Assim, surge a
ordenamento, planeamento e gestão do território classificado.
Identification of vertebrate type steroid hormones in the shrimp Penaeus japonicus by tandem mass spectrometry and sequential product ion scanning
The identification of testosterone, pregnelonone, and 17α-hydroxyprogesterone by tandem mass spectrometry and of progesterone by sequential product ion scanning in the shrimp gonads of Penaeus japonicus is described. The identification of these substances in biological samples is usually done by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and involves several liquid chromotographic purification steps followed by derivatization. The utilization of tandem mass spectrometry in this analysis has simplified considerably the sample pretreatment and provided a very simple method of screening these substances in complex mixtures

Funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement No 951724N/
Hydro-climatic and ecological behaviour of the drought of Amazonia in 2005
In 2005, southwestern Amazonia experienced the effects of an intense drought that affected life and biodiversity. Several major tributaries as well as parts of the main river itself contained only a fraction of their normal volumes of water, and lakes were drying up. The consequences for local people, animals and the forest itself are impossible to estimate now, but they are likely to be serious. The analyses indicate that the drought was manifested as weak peak river season during autumn to winter as a consequence of a weak summertime season in southwestern Amazonia; the winter season was also accompanied by rainfall that sometimes reached 25% of the climatic value, being anomalously warm and dry and helping in the propagation of fires. Analyses of climatic and hydrological records in Amazonia suggest a broad consensus that the 2005 drought was linked not to El Niño as with most previous droughts in the Amazon, but to warming sea surface temperatures in the tropical North Atlantic Ocean
Twistors and Black Holes
Motivated by black hole physics in N=2, D=4 supergravity, we study the
geometry of quaternionic-Kahler manifolds M obtained by the c-map construction
from projective special Kahler manifolds M_s. Improving on earlier treatments,
we compute the Kahler potentials on the twistor space Z and Swann space S in
the complex coordinates adapted to the Heisenberg symmetries. The results bear
a simple relation to the Hesse potential \Sigma of the special Kahler manifold
M_s, and hence to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy for BPS black holes. We
explicitly construct the ``covariant c-map'' and the ``twistor map'', which
relate real coordinates on M x CP^1 (resp. M x R^4/Z_2) to complex coordinates
on Z (resp. S). As applications, we solve for the general BPS geodesic motion
on M, and provide explicit integral formulae for the quaternionic Penrose
transform relating elements of H^1(Z,O(-k)) to massless fields on M annihilated
by first or second order differential operators. Finally, we compute the exact
radial wave function (in the supergravity approximation) for BPS black holes
with fixed electric and magnetic charges.Comment: 47 pages, v2: typos corrected, reference added, v3: minor change
Reconstructing the deep-branching relationships of the papilionoid legumes
Resolving the phylogenetic relationships of the deep nodes of papilionoid legumes (Papilionoideae) is essential to understanding the evolutionary history and diversification of this economically and ecologically important legume subfamily. The early-branching papilionoids include mostly Neotropical trees traditionally circumscribed in the tribes Sophoreae and Swartzieae. They are more highly diverse in floral morphology than other groups of Papilionoideae. For many years, phylogenetic analyses of the Papilionoideae could not clearly resolve the relation- ships of the early-branching lineages due to limited sampling. In the eight years since the publication of Legumes of the World, we have seen an extraordinary wealth of new molecular data for the study of Papilionoideae phylogeny, enabling increasingly greater resolution and many surprises. This study draws on recent molecular phylogenetic studies and a new comprehensive Bayesian phylogenetic analysis of 668 plastid matK sequences. The present matK phylogeny resolves the deep-branching relationships of the papilionoids with increased support for many clades, and suggests that taxonomic realignments of some genera and of numerous tribes are necessary. The potentially earliest-branching papilionoids fall within an ADA clade, which includes the recircumscribed monophyletic tribes Angylocalyceae, Dipterygeae, and Amburanae. The genera Aldina and Amphimas represent two of the nine main but as yet unresolved lineages comprising the large 50-kb inversion clade. The quinolizidine-alkaloid-accumulating Genistoid s.l. clade is expanded to include Dermatophyllum and a strongly supported and newly circumscribed tribe Ormosieae. Sophoreae and Swartzieae are dramatically reorganized so as to comprise mono-phyletic groups within the Core Genistoid clade and outside the 50-kb inversion clade, respectively. Acosmium is excluded from the Genistoids s.l. and strongly resolved within the newly circumscribed tribe Dalbergieae. By providing a better resolved phylogeny of the earliest-branching papilionoids, this study, in combination with other recent evidence, will lead to a more stable phylogenetic classification of the Papilionoideae.Web of Scienc
The Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen
The long quest for a measurement of the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen is over. Last year we measured the 2S1/2F=1–2P3/2F=2 energy splitting (Pohl et al., Nature, 466, 213 (2010)) in μp with an experimental accuracy of 15 ppm, twice better than our proposed goal. Using current QED calculations of the fine, hyperfine, QED, and finite size contributions, we obtain a root-mean-square proton charge radius of rp = 0.841 84 (67) fm. This value is 10 times more precise, but 5 standard deviations smaller, than the 2006 CODATA value of rp. The origin of this discrepancy is not known. Our measurement, together with precise measurements of the 1S–2S transition in regular hydrogen and deuterium, gives improved values of the Rydberg constant, R∞ = 10 973 731.568 160 (16) m⁻¹ and the rms charge radius of the deuteron rd = 2.128 09 (31) fm
