El presente estudio realiza un análisis estratégico de los Picos de Europa de León, un enclave montañoso perteneciente a la Cordillera Cantábrica que forma parte de la Red Estatal de Parques Nacionales. Se identifican debilidades, amenazas, fortalezas y oportunidades de un territorio en fase de transformación socioeconómica. La confección de la matriz DAFO sintetiza las principales conclusiones, a la vez que sirve de guía para definir las líneas de actuación que pueden aportar un futuro más prometedor a tan singular espacio natural protegid

El efecto de la inmigración en la sostenibilidad a largo plazo del sistema de pensiones en España.

In this paper we build a socio-economic simulation model, called Carrion, to project the public expenditure on the retirement pensions, the social security contributions and the GDP through 2060. The model makes use of detailed hypothesis backed with econometric estimations on the behavior of current and future immigrants related to the length of stay, fertility, wages and employment rates. This information, along with the same for the native population, allows a detailed analysis of the effect of immigration on the balance of the social security system. The main result is that the solvency ratio (contributions over pensions) of immigrants is clearly above that of natives and will be so until 2055, when both ratios will be well under current valuesDemographic projections, Social Security, pensions, sustainability of pension system

Casuística del abdomen agudo y su indicación quirúrgica en un servicio de cirugía. Novedades diagnósticas

Ante la frecuencia del abdomen agudo en la práctica diaria de los equipos de Cirugía de guardia del Servicio de Cirugía General y Digestiva del Hospital de Son Dureta, que representa el 56 % de todas las urgencias que atienden, se revisa la casuística de este amplio concepto diagnóstico comparándola con la de otros autores en especial referencia al llamado abdomen agudo inespecífico que ocupa la mitad de los abdómenes agudos atendidos, señalando las nuevas técnicas diagnósticas como la laparoscopia, la ecografia de alta resolución y los programas informáticos de diagnóstico, con sus limitaciones, subrayando la persistencia de la anamnesis, la exploración física y las exploraciones complementarias como la base de la primera orientación diagnóstica de todo abdomen agudo en vistas a obtener un diagnóstico precoz y una correcta indicación quirúrgica

Synthesis, microstructure and volumetry of novel metal thiocyanate ionic liquids with [BMIM] cation

We present a new family of ionic liquids (ILs) with a common cation, 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium, the popular [BMIM]+ (also written C4C1Im+) and a variety of anionic complexes (also called adducts) based in thiocyanate (SCN)?: one blank compound, BMIM(SCN), and ten doped with metals having different oxidation states: Al+3, Mn+2, Fe+3, Cr+3, Ni+2, Hg+2, Zn+2, Co+2, Cd+2 and Cu+, forming, respectively, [BMIM]3[Al(SCN)6], [BMIM]4 Mn(SCN)6, [BMIM]3 Fe(SCN)6, [BMIM]3 Cr(SCN)6, [BMIM]4 Ni(SCN)6, [BMIM]2 Hg(SCN)4, [BMIM]2 Zn(SCN)4, [BMIM]2 Co(SCN)4, [BMIM]2 Cd(SCN)4 and [BMIM]3 Cu(SCN)4. All of them were synthesized by us, except the blank IL and the Co thiocyanate, which are commercial. Obtained products have been characterized by NMR, and also by electrospray ionization, MS-ES, which allows the determination of the new ILs purities. Then, compounds have been analyzed using FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy. In addition, magnetic susceptibility and refractive index measurements were performed in some of the compounds studied, as well as thermal characterization using DSC and TGA. Finally, experimental measurements of density on all those ILs have been performed, and for some of the samples in a broad temperature range (about 100 K). In spite of being very similar compounds from the chemical point of view, they present quite different physical properties, including optical, thermal and magnetic ones? Also, they show different oxidation states (one with +1, six with +2 and other three with +3). We guess that this family of ILs will have interesting applications, mainly for photonic devices

On the physical properties of mixtures of nitrate salts and protic ionic liquids

We report a systematic study of the effect of salt concentration and its cation valence on several equilibrium and transport properties of mixtures of the model protic ionic liquid ethylammonium nitrate with monovalent (LiNO3), divalent (Mg(NO3)2 and Ca(NO3)2), and trivalent (Al(NO3)3) salts. These properties, determined by appropriate experimental techniques, include density, sound velocity, refractive index, surface tension, conductivity and viscosity. Single-particle dynamics and radial distribution functions were also analyzed by means of molecular dynamics simulations. The temperature dependence of the conductivity was studied in the Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann framework, and we obtained effective activation energies, fragility indexes, and Vogel temperatures. In addition, we performed a high-temperature Arrhenius analysis and we calculated the activation energies of both conductivity and viscosity. Finally, the exponents of the fractional Walden rule for the different mixtures were obtained and the ionicities and fragilities of the systems were analyzed, proving that all the mixtures are subionic and fragile. The distortion of the network of hydrogen bonds characteristic of protic ionic liquids and the formation of long-lived anionic aggregates composed of the cations of the added salt and the nitrate anions in their first solvation shell were found to have a deep impact on the analyzed properties. Emociones políticas y virtudes epidémicas en el siglo XVIII

El proyecto se propone abrir nuevas vías en la enseñanza de las Humanidades en la UCM mediante la práctica de una historia de las ideas del siglo XVIII que atiende a los condicionantes materiales de la cultura y a la valoración de las emociones como índices de construcción de imágenes de lo privado y lo público. El proyecto pretende, por un lado, explorar los mecanismos materiales de producción de ideas y creencias compartidas por la sociedad del siglo XVIII, teniendo en cuenta los diferentes contextos de la Ilustración Francesa, Alemana, Judía y Escocesa, con especial atención a la formación de metáforas políticas y a las emociones estéticamente más aceptadas y difundidas en la época analizada. La otra dimensión estudiada por el proyecto se refiere a los procesos de configuración de lo público y la crítica intelectual del poder, tomando como instrumento de análisis la comunicación de ideas materializada en la correspondencia, en la prensa, en los libros y en el proyecto de la Enciclopedia. Este programa de trabajo tendrá como principal destinatario el alumnado de Grado, Máster y Doctorado de la UCM, al que se invitará a las sesiones de trabajo del equipo, especialmente al matriculado en las asignaturas impartidas durante el curso 2016/17 por la IP. El proyecto reúne a destacados especialistas de la UCM y de otras universidades madrileñas y españolas, además de contar entre sus miembros con estudiantes de doctorado, que propiciarán la difusión de las actividades entre los estudiantes UCM, y con personal de administración y servicios, a los que se asignarán tareas relacionadas con la difusión y transferencia de los resultados del proyecto, a la sociedad, a la comunidad universitaria UCM y a los estudiantes Erasmus que reciba en el curso 2016/17 la Facultad de Filosofía de la UCM
