[Abstract]: The aim of this project is to couple a viologen derivative to a short peptide sequence,
from the basic region of the GCN4 transcription factor, using a solid phase Zincke
reaction. Due to the chemical properties of viologens, the desired conjugate could form
supramolecular complexes with cucurbit[8]uril that allow to control their dimerization
and biological function in response to external stimuli.
With this purpose in mind, the required activated viologen and peptide derivative were
successfully synthesized. The coupling of the activated viologen to the orthogonally
deprotected Lys side chain located at the C-terminus of the peptide sequence was
carried out using a solid phase Zincke reaction.
In order to follow all the reactions and characterize intermediates and products, NMR
and HPLC-MS were the techniques used for this purpose. The final viologen-peptide

Detection, characterization and quantification of nanoparticles in marine products and derivatives
alimentaria e cruzan a parede intestinal, podendo alcanzar o sistema circulatorio e outros órganos. A maiores,
What Do Secondary Education Students Understand About Social Justice? Students Representations of Social Justice in Different Regions of Spain.
This quantitative empirical research analyses secondary school students’ representations of social justice in different regions of Spain. ‘Social Justice Representation Questionnaire- SJRQ’ has been designed and implemented to conduct an empirical analysis of Social Justice in the field of education. This instrument is based on the three dimensional model of social justice (redistribution, recognition and representation). Participants of this study were 3229 secondary education students from 12 to 21 years old. The participants belong to 20 public schools in five Autonomous Communities of Spain. This study aims to determine how the concept of social justice develops in secondary education students of different educational levels and whether gender is a relevant variable. The results confirm that social justice representations of secondary education students follow a developmental trend because students of upper educational levels have a closer vision to social justice. Also, females manifest a greater predisposition towards social justice than males. This study confirm that SJRQ is a useful tool to train Social Justice oriented citizens and to develop training programs adapted to different understanding levels.pre-print623 K

Pomacea canaliculata is native to Rio de la Plata basin, and it is invasive in most of South and Southeast Asia after accidental introduction during unsuccessful attempts to establish commercial aquaculture of this species, and being present, the number one pest of rice crops in the region. Investigations in its native habitat are still needed because fundamental issues of its trophic ecology remain unknown. The aim of this research was to study the diet of P. canaliculata in its natural habitat through gut content techniques and stable isotopes of 13C and 15N. Biological samples were taken from November 2009 to December 2010 in Carnaval stream, a characteristic Pampean stream. Samples for stable isotopes of 13C and 15N using of a mixing model were collected in November 2011. The trophic strategy diagram evinced a generalist diet with high consumption of detritus followed by the vascular plants and algae. The mixing model results indicated that the relative contribution to the diet was similar for all basal resources: fine and coarse particulate organic matter, epipelon and aquatic macrophytes (approximately 40 %). These results evidenced a strong dietary plasticity for the species.Fil: López Van Oosterom, Maria Vanesa. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. Preparation and Characterization of New Liposomes. Bactericidal Activity of Cefepime Encapsulated into Cationic Liposomes
Cefepime is an antibiotic with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity. However, this antibiotic has several side effects and a high degradation rate. For this reason, the preparation and characterization of new liposomes that are able to encapsulate this antibiotic seem to be an important research line in the pharmaceutical industry. Anionic and cationic liposomes were prepared and characterized. All cationic structures contained the same cationic surfactant, N,N,N-triethyl-N-(12-naphthoxydodecyl)ammonium. Results showed a better encapsulation-efficiency percentage (EE%) of cefepime in liposomes with phosphatidylcholine and cholesterol than with 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DOPE). The presence of cholesterol and the quantity of egg-yolk phospholipid in the liposome increased the encapsulation percentage. The bactericidal activity against Escherichia coli of cefepime loaded into liposomes with phosphatidylcholine was measured. The inhibitory zone in an agar plate for free cefepime was similar to that obtained for loaded cefepime. The growth-rate constant of E. coli culture was also measured in working conditions. The liposome without any antibiotic exerted no influence in such a rate constant. All obtained results suggest that PC:CH:12NBr liposomes are biocompatible nanocarriers of cefepime that can be used in bacterial infections against Escherichia coli with high inhibitory activity
The SDGs as a useful tool in vernacular architecture management: The case of “17 objectives and a map”
[EN] The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) contribute to unite cities, organizations, local governments, and people networks, sharing transformation policies and challenges for the future of the planet. At present, cultural heritage is widely recognised as a fundamental pillar in the achievement of the SDGs in the coming years. Focused on people and their work to place culture, education, heritage, art and social development as a focal point, a project has been developed by the hand of the Jaume I University (Castellón). "17 objectives and a map” is a project based on the 17 SDGs, wich emphasizes the importance of traditional crafts, construction techniques and the heritage conservation to achieve the global goals. The history of construction shows that vernacular architecture have always been creative in adapting and optimizing buildings using the local resources available to fulfill people’s needs in the best way. In this process -in a natural and sustainable way- climatic, economic, social and cultural factors have been taken into account. During the first phase of the proyect (years 2020 and 2021) workshops where heritage communities exchanged experiences and good practices improving mutual learning, were developed in a playful and fluid way, identifying and extracting SDG messages from different projects. With the help of specific designed toolkits, heritage communities became aware of the importance of sustainable actions to transform the heritage future. After several months of workshop, the results of this first phase served the participants to review their projects from an SDG perspective and to restructure some points of them in favor of a more sustainable future. Also, the results constituted an excellent starting point to work, in a pioneering way, in the field of the SDGs from a heritage perspective.López Sabater, A.; García López De Andújar, V.; Laumain, X.
