Impact assessment of master plan of "attain to technical knowledge of specific pathogen free shrimp production and cut off to dependence on foreign products" on Bushehr city environment: A case study, Shoghab research station
This study is a part of the national and technology master plan entitled "Attain to technical knowledge of specific pathogen free shrimp production and cut off to dependence on foreign products". The goals of this work were to assess the environmental effects of Specific Pathogen Free shrimp production complex on surrounded region in Persian Gulf (Shoghab) research station in Bushehr city. The environmental impacts were assessed in Bandragah research station in Bushehr city by usage of comprehensive method for impacts prediction, and Pastakia Matrix for assessment during Feb 2012 till Sep 2014. Results showed 8 negative and 3 positive environmental factors that affect by operating phase including 48% very slightly negative and 44.5% slightly positive and 7.5% very slightly positive effects. Although there is no significant different between negative and positive effects but based on national strategy on getting the technology doing such a projects is highly recommended. By the usage of technical methods in effluents treatment control and reduction of bad impacts is achievable
The environmental impacts were assessed in Persian Gulf (Shoghab) research station in Bushehr city by usage of simple checklist for impacts prediction, and scaling check list for assessment during Feb 2012 till Sep 2014. Flushing the effluents to the sea is the biggest concern of this project that can resulted in health impacts on aquatic and human communities that can be avoided by treatment. Low diversity in activities beside lack of environmental sensitive elements in the region leads us to use of scaling check list for impact assessment. Environmental grade of each activity can be achieved by stratification of them according to their intensity, significance and scale. We reached +320 and -198 for positive and negative points respectively that sounds a clear yes for execution choice

Application of data fusion techniques and technologies for wearable health monitoring
Technological advances in sensors and communications have enabled discrete integration into everyday objects, both in the home and about the person. Information gathered by monitoring physiological, behavioural, and social aspects of our lives, can be used to achieve a positive impact on quality of life, health, and well-being. Wearable sensors are at the cusp of becoming truly pervasive, and could be woven into the clothes and accessories that we wear such that they become ubiquitous and transparent. To interpret the complex multidimensional information provided by these sensors, data fusion techniques are employed to provide a meaningful representation of the sensor outputs. This paper is intended to provide a short overview of data fusion techniques and algorithms that can be used to interpret wearable sensor data in the context of health monitoring applications. The application of these techniques are then described in the context of healthcare including activity and ambulatory monitoring, gait analysis, fall detection, and biometric monitoring. A snap-shot of current commercially available sensors is also provided, focusing on their sensing capability, and a commentary on the gaps that need to be bridged to bring research to market
Saccular mycotic aneurysm of descending thoracic aorta secondary to vertebral hydatid disease: A rare case
Background/Objective: Hydatid disease of the aorta is very rare. Hydatid disease can result in saccular aneurysm of the thoracic and abdominal aorta. Case report: We report a rare case of saccular aneurysm of the distal descending thoracic aorta. The diameter of the aneurysm was 60 mm. It was managed by Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair. After 41 months, computed tomography angiography revealed a multi-loculated cystic lesion with 86 8380 mm dimensions in the prevertebral area at the T10-T11 level with bony destruction and erosion of the anterior margin of the vertebral bodies. A computed tomography-guided fine-needle aspiration of the paravertebral cystic lesion was performed. Microscopic study of the fine-needle aspiration specimen demonstrated Echinococcosis granulosus diagnostic of hydatid disease. Conclusion: It is concluded that the case was a mycotic aneurysm of the thoracic aorta secondary to vertebral hydatid disease. © The Author(s) 2021
Quantum Mechatronics
Mechatronics systems, a macroscopic domain, aim at producing highly efficient engineering platforms, with applications in a variety of industries and situations. On the other hand, quantum technologies, a microscopic domain, are emerging as a promising avenue to speed up computations and perform more efficient sensing. Recently, these two fields have started to merge in a novel area: quantum mechatronics. In this review article, we describe some developments produced so far in this respect, including early steps into quantum robotics, macroscopic actuators via quantum effects, as well as educational initiatives in quantum mechatronics.Applied Science, Faculty ofNon UBCMechanical Engineering, Department ofReviewedFacult
