subtitling
the order of the day. Despite this, not everything is so simple, as cultural barriers are still
present. This is why humor, despite being a universal language, has difficulties when it
comes to translation. In this project, taking the American sitcom “The Office” as a
reference, different aspects of humor translation will be analyzed, taking into account
cultural references.

Treatment with tocilizumab or corticosteroids for COVID-19 patients with hyperinflammatory state: a multicentre cohort study (SAM-COVID-19)
Objectives: The objective of this study was to estimate the association between tocilizumab or corticosteroids and the risk of intubation or death in patients with coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) with a hyperinflammatory state according to clinical and laboratory parameters.
Methods: A cohort study was performed in 60 Spanish hospitals including 778 patients with COVID-19 and clinical and laboratory data indicative of a hyperinflammatory state. Treatment was mainly with tocilizumab, an intermediate-high dose of corticosteroids (IHDC), a pulse dose of corticosteroids (PDC), combination therapy, or no treatment. Primary outcome was intubation or death; follow-up was 21 days. Propensity score-adjusted estimations using Cox regression (logistic regression if needed) were calculated. Propensity scores were used as confounders, matching variables and for the inverse probability of treatment weights (IPTWs).
Results: In all, 88, 117, 78 and 151 patients treated with tocilizumab, IHDC, PDC, and combination therapy, respectively, were compared with 344 untreated patients. The primary endpoint occurred in 10 (11.4%), 27 (23.1%), 12 (15.4%), 40 (25.6%) and 69 (21.1%), respectively. The IPTW-based hazard ratios (odds ratio for combination therapy) for the primary endpoint were 0.32 (95%CI 0.22-0.47; p < 0.001) for tocilizumab, 0.82 (0.71-1.30; p 0.82) for IHDC, 0.61 (0.43-0.86; p 0.006) for PDC, and 1.17 (0.86-1.58; p 0.30) for combination therapy. Other applications of the propensity score provided similar results, but were not significant for PDC. Tocilizumab was also associated with lower hazard of death alone in IPTW analysis (0.07; 0.02-0.17; p < 0.001).
Conclusions: Tocilizumab might be useful in COVID-19 patients with a hyperinflammatory state and should be prioritized for randomized trials in this situatio

Anthropometry in antipsychotic-naïve first-episode psychosis patients: An exploratory approach to the role of environmental early life events in two independent samples.
BACKGROUND: Patients with schizophrenia exhibit a reduced life expectancy mainly due to medical-related pathologies which might have been initiated due to stressful events during fetal development. Indeed, intra-uterus growth patterns predict anthropometric measures in adulthood, describing risk factors for schizophrenia and metabolic disorders. We aim to evaluate anthropometric values in two cohorts of antipsychotic-naïve first-episode episode psychosis (FEP) and correlated them with surrogate markers of the fetal environment such as birth weight (BW) and season of birth. METHODS: BW, season of birth, and anthropometric values from 2 cohorts of FEP patients (Barcelona and Santander) were evaluated. In cohort B, 91 patients, and 110 controls while in cohort S, 644 and 235 were included respectively. RESULTS: Patients were shorter, slimmer, and with lower BMI compared with controls. In both cohorts, patients, and female patients born in winter displayed the shortest height. Regarding BW, height was significantly associated with the interaction of diagnosis and BW in the whole sample and the male subsample. CONCLUSIONS: Our results confirm reduced anthropometric features in FEP at onset while suggesting the influence of winter birth and BW, highlighting the role of early life events in the later outcome of FEP with sex differences.Funding for this study was provided by grant RO1 DK069265 - National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (Dr. Kirkpatrick), PI14/00753 and PI20/00661 (Dr. Garcia-Rizo) PI08/0208; PI11/00325 and PI14/00612 (Dr.Bernardo), funded by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) and co-financed by the European Union, Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de salud Mental, CIBERSAM, ERCA Program / Generalitat de Catalunya And Secretaria d’Universitats i Recerca del Departament d’Economia I Coneixement (2017SGR1355). Early psychological impact of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and lockdown in a large Spanish sample
Background: Epidemic outbreaks have significant impact on psychological well-being, increasing psychiatric morbidity among the population. We aimed to describe the early psychological impact of COVID-19 and its contributing factors in a large Spanish sample, globally and according to mental status (never mental disorder NMD, past mental disorder PMD, current mental disorder CMD). Methods: An online questionnaire was conducted between 19 and 26 March, five days after the official declaration of alarm and the lockdown order. Data included sociodemographic and clinical information and the DASS-21 and IES questionnaires. We analysed 21207 responses using the appropriate descriptive and univariate tests as well as binary logistic regression to identify psychological risk and protective factors. Results: We found a statistically significant gradient in the psychological impact experienced in five domains according to mental status, with the NMD group being the least affected and the CMD group being the most affected. In the three groups, the depressive response was the most prevalent (NMD=40.9%, PMD=51.9%, CMD=74.4%, F=1011.459, P<0.001). Risk factors were female sex and classification as a case in any psychological domain. Protective factors were younger age and ability to enjoy free time. Variables related to COVID-19 had almost no impact except for having COVID-19 symptoms, which was a risk factor for anxiety in all three groups. Conclusions: Our results can help develop coping strategies addressing modifiable risk and protective factors for each mental status for early implementation in future outbreaks

formativo. The aim of the Teaching Innovation Project is to offer a tool for learning law, based on digitalisation through podcasts, which allows students to have access to legal content for their learning process.L'obiettivo del Progetto di Innovazione Didattica è quello di offrire uno strumento per l'apprendimento del diritto, basato sulla digitalizzazione attraverso i podcast, che permetta agli studenti di avere accesso a contenuti giuridici per il loro processo di formazione.O objetivo do Projeto de Inovação Didática é oferecer uma ferramenta de aprendizagem do direito, baseada na digitalização através de podcasts, que permita aos estudantes ter acesso a conteúdos jurídicos para o seu processo de formação.Depto. de Derecho del Trabajo y Seguridad SocialFac. de DerechoFALSEsubmitte
