Užívání členů v substantivních a předložkových skupinách
Předložená práce "Užívání členů v substantivních a předložkových skupinách" zkoumá používání členů v současné němčině. Z tohoto důvodu nebyl použit název "sémantická funkce", neboť by jím nebyly postiženy aspekty komunikativní. V odborné literatuře je někdy upřednostňována sémantika (srov. FLEISCHER 1967: 133, ZIFONUM 1997: 1958), jiná pojetí řadí vztahy referenční k funkci komunikativně-pragmatické (srov. např. FLÄMIG 1991: 474). Další funckí v rámci této práce byla funkce gramatická, tedy signalizace gramatických kategorií prostřednictvím členů. K této funkci jsou řazeny i užívání členů v závislosti na určitých gramatických konstrukcích a v nich užité lexiky....The presented study "On the Use of German Articles in Nominal and Prepositional Groups" is devided into two parts. The first part starts with a description of German articles with their morphosyntactic characteristics. The most attention is paid to the functions of the articles in German language. The Use of the articles is presented in groups in dependence to their functions - the determination, the grammatical, stylistic and communicative function. In the practical part follows a statistical analysis of the interaction of the Determination, stylistic and communicative function by the use of articles in nominal and prepositional groups with abstract nouns Explosion, Überfall and Anschlag. The results of this analysis show relations between the informational structure of a phrase and the neutralisation of the identification of an appositional attribute and further also the effects of the stylistic function in communicative important role in the phrase.Institute of Germanic StudiesÚstav germánských studiíFilozofická fakultaFaculty of Art
Sex differences in sensitivity to prenatal and early childhood manganese exposure on neuromotor function in adolescents
While studies have suggested that exposure to manganese (Mn) may be associated with neurodevelopment in school-age children, there is limited information on prenatal and postnatal Mn exposures and tremor or motor function in children
Prenatal Particulate Air Pollution and Asthma Onset in Urban Children. Identifying Sensitive Windows and Sex Differences
Bayesian distributed lag interaction models to identify perinatal windows of vulnerability in children’s health
Association between weekly PM2.5 exposure and EPDS scores (total score and anhedonia, anxiety and depressive symptom subscales) stratified by race/ethnicity.
<p>Within each stratum, this figure demonstrates the association between PM2.5 exposure during pregnancy and postpartum EPDS total and subscale scores using a distributed lag model assuming week-specific effects, adjusting for education, age, prenatal smoking status and season of delivery. The y-axis shows the change in EPDS score in relation to a 10 μg/m3 increase in PM2.5 level; the x-axis depicts gestational weeks of the pregnancy. The solid line shows the predicted score change, and the gray area indicates the 95% confidence interval. A sensitive window is identified when the estimated pointwise 95% confidence interval does not include 0.</p
Prenatal fine particulate exposure associated with reduced childhood lung function and nasal epithelia GSTP1 hypermethylation: Sex-specific effects
Abstract Background In utero exposure to particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 2.5 μm (PM2.5) has been linked to child lung function. Overlapping evidence suggests that child sex and exposure timing may modify effects and associations may be mediated through glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) methylation. Methods We prospectively examined associations among prenatal PM2.5 exposure and child lung function and GSTP1 methylation in an urban pregnancy cohort study. We employed a validated satellite-based spatiotemporally resolved prediction model to estimate daily prenatal PM2.5 exposure over gestation. We used Baysian distributed lag interaction models (BDLIMs) to identify sensitive windows for prenatal PM2.5 exposure on child lung function and nasal epithelia GSTP1 methylation at age 7 years, and to examine effect modification by child sex. Results BDLIMs identified a sensitive window for prenatal PM2.5 exposure at 35–40 weeks gestation [cumulative effect estimate (CEE) = − 0.10, 95%CI = − 0.19 to − 0.01, per μg/m3 increase in PM2.5] and at 36–40 weeks (CEE = − 0.12, 95%CI = − 0.20 to − 0.01) on FEV1 and FVC, respectively, in boys. BDLIMs also identified a sensitive window of exposure at 37–40 weeks gestation between higher prenatal PM2.5 exposure and increased GSTP1 percent methylation. The association between higher GSTP1 percent methylation and decreased FEV1 was borderline significant in the sample as a whole (β = − 0.37, SE = 0.20, p = 0.06) and in boys in stratified analyses (β = − 0.56, SE = 0.29, p = 0.05). Conclusions Prenatal PM2.5 exposure in late pregnancy was associated with impaired early childhood lung function and hypermethylation of GSTPI in DNA isolated from nasal epithelial cells. There was a trend towards higher GSTP1 percent methylation being associated with reduced FEV1. All findings were most evident among boys
