A Comparative Study of Personality Traits of Coaches and Physical Education Teachers
The purpose of the study was to investigate and compare the personality traits of coaches and physical education teachers. One hundred coaches of individual and team games (N=50) and physical education teachers (N=50) were selected for the purpose of study. To compare the personality traits of coaches and physical education teachers, 16 P.F., questionnaire developed by Cattell, R.B. Eber, H.W. and Tatsuoka, M.M. (1970) was selected as criterion measure. The questionnaire in both Hindi and English version were used. To collect the reliable data, the subjects were contacted at the place of posting and time was fixed to give the answer of the questions (30 to 60 Minutes). To assess the personality traits of sports coaches and physical education teachers, mean of sten scores and standard deviation for each of the 16 P.F. were computed. To determine the significance of difference between coaches and physical education teachers in their mean sten scores of the different personality factors, t-test was computed. Results of the study indicated that coaches and physical education teachers were largely found to be moderately, reserved, intelligent, trustable, practical, straight forward, placid, dependent, confused, relaxed and had different personality traits. Keywords: Coach, Physical Education Teacher, Personality Traits, 16 P.F
Quantifying Spatio Temporal Changes in Coastal Buit-up area of South Goa based on Landsat Imageries using Google Earth Engine
Urban flooding has become a significant concern across many towns and cities in the Asia Pacific. Vulnerabilityand its components must be understood in order to minimize flood risks. Rapid urban growth occurs in developing countries, resulting from unplanned settlements growing along the rivers, and coastlines are at greater risk. On average, a total of 40%of the world’s population lives in narrow coastal belts that take up 7% of the total world land area. Coastal areas areurbanizing at an unprecedented rate that is posing a common threat to humans and ecosystems. Low-lying coastal areas areespecially susceptible to climate change related coastal hazards such as; sea level rise, storm surge, coastal flooding, landsubsidence etc. This study has been carriedoutacross four talukas of South Goa district, India's smallest state, locatedalong the Arabian sea. The low-lying coastal belt of South Goa district is dotted with world famous sandy beaches ofPalolem, Agonda, Colva etc. which attract millions of tourists every year. The present study has assessed the spatio-temporalgrowth of built-up land in low-lying coastal areas (Marmugao, Salcette, Quepem and Canacona) of South goa district.GoogleEarthEngineplatformwasusedtoestimateNormalizedDifferenceBuildIndex(NDBI)basedonLandsatETM+/OLI imageries for 2009, 2015 and 2020 to determine and map spatio-temporal changes in the total built-up area. Theresult revealed that there had been a rapid built-up area increment in South goa coastal belt by 24.94 Sq. Km between 2009(88.46 Sq. Km) and 2015 (113.40 Sq. Km) and by 15.14 Sq. Km between 2015 (113.40 Sq. Km) and 2020 (128.54 Sq. Km).The main driving force behind this phenomenon is the extensive land use changes for haphazard tourism development (inSalcetteandCanacona)andimmigration(inMarmugao). However, theconversionoftraditionalpaddyfieldsandmodification of natural drainage systemtoincrease built-up areas cansignificantly increase the physical andsocialvulnerability in low lying areas of Salcette and Canacona against the coastal hazards. Recognizing phishing site using Machine Learning- A Comparative Approach using MultinomialNB & Logistic Regression
Phishing is a method of trying to collect personal information like login credentials or credit card information using deceptive e-mails or websites. Phishing sites are made to hoodwink clueless clients into intuition they are on an authentic site. The lawbreakers will invest a great deal of energy causing the site to appear as valid as could really be expected and numerous locales will show up practically undefined from the genuine article. This paper proposes a methodology to detect boycotted URLs using machine learning algorithms so that people can be frightened while examining or getting to a particular site. In this project we have using machine learning algorithms such MultinomialNB and Logistic Regression. We used distinctive data and text pre-processing techniques to improve precision and accuracy. An app is developed as the end product of this research work
PARAMETRIC OPTIMIZATION OF FERULIC ACID ESTERASE PRODUCTION FROM MUCOR HIEMALIS NCIM 837PARAMETRIC OPTIMIZATION OF FERULIC ACID ESTERASE PRODUCTION FROM MUCOR HIEMALIS NCIM 837
Objective: To optimize the parametric conditions for the production of ferulic acid esterase from Mucor hiemalis NCIM837 using HPLC for quantification. Methods: The experiments were conducted to determine the influence of pH and temperature on ferulic acid esterase production. To optimize the suitable agricultural waste, carbon source and the nitrogen source, different agricultural wastes, nitrogen sources and carbon sources were examined. Released ferulic acid was confirmed using HPLC.Results: Among the different agricultural waste residues screened, maize bran was identified as most suitable for ferulic acid esterase production with activity 143U/mg. Soyabean meal as the nitrogen source and sucrose as the additional carbon source was observed as the most effective in Ferulic acid ester production. Overall enzyme production increased by 2.2-fold as compared with un-optimized conditions. One unit of FAE was defined as the amount of enzyme required for release of 1µmole of FA per minute. Conclusion: Mucor hiemalis, to the best of our knowledge, is the new addition in the list of FAE producing microorganisms. No detailed studies on FAE production using Mucor hiemalis have been published so far.Â
Spindle cell carcinoma of head and neck: an immunohistochemical and molecular approach to its pathogenesis
Background: Spindle cell carcinoma (SpCC) is a rare microscopic type of cancer of the mouth and oropharynx. Although SpCC is thought to arise from squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), it carries a worse prognosis. Aim: To find out the difference in immunohistochemical expression of cytokeratin, vimentin and smooth-muscle actin, and mutational alterations in the K-ras oncogene between the two tumours, in an attempt to characterise SpCC. Methods: Immunohistochemical analysis was performed by standard avidin-biotin complex method in 35 cases each of SpCCs and SCCs. DNA extracted from paraffin wax-embedded tumours was used for PCR followed by single-strand conformation polymorphism for mutational analysis of K-ras exon 1 and exon 2. Results: In the SpCC group, cytokeratin positivity was significantly higher in epithelial areas (52.2%) than in spindle cell areas (16.1%), whereas vimentin was more positive in spindle cell areas (18.7%) than epithelial areas (2.7%). Cells intermediate between epithelial and spindle cell areas were consistently positive for both cytokeratin and vimentin. Cytokeratin was found to be significantly more positive in SCC (72.6%) than the squamous component and spindle cell component of SpCC. In this study, no mutation was detected in the K-ras gene of either the SpCC or SCC group. Conclusions: The spindle cell component of SpCC is intermixed with cells that are morphologically mesenchymal but express dual antigen-positivity characteristic of epithelial (cytokeratin) and mesenchymal (vimentin) cells. These, possibly, are cells in transition suggesting that SpCC may be a sarcomatous metaplasia of SCC
