Integrated compensation model using a three-phase neutral point clamped inverter

    Get PDF
Normally, when research on active compensation models, previous studies only assumed that the source of harmonics is nonlinear load. The nonlinear load here is fixed and balanced, the supply voltage is considered ideal, i.e. the three-phase source is balanced and there is no distortion. However, in reality, the above assumption is difficult to achieve. Therefore, this paper aims to design an integrated compensation model for different types of harmonic sources. The types of harmonic sources considered here include: harmonic sources generated from nonlinear load and source. The requirement of the integrated compensation model is to create a balanced three-phase voltage at the terminal of the load and the supply current must be a sinusoidal wave in phase with the source voltage. In order to reduce the loss caused by the inverter switching, this paper uses a three-level Neutral Point Clamped inverter. The simulation results performed on Psim software have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed integrated compensation model compared to the traditional integrated compensation model in reducing harmonics and stabilizing DC-bus voltage

High order numerical schemes for transport equations on bounded domains

This article is an account of the NABUCO project achieved during the summer camp CEMRACS 2019 devoted to geophysical fluids and gravity flows. The goal is to construct finite difference approximations of the transport equation with nonzero incoming boundary data that achieve the best possible convergence rate in the maximum norm. We construct, implement and analyze the so-called inverse Lax-Wendroff procedure at the incoming boundary. Optimal convergence rates are obtained by combining sharp stability estimates for extrapolation boundary conditions with numerical boundary layer expansions. We illustrate the results with the Lax-Wendroff and O3 schemes

Factors affecting employee performance through a mediation of job satisfaction. An empirical study of hospitality industry in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

    Get PDF
The research was conducted to explore the relationships between the factors of career development, team spirit, relationship at work, compensation and benefit, working environment, job stress and the factor of employee performance through a mediation of job satisfaction in Hospitality Industry in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Based on previous theoretical and empirical studies, the research conceptual framework and hypotheses were constructed. The primary data was collected from a questionnaire survey with 711 respondents. Multiple regression and Path analyses were conducted to test the research hypotheses, the results showed that career development, team spirit, relationship at work, compensation and benefit, working environment, and employee job satisfaction positively and directly impacted on employee performance. In addition, all factors indirectly influenced employee performance through job satisfaction. Hence, organizations operating in hospitality industry in Ho Chi Minh City should understand better employee expectations to efficiently and effectively improve and manage their human resources

Safety and efficacy of fluoxetine on functional outcome after acute stroke (AFFINITY): a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

Background Trials of fluoxetine for recovery after stroke report conflicting results. The Assessment oF FluoxetINe In sTroke recoverY (AFFINITY) trial aimed to show if daily oral fluoxetine for 6 months after stroke improves functional outcome in an ethnically diverse population. Methods AFFINITY was a randomised, parallel-group, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial done in 43 hospital stroke units in Australia (n=29), New Zealand (four), and Vietnam (ten). Eligible patients were adults (aged ≥18 years) with a clinical diagnosis of acute stroke in the previous 2–15 days, brain imaging consistent with ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke, and a persisting neurological deficit that produced a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score of 1 or more. Patients were randomly assigned 1:1 via a web-based system using a minimisation algorithm to once daily, oral fluoxetine 20 mg capsules or matching placebo for 6 months. Patients, carers, investigators, and outcome assessors were masked to the treatment allocation. The primary outcome was functional status, measured by the mRS, at 6 months. The primary analysis was an ordinal logistic regression of the mRS at 6 months, adjusted for minimisation variables. Primary and safety analyses were done according to the patient's treatment allocation. The trial is registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry, ACTRN12611000774921. Findings Between Jan 11, 2013, and June 30, 2019, 1280 patients were recruited in Australia (n=532), New Zealand (n=42), and Vietnam (n=706), of whom 642 were randomly assigned to fluoxetine and 638 were randomly assigned to placebo. Mean duration of trial treatment was 167 days (SD 48·1). At 6 months, mRS data were available in 624 (97%) patients in the fluoxetine group and 632 (99%) in the placebo group. The distribution of mRS categories was similar in the fluoxetine and placebo groups (adjusted common odds ratio 0·94, 95% CI 0·76–1·15; p=0·53). Compared with patients in the placebo group, patients in the fluoxetine group had more falls (20 [3%] vs seven [1%]; p=0·018), bone fractures (19 [3%] vs six [1%]; p=0·014), and epileptic seizures (ten [2%] vs two [<1%]; p=0·038) at 6 months. Interpretation Oral fluoxetine 20 mg daily for 6 months after acute stroke did not improve functional outcome and increased the risk of falls, bone fractures, and epileptic seizures. These results do not support the use of fluoxetine to improve functional outcome after stroke

    Intercultural communication in business

The bachelor thesis Intercultural communication in business discusses mutual interaction between the Czechs and the Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. The aim of this study is to identify obstacles of mutual interaction of Czechs and Vietnamese, whether there is a communication barrier between them due to cultural differences and, if so, identify them and suggest possible solutions to eliminate problems. The theoretical part is focused on communication, culture, and comparison of the selected countries using Hofstede's 6D model. A crucial part is a survey, which focuses on how mentioned countries perceive one another. On the basis of the results of this survey appropriate recommendations are proposed so as to improve the interaction between studied ethnics

Analysis of Recruiting and Onboarding Hybrid Employees in Vietnam

    No full text
This thesis presents an in-depth analysis of the recruitment and onboarding processes for hybrid employees within the context of Vietnamese organizations. With the rising adoption of hybrid work models globally, this study aims to examine how Vietnamese companies are adapting their recruitment and onboarding strategies to effectively integrate hybrid employees into their workforce. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, incorporating qualitative interviews with the employees of the HR department in corporate and quantitative surveys to gather insights from employee perspectives. This thesis serves to uncover insights into the effectiveness of onboarding practices for hybrid employees in Vietnamese organizations, from that perspective, fostering a culture of inclusion to facilitate successful onboarding experiences. This thesis presents an in-depth analysis of the recruitment and onboarding processes for hybrid employees within the context of Vietnamese organizations. Anomalous domain-wall freezing and ferroelectricity of KDP polycrystals under influence of nanocellulose filler

For the first time, a composite from polycrystals of KH2PO4 (KDP) with a filler of cellulose nanoparticles (CNP) was prepared to investigate the influence of cellulose on domain-wall freezing and ferroelectricity of KDP. The extrapolation of experimental data using Vogel–Fulcher law demonstrated a higher temperature of domain-wall freezing in KDP/CNP composite in comparison with pure KDP. In addition, the impact of CNP led to the expansion of ferroelectric phase in KDP and the red-shift of relaxation frequencies. Besides, the deformation of P–E hysteresis loops with the increase in coercive field as well as the decrease in saturated and remnant polarization was also detected
