RULE-BASED PREDICTION OF SHORT TERM ELECTRIC LOAD

    Get PDF
In this study we discuss the possibility to apply symbolic data mining methods to the problem of prediction. We employ our original algorithm KEX that is used for extraction of classification or prediction rules from data. When new data is coming, the active rules (rules with a fulfilled left-hand side) from the rule base are applied to the data and their weights are composed by the inference mechanism to the resulting weight of a given prediction. The presented approach is applied to the problem of short-term electric load forecasting

Practical Aspects of Data Mining Using LISp-Miner

    Get PDF
The paper describes some practical aspects of using LISp-Miner for data mining. LISp-Miner is a software tool that is under development at the University of Economics, Prague. We will review the different types of knowledge patterns discovered by the system, and discuss their applicability for various data mining tasks. We also compare LISp-Miner 18.16 with Weka 3.6.9 and Rapid Miner 5.3

Lessons Learned from the ECML/PKDD Discovery Challenge on the Atherosclerosis Risk Factors Data

    Get PDF
It becomes a good habit to organize a data mining cup, a competition or a challenge at machine learning or data mining conferences. The main idea of the Discovery Challenge organized at the European Conferences on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases since 1999 was to encourage a collaborative research effort rather than a competition between data miners. Different data sets have been used for the Discovery Challenge workshops during the seven years. The paper summarizes our experience gained when organizing and evaluating the Discovery Challenge on the atherosclerosis risk factor data

PDBe-KB: a community-driven resource for structural and functional annotations.

    Get PDF
The Protein Data Bank in Europe-Knowledge Base (PDBe-KB, https://pdbe-kb.org) is a community-driven, collaborative resource for literature-derived, manually curated and computationally predicted structural and functional annotations of macromolecular structure data, contained in the Protein Data Bank (PDB). The goal of PDBe-KB is two-fold: (i) to increase the visibility and reduce the fragmentation of annotations contributed by specialist data resources, and to make these data more findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) and (ii) to place macromolecular structure data in their biological context, thus facilitating their use by the broader scientific community in fundamental and applied research. Here, we describe the guidelines of this collaborative effort, the current status of contributed data, and the PDBe-KB infrastructure, which includes the data exchange format, the deposition system for added value annotations, the distributable database containing the assembled data, and programmatic access endpoints. We also describe a series of novel web-pages-the PDBe-KB aggregated views of structure data-which combine information on macromolecular structures from many PDB entries. We have recently released the first set of pages in this series, which provide an overview of available structural and functional information for a protein of interest, referenced by a UniProtKB accession

This diploma thesis deals with a interface USB and FireWire cameras to a computer through a technology called DirectShow. I used mostly a development kit „MontiVision“, which cooperates with a programming environment as is e.g. Microsoft Visual C++. You find here how to use a direct pixel access, how to get singles photos from a video, how to set up and calibrate a camera and how can look a particular application of the image processing. I wrote an introduction to the stereo-vision above the frame of my task. This thesis is like a manual for students. It includes my personal experiences and experimentations too.

Social psychological aspects of classroom climate

    No full text
ObhájenoBachelor thesis deals with the social and psychological aspects of classroom climate. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part presents basic terminology of classroom climate. The basic research methods used to diagnose the classroom are mentioned in this part. The practical part is based on the theoretical part. Two methods used to experiment are described in this part "Our Classroom" and "Sociometry in the classroom". The experiment was conducted in two classes in two years. Descriptive and statistical analysis is used to evaluate collected data
