Patron and Client: An Analysis of the Strategic Interests and Relationship between the United States and Israel from the Perspective of Patron-Client Theory

The thesis analyses the relationship between the United States and Israel from the patron-client theory perspective. Furthermore, the thesis aims to confirm or refute the hypothesis that the patron-client relationship between the United States and Israel is not a classic patron-client relationship, as it has its limits and specificities that place it at a unique level. The fundamental hypothesis of the thesis is additionally supplemented by the following secondary research questions: on what principles does the patron-client relationship between the United States and Israel operate? Do the United States and Israel behave as a classic patron-client? Why is the relationship between the United States and Israel described as special, and is it exceptional in some way? In what way did their mutual patron-client relationship influence the development of the respective crisis? What limits does this relationship have, or in what cases is Israel willing to promote its policy against the interests of the patron? The thesis is based on the theoretical definition of the patron-client theory, whose characteristics, basic principles, dynamics, and typologies are subsequently applied to the bilateral relationship between the United States and Israel. Cílem práce je potvrdit či vyvrátit hypotézu, že vztah patron-klient mezi Spojenými státy a Izraelem není klasickým vztahem patrona a klienta, jelikož má své limity a specifika, která jej řadí na jedinečnou úroveň. Základní hypotéza práce je navíc doplněna následujícími sekundárními výzkumnými otázkami: na jakých principech funguje patron-klient vztah Spojených států a Izraele? Chovají se Spojené státy a Izrael jako klasický patron a klient? Proč je vztah Spojených států a Izraele označován za speciální a je opravdu nějakým způsobem výjimečný? Jakým způsobem jejich vzájemný patron-klient vztah ovlivnil vývoj příslušné krize? Testing of potential capability of chiral ionic liquids with long alkyl chain in capillary electrophoresis chiral separations III.

Department: Department of Analytical Chemistry Candidate: Petr Chmelař Supervisor: PharmDr. Pavel Jáč, Ph.D. Title of the diploma thesis: Testing of potential capability of chiral ionic liquids with long alkyl chain in capillary electrophoresis chiral separations III This diploma thesis builds on previous work which tested the chiral ionic liquid (-)-N- Dodecyl-N-methylephedrinium bromid (DMEB) for chiral separations in CE. This work focuses on finding a suitable internal standard and extraction procedure for the determination of levofloxacin in tablets. Due to a shortage of DMEB on the market, various extraction methods were verified using CE method employing sulfated β- cyclodextrin (S-β-CD). Separations were performed in fused silica capillaries (33 cm/24.5 cm) with an internal diameter of 50 μm, at voltage -13.6 kV and UV detection at 294 nm. Non-chiral enrofloxacin was chosen as suitable internal standard. The optimal sample preparation procedure for analysis involved the extraction of tablet in a solution of 20% acetonitrile with addition of 0.1 M NaOH using ultrasonication and subsequent centrifugation. Under these conditions, the determined levofloxacin content during indepedent assays over 4 different days was 101.88 ± 1.41% (n = 4). Tato práce se věnuje nalezení vhodného vnitřního standardu a extrakčního postupu pro stanovení levofloxacinu v tabletách. Z důvodu výpadku DMEB na trhu byly různé způsoby extrakce ověřovány pomocí CEmetody využívající sulfatovaný β-cyklodextrin (S-β-CD).Roztok základního elektrolytu obsahoval 50 mM fosforečnanový pufr o pH 2,5 s obsahem 30 mg/ml S-β-CD. Separace probíhaly v křemenných kapilárách (33 cm/24,5 cm) s vnitřním průměrem 50 µm, při napětí -13,6 kV a s UV detekcí při 294 nm. Jako vhodný vnitřní standard byl zvolen nechirální enrofloxacin. Optimální postup úpravy vzorku k analýze byl založen na extrakci tabletoviny v roztoku 20% acetonitrilu s přídavkem 0,1 M NaOH na ultrazvuku a následné centrifugaci. Use of interactive whiteboards in primary education

This diploma thesis deals with the use of interactive whiteboards in teaching at the first level of primary schools. The aim of this work is to map how teachers perceive the effectiveness of including interactive whiteboards in teaching, what digital tools they have at their disposal and how they obtain or create their own teaching materials. The theoretical part of the work focuses on general information about digital technologies in education, the role of interactive whiteboards in the teaching process, their benefits and limits. It also addresses the current context of the development of digital competences of teachers and pupils. The practical part uses quantitative-qualitative research including a questionnaire survey among teachers at the first level of primary schools and a complementary in-depth interview. The research shows that interactive whiteboards are perceived as an effective tool for increasing motivation, clarity and involvement of pupils. According to the research, whiteboards are beneficial especially in the possibility of enriching teaching with visual, movement and interactive elements. Cílem této práce je zmapovat, jak učitelé vnímají efektivitu zapojení interaktivních tabulí do výuky, jaké digitální nástroje mají k dispozici a jakým způsobem získávají či vytvářejí své vlastní výukové materiály. V teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na obecné informace ohledně digitálních technologií ve vzdělávání, roli interaktivních tabulí ve výukovém procesu, jednotlivým typům tabulí, jejich přínosech a limitech. Stejně tak se věnuje současnému kontextu rozvoje digitálních kompetencí učitelů a žáků. V praktické části je použit kvantitativně-kvalitativní výzkum zahrnující dotazníkové šetření mezi učiteli 1. stupně základních škol a je doplněn o hloubkový rozhovor. Pro dotazníkové šetření byli osloveni prvostupňoví učitelé napříč ČR. Tento výzkum ukazuje, že interaktivní tabule je vnímána jako efektivní nástroj pro zvyšování motivace, názornosti a také zapojení žáků. The potential of chicken antibodies in the context of yeast diseases

The presented bachelor's thesis focuses on the description of the pathogenic microorganism Candida albicans, its virulence factors, the issue of yeast infections from an immunochemical perspective, and introduces chicken-specific antibodies of the IgY isotype as a potential tool for the treatment and prophylaxis of yeast infections. This study was conducted as a follow-up to the bachelor's thesis of Bc. Matúš Vodecký with the difference that the immunization of hen A with a suspension of Candida albicans cell walls and hen B with a suspension of whole Candida albicans cells did not include the addition of mycobacteria (incomplete Freund's adjuvant) to potentially increase the yield of specific antibodies. The methods primarily used for the detection of chicken-specific antibodies were ELISA and CELISA, along with filtration - and centrifugation-based techniques. The bachelor's thesis is largely of a review nature. Matúše Vodeckého s tím rozdílem, že imunizace slepice A suspenzí buněčných stěn kvasinky Candida albicans a slepice B suspenzí celých buněk Candida albicans nezahrnovala přídavek mykobakterií (neúplné Freundovo adjuvans) za účelem možného vyššího zisku specifických protilátek. The Use of Green Roof at Lower Secondary School

A green roof is a distinctive and modern feature of contemporary architecture, and when implemented in an educational setting, it can become an engaging part of pedagogical practice. This thesis explores the description, specifics, and potential for the optimal use of a green roof in the teaching of science subjects at elementary schools. The study employs a semi-structured interview as part of a single-case study research design. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical section draws from both international and domestic sources, as well as the author's personal experience and interest in the field. It discusses concepts such as green infrastructure, green classrooms, and green roofs, while also exploring various possibilities for utilizing green classrooms in education, along with relevant didactic methods. The practical section begins by defining the research goals and questions, the research sample, applied methods, and the ethical considerations of the research. This is followed by the presentation of findings. The results section includes an analytical report and outputs from thematic analysis based on data collected through interviews. Tato práce se zabývá popisem, specifiky a možnostmi maximálního využití zelené střechy ve výuce přírodovědných předmětů na základní škole. K tomu využívá výzkumný postup polostrukturovaného rozhovoru v rámci jedno-případové studie. Práce má teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část čerpá ze zahraničních i tuzemských zdrojů a také z vlastních zkušeností a osobního zájmu autora o tuto oblast. Forced migrations from Republika Srpska during the civil war 1991-1996, the specific case of Kozluk

The thesis deals with forced migrations in Republika Srpska during the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992-1996, with emphasis on the municipality of Kozluk in the Podrinje region. The thesis analyses the causes, course and consequences of the forced displacement of the inhabitants of this area and their return after the end of the war. The work takes into account the ethno-demographic development of the area before and after the war, and analyses the attitudes of the international community towards forced migration. The key part of the thesis is a case study of the village of Kozluk, based on qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with witnesses. Particular attention is paid to the role of Fadil Banjanović, who made a significant contribution to ensuring the safe transport of residents during the war, and especially to the return of residents after 1996. The aim of the thesis is to assess the success of the returns and to identify the factors that influenced the refugees' decision to return, including the obstacles and motivations associated with post-war reconstruction. Práce zohledňuje etno-demografický vývoj oblasti před válkou a po jejím skončení. Také analyzuje postoje mezinárodního společenství k nuceným migracím. Tools of a non-profit organization Iniciativa No Greenwashing in the fight against greenwashing in the Czech Republic

This thesis discusses greenwashing as a problém, which is handled by several civil society organizations in the Czech republic. The goal of this thesis is to understand how a chosen civil society organization deals with greenwashing on the basis of the theory of functions of civil society organizations. The theoretical concept of this work is based on the typology of functions as defined by P. Frič, followed by the divison of advocacy instruments as stated in the document Rukověť zdánlivě bezmocných by the OSF Foundation. The empirical part of this thesis has been done in the form of a case study of a chosen non- profit organization dealing with greenwashing. whose work I have examined through a documents analysis and a questionnaire. In the final part I summarize the results of the case study in relation to a used theoretical concept and I present the achieved results.Tato diplomová práce pojednává o greenwashingu jakožto problému, kterým se aktuálně zabývají některé organizace občanské společnosti v České republice. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jakými způsoby s greenwashingem pracuje vybraná organizace občanské společnosti na základě teorie funkcí OOS. Teoretická koncepce práce vychází především z typologie funkcí organizací občanské společnosti podle P. Friče, na kterou jsem navázala rozčleněním nástrojů advokační činnosti, jak jsou uvedeny v Rukověti zdánlivě bezmocných Nadace OSF. Empirická část práce je zpracována formou případové studie vybrané neziskové organizace zabývající se greenwashingem, jejíž činnost jsem zkoumala prostřednictvím analýzy dokumentů a dotazníku. Spacetimes for superluminal motion

In this thesis we study a 1+1 (1 spatial and 1 time direction) version of the Alcubierre metric which, in a sense, allows superluminal motion within the framework of general relativity. We show the causal structure of that metric and look at the limitations related to the metric, both in terms of causality and energy conditions. We point out the differences and similarities with the 3+1 version of that metric. We construct another superluminal metric in 1+1, describe its properties and compare it with the Alcubierre metric. We show how the light-like and time-like geodesics look like in both mentioned spacetimes. We show that the form of the proposed metric allows to construct, in a sense, a "path into the past". 1V této práci studujeme 1+1 (1 prostorový a 1 časový směr) verzi Alcubierrovy metriky, která v jistém smyslu umožňuje nadsvětelné cestování v rámci obecné teorie relativity. Uvedeme kauzální strukturu této metriky a podíváme se na omezení s metrikou spojená, jak z hlediska kauzality, tak i z hlediska energetických podmínek. Ukážeme na rozdíly a shodnosti s 3+1 verzi této metriky. Zkonstruujeme jinou nadsvětelnou metriku v 1+1, popíšeme její vlastnosti a porovnáme ji s Alcubierrovou metrikou. Uvedeme, jak vypadají světelné a časupodobné geodetiky v obou těchto prostoročasech.
