Desarrollo de la memoria de trabajo en la competencia escrita bilingüe

El presente artículo de revisión realizado a través de la metodología Prisma tuvo como objetivo principal revisar las tendencias investigativas en el campo de la memoria de trabajo y su relación con la competencia escrita bilingüe. Teniendo en cuenta las bases de datos EBSCOhost, ScienceDirect, y algunos criterios de inclusión para la revisión sistemática tales como el contexto universitario, el periodo de publicación de los estudios (2008-2021), y la lengua estudiada (Español e inglés), entre otros, fue posible la identificación, evaluación y análisis de estudios que centraron su atención en la memoria de trabajo y su relación con la competencia escrita bilingüe. De modo general, se puede observar que el 100% de los estudios se encuentran en síntesis cuantitativa, y que la tendencia investigativa en este campo en Latinoamérica es menor que en países europeos, asiáticos y africanos. De igual manera, la mayoría de los estudios concluyen que la memoria de trabajo afecta positivamente la escritura bilingüe y que los docentes deberían incluir propuestas pedagógicas que ayuden a fomentar este tipo de memoria en las aulas de clases para un mayor desarrollo en los procesos bilingües

Symptomatology Heterogeneity. Profiles Of Patients Diagnosed With Alzheimer's Type Dementia In Antioquia (Colombia)

Objetivo: Describir y contrastar la variabilidad sintomatológica de los casos con demencia tipo Alzheimer esporádico (DTA+E) con los datos obtenidos de los casos con demencia tipo Alzheimer familiar precoz causado por la mutación E280A del Neurobanco del Grupo de Neurociencias de Antioquia (GNA). Materiales y Método: Este estudio fue de tipo exploratoriodescriptivo y correlacional, se tomaron 83 casos de donantes con DTA almacenados en el Neurobanco del GNA. Estos casos se dividen en dos grupos, i) un grupo definido genéticamente como portador de la mutación E280A en el gen de la Presenilina1; y ii) otro grupo no portador de la mutación diagnosticado con Demencia Tipo Alzheimer Esporádico (DTA+E); se contrastaron los marcadores y/o características neuropsiquiatricas, neuropsicológicas, neurológicas y neuropatológicas de ambos grupos. Resultados: El síntoma que mostró mayores diferencias entre ambos grupos fue la repetidera (DTAF E280A fue de 1.2% y el grupo de DTA+E fue 18.4%). Otros síntomas como la depresión o el tiempo de aparición de pérdida progresiva de memoria no mostraron grandes diferencias entre grupos (DTAF E2080A=55.9%; DTA+E =53.1%) y (DTAF E2080A=55.9%; DTA+E =53.1%). Los trastornos del lenguaje que se observaron con mayor frecuencia entre los donantes fueron la pérdida del lenguaje, mutismo, anomia y afasia. El signo de mayor frecuencia en ambos grupos fue descontrol de esfínteres. La atrofia se registró con mayor intensidad en los lóbulos temporales de los cerebros de los donantes con DTA +E (83.3%). Los pesos del cerebro y del contenido de la fosa posterior, tienen una relación moderada, directamente proporcional y altamente significativa desde el punto de vista estadístico. Conclusiones: Existen diferencias neuropatológicas entre DTA+E y E280A que pueden estar asociadas a la fisiopatología de la forma hereditaria de E280A. Materials and Method: This study was of exploratory - descriptive and correlacional type, 83 donors' cases were taken with DTA stored in the Neurobank. These cases were divided in two groups, i) a group defined genetically like E280A; and ii) another not carrying group of the mutation (DTA+E); the scoreboards and / or characteristics neuropsychiatric, neuropsychological, neurological and neuropathological of both groups were confirmed. Results: The symptom that showed higher differences between both groups was iteration iteration (DTAF E280A with 1.2% and 18.4% for the DTA+E group). Other symptoms as depression or the time of appearance of progressive loss of memory did not show big differences among groups (DTAF E2080A=55.9%; DTA+E =53.1%) and (DTAF E2080A=55.9%; DTA+E =53.1%). The language disorders that were observed with major frequency among the donors were the loss of the language, mutism, anomia and aphasia. The sign with higher frequency in both groups was lost of sphincter control. The atrophy was with more intensity in the temporary lobes of the brains of the donors with DTA+E (83.3%). The weight of the brain and of the posterior fosse content, they have a moderate, directly proportional and highly significant relation from the statistical point of view. Conclusions: DTA +E has neuropathological differences with DTAF E280A that can be associated with the physiology hereditary from of DTAF E280A. Keywords: Dementia, Alzheime

La prueba: teoría y práctica

El uso de energía en microempresas tradicionales. Eficiencia, innovación y gestión

Cualquiera que sepa que las microempresas en Medellín, actualmente suman cerca de 95.000 -algo así como el 96% del tejido empresarial-, y que generan alrededor del 50% del empleo de la ciudad, le interesará este libro. La razón es simple: en él se ofrecen modos muy concretos, no sólo de conservarlas sino de fortalecerlas. Haga el lector el siguiente ejercicio: cierre los ojos e imagine qué le ocurriría a la ciudad y a miles de sus familias si por algún albur, todas -o la mayoría- de las microempresas desaparecieran de repente. Seguramente lo que vería, no sería agradable, entonces abra los ojos y dispóngase a leer esta obra.El mensaje básico del presente libro es que usar eficientemente la energía, representa para todas las empresas, pero en particular para las micronegocios, beneficios no sólo en productividad y competitividad sino también en seguridad ocupacional y bienestar para sus dueños, sus familias y empleados, además de favorecer el medio ambiente. Alcanzar la eficiencia energética se logra tanto por disponer y adoptar buenas tecnologías energéticas, adecuadas instalaciones y espacios apropiados para su explotación, como gracias a las mejoras en los comportamientos y estilos de vida de los usuarios frente al consumo de las diversas fuentes de energía: hidroeléctrica, gas, carbón, leña, etc. En consecuencia, en esta obra se ofrecen a los microempresarios de estratos populares de la ciudad de Medellín, tanto alternativas tecnológicas y socioeconómicas que les permitan ser más eficientes y productivos, como un modelo de gestión energética que las haga viables y sostenibles en el tiempo.La conclusión del libro es clara: sin microempresas podrá haber crecimiento económico, pero nunca desarrollo humano incluyente y sostenible.  La novedad de la obra radica precisamente en que nunca antes las microempresas en el país habían sido conocidas y evaluadas desde el punto de vista de su eficiencia energética y menos aún, se habían hecho propuestas alcanzables para su mejoramiento y fortalecimiento.No sobra agregar que en su concepción y composición, en el libro participó un amplio grupo de académicos e investigadores de renombradas universidades de la ciudad, lo mismo que expertos y consultores tanto públicos como privados. Pero, sobre todo, este libro no hubiera sido posible sin la presencia constante y activa de los microempresarios que aportaron toda su buena voluntad para llevar a cabo el proyecto de investigación que le dio origen a la obra. The Research Journey as a Challenge Towards New Trends

The academic community of the department of Risaralda, in its permanent interest in evidencing the results of the research processes that are carried out from the Higher Education Institutions and as a product of the VI meeting of researchers of the department of Risaralda held in November 2021 presents its work: “The journey of research as a challenge towards new trends”, which reflects the result of the latest research and advances in different lines of knowledge in Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Technology and Information Sciences, which seek to solve and meet the demands of the different sectors. I Congreso - Convergencias y divergencias. Hacia educaciones y desarrollo otros.

La presente colección, en su primera publicación, recoge la experiencia del I Congreso Internacional de Educación para el Desarrollo en Perspectiva Latinoamericana- EpDl “Convergencias y divergencias. Hacia educaciones y desarrollos otros.” organizado por el Centro de Educación para el Desarrollo-CED de UNIMINUTO, específicamente en relación con las ponencias, libros e iniciativas fotográficas presentadas en las seis líneas temáticas de este evento académico, a saber: (a) experiencias y prácticas pedagógicas; (b) acciones colectivas, movimientos y redes sociales; (c) perspectivas críticas al desarrollo; (d) producción de conocimiento; (e) diferencias, identidades y ciudadanía; (f) cuerpos, emociones y espiritualidades; a partir de éstas propuestas y en el marco de estas líneas, se reflexionó sobre las dinámicas y problemáticas derivadas del desarrollo hegemónico, así como sobre la posibilidad de diálogo entre saberes y conocimientos construidos de forma contextualizada, que permitan agenciar apuestas y proyectos alternativos disidentes en la búsqueda de “desarrollos y educaciones otras” desde América Latina

Reducing the environmental impact of surgery on a global scale: systematic review and co-prioritization with healthcare workers in 132 countries

Abstract Background Healthcare cannot achieve net-zero carbon without addressing operating theatres. The aim of this study was to prioritize feasible interventions to reduce the environmental impact of operating theatres. Methods This study adopted a four-phase Delphi consensus co-prioritization methodology. In phase 1, a systematic review of published interventions and global consultation of perioperative healthcare professionals were used to longlist interventions. In phase 2, iterative thematic analysis consolidated comparable interventions into a shortlist. In phase 3, the shortlist was co-prioritized based on patient and clinician views on acceptability, feasibility, and safety. In phase 4, ranked lists of interventions were presented by their relevance to high-income countries and low–middle-income countries. Results In phase 1, 43 interventions were identified, which had low uptake in practice according to 3042 professionals globally. In phase 2, a shortlist of 15 intervention domains was generated. In phase 3, interventions were deemed acceptable for more than 90 per cent of patients except for reducing general anaesthesia (84 per cent) and re-sterilization of ‘single-use’ consumables (86 per cent). In phase 4, the top three shortlisted interventions for high-income countries were: introducing recycling; reducing use of anaesthetic gases; and appropriate clinical waste processing. In phase 4, the top three shortlisted interventions for low–middle-income countries were: introducing reusable surgical devices; reducing use of consumables; and reducing the use of general anaesthesia. Conclusion This is a step toward environmentally sustainable operating environments with actionable interventions applicable to both high– and low–middle–income countries

Ehlers-Danlos: A Literature Review and Case Report in a Colombian Woman with Multiple Comorbidities

Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a heterogeneous group of genetically transmitted connective tissue disorders that directly affect collagen synthesis, with a broad range of symptoms. Case presentation: This study presents a clinical case of a Colombian woman with myopathic EDS and multiple comorbidities taking 40 years of medical history to make the right diagnosis. This article also presents a review of the current literature on EDS, not only to remind the syndrome but also to help the clinician correctly identify symptoms of this diverse syndrome.
