Solitary Waves in Massive Nonlinear S^N-Sigma Models
The solitary waves of massive (1+1)-dimensional nonlinear S^N-sigma models
are unveiled. It is shown that the solitary waves in these systems are in
one-to-one correspondence with the separatrix trajectories in the repulsive
N-dimensional Neumann mechanical problem. There are topological (heteroclinic
trajectories) and non-topological (homoclinic trajectories) kinks. The
stability of some embedded sine-Gordon kinks is discussed by means of the
direct estimation of the spectra of the second-order fluctuation operators
around them, whereas the instability of other topological and non-topological
kinks is established applying the Morse index theorem

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo indagar en la comprensión de los estudiantes universitarios sobre problemas de la Matemática discreta, en particular sobre la Teoría de Grafos (Biggs, 1994). Debido a las similitudes con la geometría por la fuerte componente visual de la teoría de grafos (más topológica que métrica), al menos en los primeros acercamientos a ella, hemos considerado como marco teórico para abordar esta investigación el modelo de Van Hiele adaptado a esta área de la Matemática
Genetic characterization of grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) cultivars from Castilla La Mancha (Spain) using microsatellite markers
A total of 73 accessions of Vitis vinifera L., corresponding to local grape cultivars from Castilla La Mancha (Spain) mostly collected in the districts around the Serranía de Cuenca, were analyzed with 12 microsatellite markers in order to ascertain identity and to detect synonymy and homonymy. The allelic pattern of the 73 accessions belonged to 39 different cultivars: 23 coincided with those of known grape cultivars and 16 were different such as 'Flamenca', 'Churriago', 'Pintailla', and 'Gallera Negra'. Homonymous designations were also detected like 'Coloraillo', 'Moravia Dulce' and 'Botón de Gallo' and synonymous names such as 'Garnacha' and 'Tinto Basto', 'Machina', 'Tortosi' and 'Rojal' as well as 'Moravio' and 'Bobal'.
On domain walls in a Ginzburg-Landau non-linear S^2-sigma model
The domain wall solutions of a Ginzburg-Landau non-linear -sigma hybrid
model are unveiled. There are three types of basic topological walls and two
types of degenerate families of composite - one topological, the other
non-topological- walls. The domain wall solutions are identified as the finite
action trajectories (in infinite time) of a related mechanical system that is
Hamilton-Jacobi separable in sphero-conical coordinates. The physical and

Supersymmetry versus Integrability in two-dimensional Classical Mechanics
Supersymmetric extensions of Hamilton-Jacobi separable Liouville mechanical
systems with two degrees of freedom are defined. It is shown that supersymmetry
can be implemented in this type of systems in two independent ways. The
structure of the constants of motion is unveiled and the entanglement between

La noción de matematización progresiva se expresa través de una secuencia generada por dos tipos de actividad matemática relacionadas reflexivamente: la matematización horizontal y la vertical (Treffers, 1987). Aunque, frecuentemente, la matematización horizontal se describe a través de la transformación de una situación problemática en un problema matemático propiamente dicho, en nuestro trabajo utilizaremos este concepto en un sentido más amplio que nos permitirá incluir situaciones de partida que sean de naturaleza ya matemática (Rasmussen, Zandieh, King & Teppo, 2005). Las actividades que pueden ser identificadas cuando se produce la matematización horizontal y la matematización vertical han sido descritas por Üzel y Mert Uyangör (2006)
Factorization of supersymmetric Hamiltonians in curvilinear coordinates
Planar supersymmetric quantum mechanical systems with separable spectral
problem in curvilinear coordinates are analyzed in full generality. We
explicitly construct the supersymmetric extension of the Euler/Pauli
Hamiltonian describing the motion of a light particle in the field of two heavy
fixed Coulombian centers. We shall also show how the SUSY Kepler/Coulomb
problem arises in two different limits of this problem: either, the two centers
collapse in one center - a problem separable in polar coordinates -, or, one of
the two centers flies to infinity - to meet the Coulomb problem separable in

The Atlántida of Capitalism. The murals of Sert in the decorative programme of New York’s Rockefeller Center
New York’s Rockefeller Center is one of most symbolically rich places in the world, although few of its millions of visitors stop to reflect on what its images of power really mean. In the form of an Atlantean mythological allegory, Rockefeller Center was conceived as symbolic propaganda for capitalist, liberal values implicit in both the ‘American Dream’ and the ideology espoused by the Rockefeller family. It embodies the utopia of progress and science that promotes the freedom of the individual and the free movement of capital. Due to ideological clashes –or the vagaries of fate– the Catalan José María Sert was the artist to ultimately complete the most eloquent mural in the main building, a mural which had formerly been painted by Diego de Rivera, and entitled Man at the Crossroads. Sert was a muralist who had previously worked on the scenographic illustration of Manuel de Falla’s Atlántida, capturing some of the motifs that inspired that great cantata based on poetic texts by Jacint Verdaguer. That earlier work is reflected in the lobby of Rockefeller Center’s main building. While Diego de Rivera’s censored frescoes have been studied prolifically, little attention has been paid to Sert’s paradoxical reading of the same subjects. In this article, we analyse the history of the Atlantean Mediterranean literary myth in relation to Spain, the use John D. Rockefeller Jr. made of them in his emblematic urbanistic ensemble, and also the peculiar reading that the Catalan muralist made of these themes of Atlantis in relation to capitalism
Influencia del sedentarismo en las desviaciones raquídeas de la población escolar de Léon
Nuestra investigación trata de evaluar los hábitos sedentarios, en los escolares de 10 y 14 años de una zona de León, y su influencia en las desviaciones raquídeas. Para la obtención de los hábitos nos basamos en el tets de Medoza, R. también se realizó una evaluación física de los niños para observar las desviaciones raquídeas. En el tratamiento de la información se utilizó el análisis de la varianza univariante y multivariante, además del análisis de componentes principales y análisis discriminante. Llegando a la conclusión, respecto al tiempo de televisión que el día de la semana que más tiempo dedican los niños a ver la televisión es discrimante de los escolares que tienen desviación raquídea
Routing Topologies of Wireless Sensor Networks for Health Monitoring of a Cultural Heritage Site
This paper provides a performance evaluation of tree and mesh routing topologies of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in a cultural heritage site. The historical site selected was San Juan Bautista church in Talamanca de Jarama (Madrid, Spain). We report the preliminary analysis required to study the effects of heating in this historical location using WSNs to monitor the temperature and humidity conditions during periods of weeks. To test which routing topology was better for this kind of application, the WSNs were first deployed on the upper floor of the CAEND institute in Arganda del Rey simulating the church deployment, but in the former scenario there was no direct line of sight between the WSN elements. Two parameters were selected to evaluate the performance of the routing topologies of WSNs: the percentage of received messages and the lifetime of the wireless sensor network. To analyze in more detail which topology gave the best performance, other communication parameters were also measured. The tree topology used was the collection tree protocol and the mesh topology was the XMESH provided by MEMSIC (Andover, MA, USA). For the scenarios presented in this paper, it can be concluded that the tree topology lost fewer messages than the mesh topology.The Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness supported this research under
