DECISION SUPPORT AT THE LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT STRATEGY
Nowadays logistics more and more often becomes the strategic issue from thepoint of view the organization aiming at reaching success in lead of its activity. The standardprocess of strategic logistics planning and management is usually periodical and the chanceof cooperation with changes in the environment of the company is missing. The paperpresents the process of logistics planning and its integration with the decision support systembased on the hierarchic analytic process - AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process).logistics, logistic management, decision support system
Individual Professional Practise in the Company
Bachelor thesis describes the activities of the individual completion of professional
experience in business SitePark Ltd. My task consisted in gathering and processing information using SNMP v2 Mikrotik API and the network used by routers to provide Internet services to its clients. Thus obtained the information I have compiled in the form of Round Robin Database Tool, and then using RRDtool graphs generated workload monitored parameter on the router. System thus created should be usable in the existing information system, which the company uses to manage clients and enrich it with clear communication of information about the current state of affairs and the network.Prezenční456 - Katedra informatikyvýborn
Perspectives on an Epidemic: The Yellow Fever in 1793 Philadelphia
This article discusses the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1793, and how there are several different accounts of what happened then. It also notes that the official descriptions given by the doctors of the time are not the entire story and that they leave some important things out
Can Hyperfine Excitation explain the Observed Oscillation-Puzzle of Nuclear Orbital Electron Capture of Hydrogen-like Ions?
Modulated in time orbital electron capture (EC) decays have been observed
recently in stored H-like Pr and Pm ions.
Although, the experimental results are extensively discussed in literature, a
firm interpretation has still to be established. Periodic transitions between
the hyperfine states could possible lead to the observed effect. Both selected
nuclides decay to stable daughter nuclei via allowed Gamow-Teller transitions.
Due to the conservation of total angular momentum, the allowed EC decay can
only proceed from the hyperfine ground state of parent ions. In this work we
argue that periodic transitions to the excited hyperfine state (sterile) in
respect to the allowed EC decay ground state cannot explain the observed decay
pattern
Skyrme mean-field study of rotational bands in transfermium isotopes
Self-consistent mean field calculations with the SLy4 interaction and a
density-dependent pairing force are presented for nuclei in the Nobelium mass
region. Predicted quasi-particle spectra are compared with experiment for the
heaviest known odd N and odd Z nuclei. Spectra and rotational bands are
presented for nuclei around No252,4 for which experiments are either planned or
already running.Comment: 13 pages LATEX, elsart style, 6 embedded eps figure
Superheavy Nuclei in the Relativistic Mean Field Theory
We have carried out a study of superheavy nuclei in the framework of the
Relativistic Mean-Field theory. Relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB)
calculations have been performed for nuclei with large proton and neutron
numbers. A finite-range pairing force of Gogny type has been used in the RHB
calculations. The ground-state properties of very heavy nuclei with atomic
numbers Z=100-114 and neutron numbers N=154-190 have been obtained. The results
show that in addition to N=184 the neutron numbers N=160 and N=166 exhibit an
extra stability as compared to their neighbors. For the case of protons the
atomic number Z=106 is shown to demonstrate a closed-shell behavior in the
region of well deformed nuclei about N=160. The proton number Z=114 also
indicates a shell closure. Indications for a doubly magic character at Z=106
and N=160 are observed. Implications of shell closures on a possible synthesis
of superheavy nuclei are discussed.Comment: 29 pages Latex, 13 ps figures, to appear in Nucl. Phys.
Toward CP-even Neutrino Beam
The best method of measuring CP violating effect in neutrino oscillation
experiments is to construct and use a neutrino beam made of an ideal mixture of
and of monochromatic lines. The conceptual design of such
a beam is described, together with how to measure the CP-odd quantity. We
propose to exploit an accelerated unstable hydrogen-like heavy ion in a storage
ring, whose decay has both electron capture and bound beta decay with a
comparable fraction.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, Published versio
Nuclear Half-Lives for Alpha Radioactivity of Elements with 100 Z 130
Theoretical estimates for the half lives of about 1700 isotopes of heavy
elements with Z from 100 to 130 are tabulated using theoretical Q-values. The
quantum mechanical tunneling probabilities are calculated within a WKB
framework using microscopic nuclear potentials. The microscopic nucleus-nucleus
potentials are obtained by folding the densities of interacting nuclei with a
density dependent M3Y (DDM3Y) effective nucleon-nucleon interaction. The
alpha-decay half lives calculated in this formalism using the experimental
Q-values were found to be in good agreement over a wide range of experimental
data spanning about twenty orders of magnitude. The theoretical Q-values used
for the present calculations are extracted from three different mass estimates

Search for Oscillation of the Electron-Capture Decay Probability of Pm
We have searched for time modulation of the electron capture decay
probability of Pm in an attempt to confirm a recent claim from a group
at the Gesellschaft f\"{u}r Schwerionenforschung (GSI). We produced Pm
via the Sn(Na, 5n)Pm reaction at the Berkeley 88-Inch
Cyclotron with a bombardment time short compared to the reported modulation
period. Isotope selection by the Berkeley Gas-filled Separator is followed by
implantation and a long period of monitoring the Nd K x-rays
from the daughter. The decay time spectrum of the x-rays is well-described by a
simple exponential and the measured half-life of 40.68(53) seconds is
consistent with the accepted value. We observed no oscillatory modulation at
the proposed frequency at a level 31 times smaller than that reported by
Litvinov {\it et al.} (Phys. Lett. B 664 (2008) 162; arXiv:0801.2079
[nucl-ex]). A literature search for previous experiments that might have been
sensitive to the reported modulation uncovered another example in Eu
electron-capture decay. A reanalysis of the published data shows no oscillatory
behavior.Comment: 12 pages (double-spaced), 6 figure
Large-Scale Self-Consistent Nuclear Mass Calculations
The program of systematic large-scale self-consistent nuclear mass
calculations that is based on the nuclear density functional theory represents
a rich scientific agenda that is closely aligned with the main research
directions in modern nuclear structure and astrophysics, especially the
radioactive nuclear beam physics. The quest for the microscopic understanding
of the phenomenon of nuclear binding represents, in fact, a number of
fundamental and crucial questions of the quantum many-body problem, including
the proper treatment of correlations and dynamics in the presence of symmetry
breaking. Recent advances and open problems in the field of nuclear mass
calculations are presented and discussed.Comment: 21 pages, 5 figures, submitted to International Journal of Mass
