Alternate reality games for civic education: Storytelling, game design and game discourses

Los juegos de realidad alternativa, “Alternate Reality Games” (ARG), son considerados una forma de narrativa transmedia y han sido explorados en ambientes educativos dadas sus características lúdicas, narrativas, participativas e interactivas. Esta investigación exploratoria consistió en solicitar a grupos de alumnos diseñar su propio ARG. Para promover la reflexión sobre cambio social, su propuesta debía estar relacionada con temas de ciudadanía basados en sus propias inquietudes. Los juegos se diseñaron tomando en cuenta un modelo pedagógico que incluye elementos de ciudadanía transversal y de diseño narrativo, lúdico y del discurso. Se encontraron ideas creativas para promover la disposición a la participación ciudadana. Con el fin de facilitar el uso y creación de estos juegos enfocados en cambio social estamos desarrollando una plataforma y un prototipo de aplicación cuyas características son descritas en el artículo.Alternate Reality Games (ARG) are considered a type of transmedia storytelling and have been explored in educational settings due to their gaming, storytelling, participation and interactivity possibilities. However, they have usually been produced based on a fixed story that has sparked little interest from students. This experiment consisted on proposing roups of students to design their own ARG. To promote reflection about social change, their game proposal had to be related to citizenship issues based on their own interests. Games were designed taking into account a pedagogical model that includes citizenship across the curriculum and storytelling, game design and game discourse elements. As a result, creative ideas related to fostering active citizen participation were found. In order to facilitate the use and creation of games, we are developing a platform and prototype application which features are described in this article

Hemoglobina y rendimiento académico en estudiantes del primer año I.E. Virgen de Natividad, Quishuar, 2021

El estudio contó con el propósito de determinar la relación entre el nivel de hemoglobina y el rendimiento académico en alumnos del primer año de la I.E. Virgen de Natividad, Quishuar, 2021. La investigación fue no experimental, transversal, descriptivo, correlacional; en donde su población estaba constituida por 45 alumnos de la I.E. Virgen de Natividad cuya técnica empleada fue la observación y el instrumento fue la ficha técnica. Los resultados nos permitieron determinar que existe relación considerable entre las variables estudiadas, debido a que se obtuvo el valor de p = 0.048, lo que quiere decir que existe asociación entre las variables de estudio. Asimismo, los niveles de hemoglobina presentan que la mayoría de los estudiantes cuentan con anemia. Por otro lado, el nivel de rendimiento académico se encuentra con las notas de B y C, quedando demostrado que el nivel de hemoglobina se asocia al rendimiento académico.Tesi

El derecho al trabajo. Sus alcances jurídicos e interpretación judicial

The article introduces the emergence of the Right to Work in an Economical and Social dimension, its Definition as a Right by Scholars and its regard with freedom of choice. Moreover, the article states the established standards by which Work may be covered as a Human Right. Equally, it specifies how the Right and Freedom to work have been provided by Mexico and Spain’s Constitution as well as the interpretation made by Mexico’s Judicial Branch and the Constitutional Court of Spain. Finally, the article points out the Legislative and Interpretative Methods effect of the Right to Work.El artículo introduce el surgimiento del derecho al trabajo en la dimensión económica y social, su identificación como derecho por los estudiosos del tema y la relación que tiene con la libertad de elección del mismo. Enseguida, enuncia los estándares que se han establecido internacionalmente para dar cobertura al trabajo como derecho humano. Mercadotecnia Digital Como Estrategia de Innovación Para el Impulso del Turismo Mexicano en el Contexto de Seguridad Sanitaria

A partir de diciembre de 2019, inicia en China una enfermedad que nadie imaginó que en poco tiempo afectaría al resto del mundo, con el consiguiente colapso social y económico. En este sentido, para el año 2020, como consecuencia de la emergencia sanitaria, el sector turístico se ha convertido en uno de los escenarios más críticos que requiere una capacidad de reacción en el impulso a las políticas públicas que propicien su resurgimiento, el reforzamiento de la infraestructura de comunicaciones y servicios para consumidores y prestadores de servicio, incremento a los presupuestos para reforzar la promoción de los destinos turísticos, entre otros.Sin embargo, hoy por hoy, el componente más importante en la recuperación del sector turístico mexicano es la Innovación, como estrategia gubernamental y empresarial para el desarrollo y aprovechamiento de tecnología inteligente para la creación de soluciones transformadoras para los retos a los que ya se enfrenta el mercado actual. De esta manera, surge un área de oportunidad muy relevante representada por la Mercadotecnia Digital y el uso de las Redes Sociales, que en alianza estratégica con el Turismo, se constituye como un medio para diseñar un modelo integral de gestión para la actividad turística. El presente artículo establece como objetivo identificar las necesidades específicas que presenta el sector turístico y que requieren ser atendidas por la Mercadotecnia Digital como estrategia innovadora mediada por las tecnologías de la información y comunicación, redes sociales y plataformas digitales. Esta investigación de tipo exploratorio, fue diseñada para realizarse de carácter mixto, con enfoque tanto cualitativo como cuantitativo. En su primera etapa muestra los puntos de vista de usuarios frecuentes de las redes sociales en su conocimiento, frecuencia de uso, tipo de canal como rubros que reflejan las necesidades que cubren el criterio de “comunicación efectiva”. Ya en el ámbito turístico, se reflejan los intereses específicos sobre la consulta de páginas web, ubicación de servicios, búsqueda de ofertas y diversidad de productos turísticos comercializados por los diferentes proveedores.   As of December 2019, there was a disease outbreak in China that no one imagined would affect the rest of the world within a short time, resulting to the social and economic collapse of many countries. In this sense, by 2020, as a consequence of the health emergency, the tourism sector has become one of the most critical scenarios that need a reaction capacity in promoting public policies that promote its resurgence, the reinforcement of communications infrastructure and services for consumers and service providers, and increased budgets to reinforce the promotion of tourist destinations among others. Today, the most important component in the recovery of the Mexican tourism sector is innovation. Innovation, therefore, is the strategy used by the government and businesses for the development and use of smart technology to create transformative solutions for the challenges it is already facing. Due to the current market, a very relevant area of opportunity arises by using Digital Marketing and Social Networks. In strategic alliance with tourism, it serves as a means of designing a comprehensive management model for tourism activity. This paper focuses on identifying the specific needs presented by the tourism sector and how to meet this needs using digital marketing as an innovative strategy mediated by information and communication technologies, social networks, and digital platforms. This exploratory research was designed to be carried out on a mixed basis, with both qualitative and quantitative approach. In its first stage, it shows the points of view of frequent users of social networks based on its knowledge, frequency of use, and type of channel as items that reflect the needs that cover the criterion of "effective communication". In the tourism field, specific interests are reflected on the consultation of web pages, location of services, search for offers, and diversity of tourism products marketed by different providers

Thermal and rheological behaviour of stearate-based phase change nanofluids

A comprehensive study has been performed on the thermal and rheological behaviour of two sets of isooctyl stearate (PureTemp 8, PT8) based nanofluids with different concentrations of spherical MgO nanoparticles (up to 15 wt%) and graphene nanoplatelets (up to 2 wt%). The results show that the presence of the nanomaterials does not significantly alter the phase change temperatures of the base fluids, although the latent heat decreases by 27% and 7.6% for 15 wt% MgO and 1.0 wt% GnP-based nanofluids, respectively. Both nanomaterials are found to increase the thermal diffusivity of the nanofluids. GnP-based suspensions have a higher thermal diffusivity than the MgO ones at similar nanomaterial concentrations. Rheological analyses show that MgO-PT8 nanofluids behave as a viscoplastic material (solid at zero shear rate); whereas the GnP-PT8 samples are viscoelastic (liquid at zero shear rate). MgO nanoparticles promote the formation of large fractal agglomerates, leading to a strong gel network of particles within PT8, while platelet-shaped GnP gives a fluid-like behaviour.Agencia Estatal de Investigación | Ref. Contribution of research and development to the efficiency of social progress in latin america

Research and development, measured mainly by the production of patents, and by the investment of public expenditure in this sector, are recognized indicators that reflect the economic development of countries. This paper proposes to make a comparative analysis of the technical efficiency of some research and development factors in Latin American countries and their contribution to social progress. The data envelopment analysis method is applied to determine the comparative efficiency between countries and the contributions of inputs. As a result, the number of active researchers in the country and investment in research and development is the main inputs that contribute to maximizing social progress in Latin America
