A escola portuguesa : do “plano dos centenários” à construção da rede escolar no distrito de Vila Real

Tese de Mestrado em Educação, área de Especialização História da Educação e PedagogiaNa memória de todos aqueles que aprenderam a ler e a escrever surgem algumas imagens da sua história, enquanto estudantes, nomeadamente a escola primária, também a imagem do professor, do livro, do caderno. O trabalho que apresentamos retrata sobretudo a imagem da escola, documentando a evolução ocorrida ao longo do tempo, 1939 a 1969 período no qual se centrou ainvestigação, e as mudanças de circunstância por que passou o ensino e, por outro lado, da forte intervenção a que as escolas, como edifícios se sujeitaram, nomeadamente, novos conceitos de arquitectura, usos de diferentes materiais e os novos métodos de construção, terminando mesmo com a utilização do edifício escolar para outros fins evitando a sua degradação, mantendo-se assim um pouco da sua história. A presente dissertação teve como objectivo principal analisar em que contexto o Plano dos Centenários abarcou a vasta rede de escolas do distrito de Vila Real. Reflectindo também num ponto de capilar importância, de que forma é que o aumento do número de alunos influenciou as novas construções escolares. Conciliando estes factores, foi colocada a grande interrogação a esta investigação, perceber e concluir se a arquitectura nacional atingirá o seu momento de expansão com o “Plano dos Centenários” ao nível dos edifícios escolares. Estruturalmente, a dissertação foi suportada por seis grandes áreas prioritárias que definimos por capítulos. Começamos por contextualizar o trabalho enquadrando a investigação no seu contexto histórico e metodológico. Posteriormente noutro ponto apresentamos os projectos de arquitectura das escolas primárias. Já no terceiro capítulo abordamos a arquitectura escolar abordando de uma forma sistematizada todas as questões relacionadas com os edifícios escolares do ensino primário. A arquitectura escolar e tratada no quarto capítulo. A caracterização do distrito de Vila Real no qual se centrou o nosso estudo, surge no quinto capítulo. Por fim, no sexto capítulo apresentamos um conjunto de fotografias de várias escolas do designado Plano dos Centenários, bem como as de tipologia Conde Ferreira, Adães Bermudes e Rogério Azevedo. Quanto à bibliografia esta foi organizada segundo os vários tipos de textos e documentos analisados.In the memory of all learned how to read and write some images of this lives as students appear namely about their elementary school, also the image of the traditional teacher, of the notebook. The work we present here portrays, above all, the school image, documenting the evolution it was subjected to from 1939 to 1969 period in which the investigation was centered and the circumstance changes that teaching went through. It also shows the strong intervention that schools were submitted to namely on architecture concepts, uses of different material types and the new construction methods. Finally we mention the use of the school buildings for other purposes both as a way of avoiding their degradation and trying to preserve a little of their history. The present dissertation had, as its main goal, to analyse in what context the plan of the centennial included the vast net of schools in the district of Vila Real. It also reflects on a point of main importance – how did the increase in the number of students influence the new school constructions. Having in mind these two factors a big question was put to this investigation trying to understand and finally conclude if the national architecture will reach its moment of expansion with the “Plan of the Centennial” in what concerns to school buildings. Structurally, this dissertation was divided in six great priority areas that we defined as chapters. The investigation was first centred on its historical and methodological context, then, in another chapter, we present the architecture projects of elementary schools. In the third chapter we show the school architecture. There, in a systematized way, all the subjects related to the school buildings of elementary education were discussed. The school architecture and treated in the fourth chapter. The characterization of the district of Vila Real, in which our study was centred, appears in the fifth chapter. Finally in the sixth chapter we present both a set of pictures from several schools belonging to the designated “Plan of the Centennial” and others belonging to Conde Ferreira`s, Adães Bermudes and Rogério Azevedo`s types. The bibliography was organised according to several types of books and the analysed documents

Existence and concentration of solutions for a class of biharmonic equations

Some superlinear fourth order elliptic equations are considered. Ground states are proved to exist and to concentrate at a point in the limit. The proof relies on variational methods, where the existence and concentration of nontrivial solutions are related to a suitable truncated equation.Comment: 18 page

“Living Together with Dementia”—A psychoeducational group programme for family caregivers

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of the psychoeducational programme “Living together with dementia” applied to a group of family caregivers of people with dementia. Design and Methods: A quasi‐experimental study with pretest and posttest and a 4‐month follow‐up. Fifteen family caregivers of people with dementia were recruited in a community care unit in northern Portugal. Results: A positive and statistically significant impact on these caregivers' burden was found. Gestão e orientação para os clientes: um estudo em restaurantes por quilo utilizando o modelo de análise de importância e desempenho (IPA)

Os estudos sobre gestão de pequenas e médias empresas (PMEs) sob a ótica da orientação para o mercado (OPM) têm sido raros no Brasil. Este artigo tem como objetivo averiguar quais atividades de marketing, concebidas sob os princípios da OPM, são adotadas por uma amostra de restaurantes por quilo (PMEs) com mais de 10 anos de existência na cidade de São Paulo, na qual foi aplicado o modelo de análise de importância (IPA). Os resultados parecem indicar que há uma dinâmica gerada pelos colaboradores internos que identificam desejos e preferência dos clientes e os transformam em serviços.Studies on management of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the perspective of market orientation (OPM) have been rare in Brazil. This article, which applied the model analysis of importance (IPA), aims to determine which marketing activities, designed under the principles of OPM, are adopted by a sample of restaurants per kilogram (SMEs) with over 10 years of existence in the city of São Paulo. Evaluation of the Armed Forces Websites of the European Countries

The armed forces are a critical component of the national security strategy of several European countries. Despite the peace that has succeeded the cold war, several armies, in peacetime, have elements recruited with promises of individual opportunities. The countries have two forms of recruitment of their troops: by volunteering or by mandatory incorporation. Following the trends of the modern world, interconnected in a network, it becomes essential to the institutions to mark their presence on the Internet. The Armed Forces in their various branches are no exception; there are numerous sites with relevant information, being used as a channel for dissemination and fundraising. Since young people represent a large share of the population using the Internet, and this is the target population for recruitment, it becomes mandatory to use the internet as a communication channel between them. It was carried out a qualitative study of all sites of European armed forces, and their branches, in order to assess their quality and differences. The approach focused on the evaluation of sites for their ability to inform, update, quantity and quality of content, service availability, use and visual attractiveness, and ease of communication. The study has also tried to verify if the countries with volunteer incorporation were producing websites with higher levels of quality, reflecting the need to invest in order to recruit. On the other hand, countries with compulsive incorporation could have lower investments in their websites, once the satisfaction of the need for staff is guarantied. We considered 38 countries, with an initial usability study where data about the characteristics considered important for proper construction of a website as well as for a good and easy relationship with the user of this type of site were collected. This research defined the parameters to evaluate the sites and groups were created with the parameters of the different areas of analysis of those sites. The evaluation shows that there are differences in quality of sites for each of the countries evaluated in terms of graphics, usability and content, and that where there is a greater difference between the countries is on the number of existing sites by country. It is clear that there are countries that invest strategically in this area while others do not. It was also clear that there is a difference between Eastern and Western Europe in the quality and investment made in the sites of their armed forces. Dividing the countries by their incorporation system, the differences are smaller, both in terms of number of sites for the military, either as to the average assessment of each scheme. In countries where the incorporation is mandatory, investment in independent sites for each branch has not been neglected for a considerable part of the countries, a little more than half. But it is in countries where recruitment is made on a voluntary basis that there are more sites for the different branches, which may indicate an existing competitiveness for staff recruitment

INFLUÊNCIA DA EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA NO DESENVOLVIMENTO PSICOMOTOR DE CRIANÇAS COM CINCO ANOS DE IDADE

No processo de ensino aprendizagem as aulas de Educação Física promovem o desenvolvimento físico e mental da criança. Este estudo pretende verificar a influência da aula de Educação Física no Desenvolvimento Psicomotor de alunos do ensino pré-escolar de cinco anos. A amostra foi constituída por 126 alunos, de ambos os sexos, com cinco anos de idade, de nove Jardins-de-infância públicos do Concelho do Porto (Portugal). Aplicou-se uma bateria de testes psicomotores (pré teste) para aferir o Perfil de Desenvolvimento Psicomotor dos alunos. Posteriormente a amostra foi dividida em dois grupos: Grupo Experimental (GE = 62) e Grupo Controlo (GC = 64). De seguida, professores de Educação Física aplicaram, durante 24 semanas, um Plano de Educação Física Estruturado (PEFE), ao Grupo Experimental. Terminada a aplicação do PEFE aplicou-se a mesma bateria de testes psicomotores (pós teste) em ambos os grupos. Os resultados demonstraram que ambos os grupos evoluíram o seu perfil psicomotor, no entanto, esta evolução foi sempre superior no GE. Verificamos que não houve variações significativas quanto ao sexo.A Educação Física é importante para o Desenvolvimento Psicomotor das crianças em idade pré-escolar. Verificou-se a importância da Atividade Física na relação das crianças com o meio exterior através do desenvolvimento global promovido pelas aulas de Educação Física estruturadas

Associação entre Linfoma de Hodgkin (LH), Hanseníase Tuberculóide (HT) e Amiloidose (A) em um paciente

Os autores apresentam um caso clínico de associação entre linfoma de Hodgkin (LH), hanseníase tuberculóide (HT) e amiloidose (A), em amostragem anual de 4652 exames histopatológicos com incidência de 0,25% de linfoma de Hodgkin, 1,87% de hanseníase tuberculóide, 1,31% de hanseníase virchowiana e 0,83% de hanseníase in determinada. A revisão da literatura identificou apenas uma publicação de dois casos clínicos de associação de linfoma de Hodgkin e hanseníase lepromatosa. Os aspectos anátomo-clínicos e imunopatológicos das entidades envolvidas são analisadas separadamente e em conjunto, ficando clara a interrelação imunopatológica das três patologias LH, HT e A no presente caso clínico
