Scalar fluctuations of the scalar metric during inflation from a non-perturbative 5D large-scale repulsive gravity model

    Get PDF
We develop a non-perturbative formalism for scalar metric fluctuations from a 5D extended version of general relativity in vacuum. In this work we concentrate our efforts on calculations valid on large cosmological scales, which are the dominant during the inflationary phase of the universe. The resulting metric in this limit is obtained after implementing a planar coordinate transformation on a 5D Ricci-flat metric solution. We calculate the spectrum of these fluctuations with an effective 4D Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetime on cosmological scales, which is obtained after we make a static foliation on the non-compact extra coordinate. Our results show how the squared metric fluctuations of the primordial universe become scale invariant with the inflationary expansion.Comment: Final version to be published in EPJ

Treballs Finals del Grau d'Empresa Internacional, Facultat d'Economia i Empresa, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2019-2020 , Tutor: Àngels Pelegrín Solé[eng] Since China started its economic reforms back in 1978, developing from a closed and communist country, to the world second largest economy and the first trading nation in the world. In spite of its large growth, China is currently facing severe challenges that are questioning its ability to continue its growth trend and eventually becoming the first economy worldwide, surpassing the United States (US). This thesis aims to analyse whether China is eligible for further growth, or otherwise if its growth path is already over. In order to verify whether China will continue growing or not, China is compared with certain developed economies with the objective of understanding at which position is China nowadays. The results show that China is on the right track, but it is still far behind from world powers in terms of living standards.[spa] Desde que China empezó las reformas económicas en 1978, ha pasado de ser un país cerrado y comunista, a la segunda economía más grande y la primera nación comercial del mundo.

Stakeholders participation in the Innovation Process

Master's thesis in Business InnovationThis master thesis aims to study the stages in which startups include relevant stakeholders in their innovation process. The study seeks to contribute and enrich the innovation management literature regarding stakeholder inclusion. It combines existing literature with the RRI field and adds non-economic stakeholders into the mix, with the aim to enhance the innovation management capabilities of Norwegian startups by conducting a research on the members of an organization in the Oslo region. The findings suggest that innovation is widely accepted and encouraged, it also shows that firms have dynamic capabilities since they are able to reflect, absorb and adapt to some degree their innovation based on stakeholder inclusion but that these interactions focus on primary economic relationships with informal meetings and networking as the main method. The evidence also shows that most stakeholder interactions are being held at the launch and post launch stages of a new product or service development. The study concludes making an argument for the inclusion of non-economic stakeholders to be done at earlier stages of the innovation proces

= 0,05). Significante diferença para a cor (p0,05), exceto para a interação cor x tempo pós-ativação (p0.05), except for shade x post-cure time (p<0.0045) and mode of activation x post-cure time (p<0.0003). The resin cement shade and indirect activation had a significant effect on the Knoop hardness. There was a significant increase in Knoop hardness after 24 h in all cements shades. The depth influenced significantly on the Knoop hardnessMestradoMateriais DentariosMestra em Materiais Dentário

End-of-the-World Trade: On the Speculative Economies of Art and Extraction

Fri 21 June 3pm – 6pm : RHB 342 Sat 22 June 10 – 6 pm : RHB 312 This two-day event explores how ‘end-of-the-world’ scenarios and processes have given financial capitalism a new lease of life. Bringing together researchers, artists, theorists the event will consider how over the last decade financialisation has mutated new techniques of value extraction and emulation. All of which indicate emerging frontiers of social struggle spanning cultural, digital, geological, biological and sensual fields of knowledge and experience. The two watchwords of the larger research programme for this event are ‘extraction’ and ‘mimesis’. Extraction inasmuch as the scraping of value from exhausted resources is the current model of endgame capitalism, from the ‘gig economy’ to socially and geophysically devastating mining to the energy demands of the infrastructure servicing the digital economy, with cryptocurrency mining as the nexus where dominant as well as emergent models of social and energy extraction collide and comply. Here, emulation plays an important role, as capital increasingly mimics human biology and social exchange for profit, while the human and the social needs to retrofit itself as forms of capital in order to survive in a landscape of scarcity, commodification and debt. Mimesis is the worldmaking side of emulation, however, recalling aesthetic philosophies which re-imagine the nature-culture divide as not moving from exploitation to immersion, as much ‘new materialist’ thinking does, but to forms of mutual re-invention and adaptability which requires a profound shift in the material and social boundaries that reproduce nature and culture as polarities and as sites of escalating crisis. Art and financial technologies, specifically cryptocurrencies and all digital ledger-based forms of accounting, encapsulate both sides of the extraction/mimesis continuum, particularly with how contemporary cultural and political practices bring up close the agency of financial technologies in expanding the space of incalculability and contingency but also in enclosing the incalculable and sensate in routines of financial accumulation and extraction. Optimización de técnicas de medida de dispersión cromática a frecuencias ópticas

    Get PDF
