Queer Motherhood: Challenging Heteronormative Rules beyond the Assimilationist/Radical Binary

In Spain, same sex marriage and adoption was legalized in 2005, and in 2006 the Law of Assisted Reproduction made this available to every woman regardless of their sexual orientation or marital status. Drawing on interviews carried out in Madrid about assisted conception and lesbian parenting, as well as on previous contributions advanced by queer and gender scholars, this article questions to what extent the assumptions of assimilation to a normative system adequately apply to queer families. Some activists and academics characterize lesbian, gay and/or bisexual partnering and parenting as (hetero)normative, at the same time as the very same forms of constituting a family are the object of rejection from politicians, lawmakers and cultural institutions. Taking this context as the premise, in this article I discuss the need for more diverse analytical instruments which take into account more human and psychosocial aspects of life alongside the political and academic analysis of queer trajectories concerning maternity decisions and everyday experiences of motherhood

Tornar-se mãe de criança com câncer: construindo a parentalidade

The present study, which was conducted using the Interpretive Interactionism method, had the objective of understanding the experience of becoming a mother of a child with cancer. Seven mothers, whose children were undergoing cancer treatment, took part in semi-structured interviews. The results showed that mothers' role are built in a process that implies the interaction between two themes: LIVING THE TIME OF THE ILLNESS, in which mothers concentrates in themselves, continuously permeated by the uncertainties inherent in the disease, and the need to remove the threats of the child's death; and LIVING A TIME OF STRUGGLE FOR THE CHILDREN'S LIFE, which represents the dimension of mothers' behavior in developing their new role. The articulated theme and the epiphanies allowed identifying the connection between parenthood and temporality, in which the time comes into the dimensions of the development of the mother's role.Este estudio, guiado por el Interaccionismo Interpretativo, tuvo como objetivo comprender la experiencia de ser madre de un niño con cáncer. Siete madres cuyos hijos se encontraban en tratamiento de cáncer participaron de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los resultados revelaron que el papel de madre es construido en una conjugación entre dos temas: VIVIR EL TIEMPO DE LA ENFERMEDAD, que representa una inspección de la madre consigo misma y vivir una situación de incertidumbre inherente a la enfermedad y la necesidad de alejar la amenaza de la muerte; VIVIR EL TIEMPO DE LUCHA POR LA VIDA DEL NIÑO, que representa la dimensión de los comportamientos de la madre para construir su papel. Los temas articulados a las epifanías permitieron identificar una interrelación entre el parentesco y la temporalidad, en la cual el tiempo se manifiesta en las dimensiones de la construcción del papel de madre.Este estudo, guiado pelo Interacionismo Interpretativo, teve como objetivo compreender a experiência de tornar-se mãe de uma criança com câncer. Sete mães, cujos filhos se encontravam em tratamento de câncer, participaram de entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os resultados revelaram que o papel de mãe é construído numa conjugação entre dois temas: VIVER O TEMPO DA DOENÇA, representando um olhar da mãe para si, vivendo uma situação de incertezas inerentes à doença e necessidade de afastar a ameaça de morte; VIVER O TEMPO DE LUTA PELA VIDA DA CRIANÇA, representando a dimensão dos comportamentos da mãe ao construir seu papel. Induced pluripotent stem cell line (INSAi001-A) from a Gaucher disease type 3 patient compound heterozygote for mutations in the GBA1 gene

Gaucher Disease (GD) type 3 is a neurological form of a multisystemic autosomal recessive disorder belonging to the group of lysosomal storage diseases. Causal mutations in the glucocerebrosidase 1 (GBA1) commonly lead to abnormal protein and GD, heterozygosity is a genetic risk factor for Parkinson's disease. This work describes the use of a non-integrative approach using Sendai Virus delivery to establish induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) from fibroblasts from a GD type 3 patient. Incertidumbre frente al cáncer infantil: entender las necesidades de la madre

Os objetivos deste estudo foram identificar as necessidades da mãe durante a internação do filho com câncer e compreender como as incertezas diante da doença configuram-se nesta experiência. O referencial teórico do estudo foi o Interacionismo Simbólico e o referencial metodológico, o Interacionismo Interpretativo. A coleta de dados foi conduzida por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Participaram do estudo 10 mães de crianças hospitalizadas em uma instituição especializada no município de São Paulo. Foram identificadas três categorias descritivas das necessidades experienciadas pelas mães: (1) Necessidade de estar presente e acompanhar o tratamento; (2) Necessidade de ser amparada nos momentos de fraqueza; (3) Necessidade de manter vínculo com a família. As necessidades da mãe durante a internação da criança com câncer têm caráter multidimensional, e o reconhecimento delas é essencial para garantir a criação de um contexto de cuidado que potencialize o papel da mãe no suporte à criança com câncer.The objectives of this study were to identify the mother's needs during the hospitalization of the child with cancer and understand how the uncertainties in the disease shape up in this experience. The theoretical framework of the study was the symbolic interactionism and the methodological framework, the interpretative interactionism. The data were obtained by semi-structured interviews. ten (10) mothers, whose children were hospitalized in a specialized institution in são paulo, participated of the study. We identified three categories that describe the mother's needs: 1) need of being with and follow the treatment; 2) need of being supported during weakness; 3) need to maintain ties with the family. The mother's needs during the hospitalization of the child with cancer have multidimensional character and its recognition is essential to guarantee the creation of a context that raises the mother's function supporting the child with cancer.Los objetivos de este estudio fueron identificar las necesidades de la madre durante la internación del hijo con cáncer y comprender como la incertidumbre frente a la enfermedad se ubican dentro de esta experiencia. El marco teórico del estudio fue el Interaccionismo Simbólico y el marcol metodológico, el Interaccionismo Interpretativo. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo a través de entrevistas semi-estructuradas. Participaron del estudio 10 madres de niños internados en una institución especializada en la ciudad de São Paulo. Se identificaron tres categorías descriptivas de las necesidades vividas por las madres: (1) Necesidad de estar presente y estar al pendiente del tratamiento; (2) Necesidad de apoyo en los momentos de la debilidad; (3) Necesidad de mantener el vínculo con la familia. Las necesidades de la madre durante la internación del niño con cáncer tienen carácter multidimensional y el reconocimiento de los mismos es fundamental para garantizar la creación de un ambiente de cuidado que refuerce el papel de la madre en la apoyo al niño con cáncer

Reequilíbrio econômico financeiro nos contratos administrativos: o caso do contrato de prestação de serviços

A presente monografia é o resultado de um estudo de caso que busca elucidar a possibilidade de aperfeiçoamento do instituto do reequilíbrio econômicofinanceiro nos contratos administrativos. São considerados inicialmente dois temas principais: os contratos administrativos e suas peculiaridades, bem como o princípio do equilíbrio econômico-financeiro. Em seguida apresenta-se o caso do contrato celebrado entre a Companhia Urbanizadora da Nova Capital do Brasil - NOVACAP e a EBF – Indústria e Comércio de Serviços LTDA, onde foi solicitada pela empresa a repactuação dos valores cobrados, tendo em vista a prorrogação por mais 12 (doze) meses da vigência contratual. Por fim, identifica-se que no presente caso não há a possibilidade de incidência do reequilíbrio econômico-financeiro “stricto sensu”

Uso do design thinking como ferramenta de inovação na incubadora de base mista da Universidade de Gurupi

Innovations from new technologies constantly change the market, companies need to absorb these effects with good practices that promote competitiveness and consequently their survival and profitability. To collaborate with local entrepreneurship, the Inovo Business Incubator was created, linked to the University of Gurupi. The aim of the incubator is to develop innovative products based on the potential of the region. This research contemplates the use of the co-creation process with the Design Thinking approach as tools of interaction and engagement among incubators, incubators, community, partners and clients of Incubadora Inovo. The objective of the research is to use the techniques of co-creation with the approach of Design Thinking as tools for generating innovative services in the Incubator Inovo. The methodology used was an exploratory case study combined with action research. For the data collection, a co-creation workshop was used, carried out together with the employees and users of the Inovo incubator. The phases of Design Thinking were applied: immersion, analysis and synthesis, ideation and prototyping. In the prototyping phase, the initial proposals obtained in the ideation phase were validated, proposing the mapping for the construction of the innovative architectural physical space, the prospecting of clients with the exhibition of products and services produced by the incubators, the creation of the organizational culture and acquisition of the methodology of the Reference Center to Support New Ventures - (Cerne). Prototyped ideas are possible to achieve. The research was successful in applying the phases of Design Thinking. The tool evidenced the needs for improvements in processes and infrastructure, contributing to the management and promoting innovation in the incubator with the provision of new services.As inovações advindas das novas tecnologias modificam o mercado constantemente, as empresas necessitam absorver esses efeitos com boas práticas que propiciem a competitividade e consequentemente sua sobrevivência e lucratividade. Para colaborar com o empreendedorismo local, foi criada a Incubadora de Empresas Inovo, ligada à Universidade de Gurupi. A incubadora tem por objetivo desenvolver produtos inovadores a partir das potencialidades da região. Esta pesquisa contempla o uso do processo de cocriação com a abordagem do Design Thinking como ferramentas de interação e engajamento entre os colaboradores, incubados, comunidade, parceiros e clientes da Incubadora Inovo. O objetivo da pesquisa é utilizar as técnicas da cocriação com a abordagem do Design Thinking como ferramentas para geração de serviços inovadores na Incubadora Inovo. A metodologia empregada foi um estudo de caso exploratório combinado com a pesquisa-ação. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizado um workshop de cocriação, realizado juntamente com os colaboradores e usuários da incubadora Inovo. Aplicaram-se as fases do Design Thinking: imersão, análise e síntese, ideação e prototipação. Na fase da prototipação realizou-se a validação das propostas iniciais obtidas na fase de ideação, propondo-se o mapeamento para a construção do espaço físico arquitetônico inovador, a prospecção de clientes com a exposição de produtos e serviços produzidos pelos incubados, a criação da cultura organizacional e aquisição da metodologia do Centro de Referência para Apoio a Novos Empreendimentos - (Cerne). As ideias prototipadas são possíveis de realização. A pesquisa obteve êxito na aplicação das fases do Design Thinking. A ferramenta evidenciou as necessidades de melhorias nos processos e infraestrutura, contribuindo para a gestão e promovendo a inovação na incubadora com a oferta de novos serviços
