Microeconomic Behavior of Agents in a Credit-Output Market in an Agricultural Setting

Rural agents engage in interlocking market transactions to minimize costs due to underdevelopment of rural markets. This study aims to model the economic behavior of agents in a credit-output market. Results indicate the prevalence of high interest rates in developed areas. Where income is low, transaction costs are high and the market is segmented, informal lenders are useful on efficiency grounds. Wilderness Ideology and the Formation of the Adirondack Park Policies

This paper explores the longstanding debate over what should be done with the lands of the Adirondack Park. Within the park exists vibrant cultures of development for tourism, and conservationism. They are what determine the outcome of this debate. In order to avoid too broad a topic, my research will focus on the land allocation debate of the Adirondacks from the late sixties to the present. It is around this time, from the 50s-70s, that we notice an economic switch from resource extraction, such as timbering, to more hotel and second home development which propels the touristic economy. Over the past 40 to 50 years, the debate in the Adirondacks has been between land use restriction, and development of this touristic economy. The Adirondack Park Agency, which was formed in 1971, is in charge of two plans: one to manage state land, and the other to control how private property in the park is controlled. There are many who disagree with the APA’s goals and presence. This is mainly due to the debate of whether APA’s form of conservationism is democratic. De los discursos literarios a los conocimientos matemáticos : una aproximación cultural a la construcción de conceptos /

Consultable des del TDXTítol obtingut de la portada digitalitzadaSujeto de aprendizaje, conocimientos matemáticos, literatura infantil, lenguaje, educación y cultura, cada uno de ellos, su relación y su interdependencia, son factores esenciales sobre los cuales versa la investigación, porque concebimos al sujeto como producto de una sociedad que, a su vez, solo puede desarrollarse a partir de su intervención activa. Asumimos la trascendencia de la educación como práctica promotora de conocimientos y procedimientos de aprendizajes pertinentes a cada grupo humano. Admitimos la función esencial del lenguaje para habilitar el desarrollo cognoscitivo. Estimamos imprescindible la promoción de conocimientos matemáticos dentro del proceso educativo del sujeto social. Consideramos la literatura infantil como un medio de gran valor educativo y, por último, estamos convencidos de que la cultura debe ser tomada en cuenta como el escenario estructurante de todo esfuerzo a través del cual se intente provocar el desarrollo del sujeto. En este contexto planteamos una Propuesta para el desarrollo de conocimientos matemáticos en educación infantil, en la cual valoramos el poder de la literatura para provocar el enfrentamiento de situaciones problema que permitan crear diversas posibilidades de representación y comprensión de expresiones y nociones matemáticas elementales.Subject of learning, mathematical knowledge, infantile Literature, language, education and culture, each one of them, its relation and its interdependence, they are essential factors on which turns the investigation, because we conceived to the subject like product of a society that, as well, single can be developed from its active intervention. We assumed the importance of the education like promotional practice of knowledge and procedures of pertinent learning to each human group. We admitted the essential function of the language to qualify the development of the knowledge. We considered essential the promotion of mathematical knowledge within the educative process of the social subject. We considered infantile Literature like means of great educative value and, finally, we are convinced that the culture must be taken into account as the organizer scene from all effort through as is tried to cause the development of the subject. In this context we raised a Proposal for the development of mathematical knowledge in infantile education, in which we valued the power of Literature to cause the confrontation of situations problem that allow to create diverse possibilities of representation and elementary understanding of expressions and mathematical slight knowledge

Colombia ha sido, a través del tiempo, un país caracterizado por conflictos sociales de todo tipo. En la actual coyuntura histórica esos procesos de confrontación entre distintos y diversos sectores de la sociedad colombiana aparecen especialmente agudos, complejos y dramáticos. Por esa razón, es urgente y necesario que las ciencias sociales ofrezcan explicaciones coherentes y satisfactorias de todo lo que sucede en el abigarrado contexto de la sociedad colombiana. Sólo cuando comprendamos lo que pasa, tendremos la posibilidad de superarlo, así sea de una manera provisional y transitoria.Las diferentes corrientes teóricas que se inscriben en el espacio del Análisis del Discurso hacen posible llegar a explicaciones e interpretaciones que abran caminos para la elaboración de propuestas que contribuyan a la solución de los conflictos sociales. Tópicos como dominación, grupo social e ideología, despliegan un horizonte de sentido en medio del cual los procesos sociales de significación terminan revelando las lógicas que los sustentan y que les permiten relacionarse con otros procesos materiales que igualmente tienen lugar en el interior de una formación social como la colombiana. The andalusian popular feeling reflected in the list of plays staged in écija at the end of the 19th century. Answers to social questions.

La cartelera teatral astigitana de finales del siglo XIX (1890-1899), inédita hasta hace unos días, nos ha proporcionado un rico material para el estudio del teatro andaluz de estos años. Los temas que nos ofrecen son muchos y muy ricos, habiendo elegido para este estudio la problemática social y su respuesta, a través de una selección de las obras, siempre que sus autores fueran también andaluces. De esta forma, hemos comprobado si aquello que nos advirtió Victor Hugo, en su prólogo de Cronwell: «...es necesario que la multitud no salga del teatro sin llevarse consigo alguna moralidad austera y profunda» se llevó a la práctica. Este trabajo ofrece una respuesta.The list of plays staged in Écija in the late 19th century (1890-1899) —unpublished until very recently— has cast new light on Andalusian drama, as it has provided precious material for the study of the theatre produced at that time. Those plays evolve around a wide range of topics, although only those written by Andalusian authors and dealing with social issues have been selected in this study. The author of this paper has thus been able to check whether Victor Hugo’s request in his Preface to Cromwell («...that the audience should not leave the playhouse without carrying some sort of deep, austere morality with them») was actually fulfilled.
